Fisher needs to be ready to play tonight.  Imagine if UR pulls the upset?  That would make for a crazy weekend in the east region.  I hope thats not the case.  Anybody know yet if UR position players are healthy yet?  GO CARDINALS!!!!

Yeah, if Ithaca ran the table they'd at least share the title.  There is no way Hartwick won't lose 2 games in the E8.

Running the Table... that's like praying for that flush on the river when your up against the rail...

While it's true... You still have outs... but when you lose to Hartwick... it's tough to imagine beating Springfield, Alfred, Fisher, Brockport, and Cortland (no disrespect to Utica & Norwich)

Just trying to spread some hope on the situation!  While improbable, stranger things have happened, and you do have Fisher at home.

"Hope is a good thing" isn't that what Andy Dufrane said?

Alfred... Welcome to the top 25

Great day for the folks in Purple.  Collecting a solid victory and then watching Springfield and Ithaca fall.

Thanks MIOH.  To be honest I was rooting for both Springfield and Ithaca.  I would prefer that the E8 had kept up its strong front for the whole season since that could only help all 4 teams.  However, I can't say I ever remember Alfred cracking the top 25 so I'm hopeful of finally seeing that on Monday!

Next weeks East Region poll, and Upstate NY poll, will be alot different thats for sure.  Alfred should make a huge jump.  Anybody know if Alfred has ever been ranked in d3footballs top 25?  just curious if its a definate first for them..

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

If they are, it will be the first time they would have been ranked.  I went to the alfred page on this site and there is no "Last Time Ranked" date whereas you go to other teams (such as Brockport) and it shows the last time they were ranked.

See ya'll later for the Courage Bowl.  I'm sure most of the Fisher posters will be there?  I wont be but I will be listening intently.  I love the courage bowl.  what a wonderful thing for the terminally ill kids.  its so nice to see them so happy.  And, their "coaching" on the sidelines is a true inspiration for the players.  Makes everything come full circle.  GO CARDINALS!!

Any news on injured Cortland player?  nothing too serious i hope.

And yes I am going to have a tough time filling out my top 10 this week!  If fisher loses than who knows what might happen.  Alfred to 1??  :o

I don't believe Alfred has been in the top 25.  Probably the closest they came was two years ago after beating SJF, although I seem to remember a controversy as the first poll following that game did not reflect respect for AU's victory.  A good number of people referred to the poll as a joke.  The next pol showed AU much higher in the also mentions.  Before the current system AU won the Lambert Bowl (a trophy, not a game) in the early 70's as the "Best Small College Team In The East."  They also made it into the playoff system I think around 1989 as it was at that time.

Also, with a lot of experience behind us, I think Saxon fans will admit next week will be the first real test of this team.  Just being 2-0 playing Thiel and StL makes us cautiously optimistic.
