All of their good recruits now go to Brockport or Fisher...

Tecmo- I see you don't give AU much credit-the winner of SJF/IC-- E8 champ???

tecmobowler

I love the AU guys, but no, I don't think they're close to contending for the E8 Championship.

In fact, if anyone else is going to compete, I think we need to look to the East, and our Maroon friends...

What's the matter with Buff State?

the correct answer is....

Buff State sucks!

theicdubbz

yeah,.. good answer Tecmo but this was decided at the game in chants heard around butterfield while you were drinking wine and earning a free wedding with kegs of Labatt.

Well, lets pretend you're a kid with talent from Upstate NY:

Fisher can provide beautiful facilities, and you can train upon the same things as the Buffalo Bills.

Ithaca has a beautiful campus and field, a huge rivalry game that attracts 8000-11000 and provides a rich tradition in D-3 football.

Brockport provides a school with a winning attitude, with a good P.E program, and a friendlier price.

Cortland has a new stadium, a good P.E program, a friendly price, and the Cortaca Jug incentive.

What can Buff State offer apart from these places? The chance for playing time?

Dont forget that ECC has added football.....

What would you do if you were in the Buffalo area? Go to a D-3 school, ride the pine for a while and then play or go to a JUCO school, play right away develop and then get a chance at scholarship from a bigger school?

If MCC ever got football I think you'd see a big time drop off in the athletes that go to schools around the Rochester area.....

tecmobowler

Yeah, it sounds rough eh?

But the demise of Buff State's program coincides directly with Brockport's improvement in the early 2000's, and Fisher's gigantic upgrade in facilities.

true about Buff State,
Yet didnt they see this coming?

I would not say that Ithaca had a beuitful campus.  I have been there several times and personally find it really hard to find a building because they all look a like.  Fisher has different looking buildings and better situation for the football stadium (if and when they add permenant seating on the visitor side and bathrooms that don't role, but from what I have heard that is in the plans

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

tecmobowler

Yeah agreed on the campus super.  I was more talking about the beautiful view of the lake from Butterfield.

Funny you brought up the visiting seats at Fisher.  Hopefully they overcome the fact that one can't see over the players from those crummy seats.  We're forced to sit on the Fisher side to see anything, which inevitably causes problems.

Don't think I've ever seen a truer statement on these boards.  Having been to Buff State several times, all the colleges you mention have huge advantages over the bengals, not to mention better location in all cases.
