when I say similar...I mean they are both middle of the road academic schools...and if my kid really wanted to be a fruit and major in acting or Music (yes that is a dig at you max) then he could go to a number of other schools like crane...or fredonia but never naz

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

with all the improvements that fisher has made both academically and facilities wise i wouldnt even hold naz even close to the alma mater.
20 years ago maybe just maybe.

Now be nice to Music Majors.

thank god naz doesn't know how to play football or my karma would be going down the drains...

KS...I have no issue with music majors....IF they go to a real music school as in Eastman, crane, fredonia...and anyother number of good music schools in the NE

agreed super
crane, eastman, fredonia

on the flip side back to the argument at hand--id have no prob with IC or many other E8 colleges ---also given----by the time my kids get to that tuition will be unreal!!!

Knightstalker

Some of us went to good state college music programs.  The NJAC has three outstanding programs at NJCU, MSU and WPU.  Others in the NJAC are good but they are three of the best in the state, especially for the money.

I'll beat JU to this one....Berklee

Knightstalker

Berklee is not what it used to be.  If you want to play jazz and put down all other musicians than Berklee is the place to go.  If you want to major in Jazz performance, WPU has a program that is on par with Berklees at about a quarter of the price.

Interesting.....I thought they  were pretty much in a class to themselves.

Knightstalker

The name still carries weight, but if you going to make a living as a musician it doesn't matter where you went to school or if you went at all.  When they throw the sheet music or chart on the stand, you have to be able to play it and play it well or all you will hear is thank you, Next!

This may be a case of answering my own question, but has Ithaca started football practice already? I made a day trip down to Ithaca yesterday and, during my venture back down the hill from a lovely dinner at John Thomas, I saw football practice taking place on the football fields. In hindsight, I must have been seeing things. It was 8pm on a Sunday night and it's still July (I though practice didn't start until the first weekend in August). Anyone know what's going on?
