I clikced the article link and nothing happened.  it brought me to a page that said there are no recent events.  WHAT'S GOING ON HERE!??

from the other posts I am assuming that Norwich is losing their football program or has decided to leave the E8??

how about this--Syracuse drops to D-3 and joins the E-8

Rutgers already took all of SU's recruits.  Now William Paterson will take  the rest...

man... could you imagine the FDC in the Dome??  Yellow and Orange fans scattered throughout.  What was that post from Q about Highlighter crowds or somthing?

thanks MIOH... +K

Also, in regards to a replacement,  there have been rumors circulating around central NY that TC3 is trying to get 4 year status.   If this is true they could possibly have a 4 year affiliation by 2011.  They already added Lax to there sports programs.  why not football?  TC3 just completed a 15 million dollar expansion and sports  complex complete with turf fields and weight training facility.

realistic

dubz.  Not gonna happen.  TC3 has recently upgraded all of their athletic facilities.  The idea is to compete with the Herkimers and OCCs in athletics and therefore getting more students.  They arent going 4-year.  It would be impossible and counterproductive to what they already do.

JQV

Hopefully TCC upgraded their "gym."  We went there for our second or third game freshman year and played them in the middle of the "quad."  The size of the crowd increased significantly when classes ended.

realistic

they actually added a full field house/athletic center.  Field turf fields, baseball, softball and some more stuff I think too.

I love their gym though.  It always cracked me up.  Those people weren't actually fans though Q...they just were pissed b/c they couldn't cut across the court to go home.

superman57

well a solution here would be for the giants to fire Tom COughlin (which will happen soon anyways) and for RIT to bring back the football program with their old head coach Tommy C

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

not so rowdy bomber

what are the chances a school like Fredonia, Clarkson, Keuka, Siena, Elizabethtown getting a football program?

realistic

slim.

Football is probably the 2nd or 3rd most expensive sport to start from scratch behind hockey.  Also Fredonia and Keuka wouldn't help b/c of the current "not good enough" conversation... and isn't Siena D-1?

Caz Bombers

Siena is D1, plus they dropped football a few years back anyway.  I would support adding Lyco as an all-sports E8 member, I think they're good at some other stuff besides football.  Wilkes would be another great option.  Heading in another direction geographically there is Thiel and Grove City but those seem like real longshots to me.

I would have to say at the present time there is no viable replacement school in New York that isn't already comfortable in the LL.

Here's the radical idea though....what do we really need an auto bid for?  If this league goes Pool B as the Northwest Conference exits, that should keep Pool B playoff bids pretty much stable at whatever it is now (3 is the number I believe).  At that rate, the top 2 E8 teams plus Wesley and/or Salisbury should have no problem at all fending off the hopeless chumps currently playing in the UAA or as Independents.  I mean, have you seen those Independent standings?  What exactly is a "Maranatha Baptist" or a "LaGrange" (besides a great ZZ Top song)?

Isn't Hamilton a part of the LL for some sports?  They confuse me.

Correct.  Hamilton splits it's sports between the NESCAC and the LL already, and alot of it's sports already have longstanding rivalries with LL schools (Union particularly) though most of those rivalries are in sports that receive little publicity.

Wow I step away for a little bit and all hell breaks loose... And it's not April 1st so I'm guessing this isn't another one of PC's Pranks

I don't prank the news, even on April 1.

I mentioned this on the Daily Dose board, but I have someone really, really, close to the Lyco program, and a move to the E8 has been discussed for a couple years.  Actually, I was told it was a sure thing a couple years ago, but perhaps things have cooled.  Kings was brought up as a possibility as well.
Thousands of fans join in the revelry, showing their Bomber pride and support for the football team. Some fans take the rowdiness a little too far, however, by starting fights, damaging property and tipping Port-a-Potties. -Ithacan, November 10th

I also think U of R jumping ship would be a nice fit as an E8 member.  They are close in distance and a quality school.  Plus their basketball program would be a nice fit if we could add them to that.
