MIOH was at the Bar.  He's still walking off the Wick loss.

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

While it's very much in the formative stages, AU football fans are invited to visit a new website dedicated to Alfred Football:

www.alfredfootball.com

At present, Pep is tickled that the site includes a photo of the band (albeit from previous years) with a cutline, "AU Pep Band - one of the best parts of game day!"

Pep is pleased and proud of the band's performances to date. The band moved its pre-game rehearsal to the parking lot for tailgaters to enjoy. One tailgater said his tailgating was interrupted by his need to remove his hat every time the band practiced the National Anthem.

Well I got back from Oneonta late last night and was feeling in no mood whatsoever to get on the boards.  I just read the archives of the last 17 pages or so and have to say thanks to the Fisher fans for being so relatively restrained in their snickering at us.  Lord knows IC and its fans deserve all the scorn in the world after that stinkbomb.  What an "honor" to be in attendance for the worst loss in the history of the program.

The defense is terrible.  Absolutely unequivocally terrible.  Nobody covered anybody yesterday, each Hartwick pass was caught without a white jersey within 10 feet.  Boltus called his own number approximately 837 times and got a big gainer about 835 of those times.  I have to question Welch,  the DC and those coaches for making no adjustments.

IC was flat all game emotionally while the Hartwick sideline was fired up from the opening kick.  One has to believe the players couldn't summon up the focus to bury Hartwick with Fisher looming next week.  There really isn't much other explanation; 'Wick should never be in a real game with IC.  Never.

I will say that I was impressed with Juvan, he looks like he can make all the throws (at least all the ones necessary at the D3 level).  Bostic was on the field for a few snaps but rarely did Juvan look his way.  It was fun to see Bam Bam flatten a defender on his way into the end zone, to the wild delight of the parent section.  Felt like a couple of IC parents were kinda unecessarily mouthy and wouldn't have blamed 'Wick parents at all for letting 'em know about it after the game.

Not optimistic about the Fisher game, not in the slightest.  I don't believe in moral victories but after what I saw yesterday anything within 20 points would seem like a decent effort from Ithaca.

maxpower

Caz, you're such a homer.

Jonny Utah

Although I havent seen that many games within the last 3 years (6-7), the thing about the defense that bothered me the most is the tackling.  That Union loss a few years back and the SJF game last year guys had open tackles and didn't make them.  That isn't about coaching, thats about attitude.  That is also something that can be fixed.

It's time to step it up, get some hard hittin, pipe wieldin MF'rs and get medevil on SJF's ass next week.  Get it done.  I have faith.

Pep is grateful to a Saxon mom who is setting up the site. Hoping that it gets support from other AU fans/parents.

Good to see Saxon73 still has an occasional online presence. Will Saxon73 be making it to any games?

Pep is pleased by AU's offensive output in its first two games, averaging close to 600 yards per game. Pep is particularly impressed with AU's improved ground game, which has improved its output over last year, thus far. The Saxons have a 1-2 punch with Vinson Hendrix and Elmer "E-Train" Newsome. AU has depth at the position as well with Dustin Morris and Morgan O'Brien. Thiel traditionally has a strong D and St. Lawrence's D is no slouch, having shut down the Saxons in the second half last year in Canton. Springfield will be a good test Saterday.

New top 25 released from D3football.com....

East Region notes:

Fisher goes from 5 to 6 as UW-La Crosse jumps them.

Springfield falls to 18

Rowan stays at 21

Montclair State busts in to 24

And Alfred is still on the outside looking in, they would be the "27th" team in the nation.

What's the reason for UW-LaCrosse swaping spots with Fisher in the top 25?  Not familiar at all with UW-La or their opponent...were they a tougher team than UR?
I notice UW-La had to go to OT to win.  Not sure what's taken into account in  voting.

pg04

The team they played is in the NAIA, Asuza Pacific.  Honestly I do not see this as a reason as to why they should have jumped Fisher.  The team is ranked 34th in NAIA which many feel is not as strong as d3.  Apparently it was good enough for some voters somehow.   ???.  I just don't see the logic in it.

SJF recieved more votes this week than they did last week, its not a case of anything they did just a case of another team vaulting in front of them.  FYI UW-LaCrosse beat down 11th ranked Hardin Simmons and then just beat Azusa Pacific a decent NAIA squad.  SJF and UW LAX have been pretty tight in the ammount of votes recieved all year, so its no disrespect to SJF here.

Pep is happy the pollsters are giving AU some more votes. There is no "27th" in a "Top 25," only others receiving votes. The Saxons will be tested this Saterday where a win for the home team should drop the Pride out of the Top 25 and perhaps open a spot for AU. A Saxon loss, meanwhile, will confirm this week's pollsters.

Go Saxons!

P.S. With Springfield coming to town, the band would like to play some Simpsons tunes but AU Pep Band only has music for "Itchy and Scratchy".
