come wearing a yellow t-shirt.... leave the cowbell in the car.... and forget fisher exists.... you do those three things and we'll welcome you with open arms and a PBR in each hand.

fisheralum91

FishAlum91,

I'd be carefull with that Utica Club.  My grandfather came from Germany and made beer at home.  My father drank Utica Club and said he did so because compared to other beers, it tasted the most like his father used to make in the bathtub. :)

Hmm.
Well, I guess that it must be good bathwater to your old man and me!
Though i do get funny looks when i tailgate.   This coming from guys that are drinking keystone and bud light.    Nothing wrong with the golden bullet!

There is no comparison to Ithaca's past success when talking about Fisher, absolutely none. What we can discuss is the fact that whether the IC boys like to admit it or not, Fisher has been on their level for the past few years.

Should we be mindful of IC's history, and respect the fact that they have a good team most every year, absolutely. Should we back down from saying that Fisher can play with IC any day of the week now just b/c some IC guys get anxiety attacks and throw out the predictable "oh ya, well you haven't been good for that long"... no.

There is only so long the Ithaca program can eat out of their freezer (ie: early 90's)... eventually there needs to be a focus on the present.

The Fisher talk is all relevant as long as it's kept in context.

See, as a bomber fan this is what makes me so angry.  I remember when Fisher was thought of as today's Norwich.   Ithaca used to monkey stomp them.  Dubbz would have the oppurtunity to visit the tail gate zone any time throughout the game for some sweet PBR refreshments without any worry that Fisher would be close to doing anything productive.

Now a-days Fisher is a real threat that we have watched grow into a national power.  Mean while Ithaca, one of the country's most known and dominant programs is struggling, currently.  Ithaca is a team that is expected to be dominant every year.  There is no "rebuilding year" with the Bombers.  In a program like theirs you are expected to be re-loaded every year.   This year we have all the weapons and good defense.... it just feels like we are not clicking.  When you compare the two programs Ithaca is one that is expected year in and year out to be great, a.k.a. king of the hill.   Fisher is still rising.  The Ithaca fan base have been around since the National Championships and 7 National Finals with Butterfield and expect this every year.  (We're like Yankee/Red Sox fans)

When you have a taste of 1st place at the kings table you expect to be there every time dinner is served!
I think this is the exact point Tags was making:  You are "so angry" at Fisher for having been so bad and now being so good.  Do not be mad at Fisher...be mad at IC.  If that fails...take an anger-management course, but dont be too concerned yet because I have an inkling that IC will take care of its business at Butterfield this weekend.

SJF is not looking as good as their rankings or their hype.

Fish91,

UC certainly has a distinctive taste and I will admit having consumed it some years ago.  I did like the Matt's more.  Having been away from the area for some time, I may have to test it next time I get back to the valley.

Too bad the Bills decided to train in Rochester, or Fisher would still be a doormat.
Thousands of fans join in the revelry, showing their Bomber pride and support for the football team. Some fans take the rowdiness a little too far, however, by starting fights, damaging property and tipping Port-a-Potties. -Ithacan, November 10th

You have the chance for the UC but not the Matts.
They dont make it anymore.
Too bad too- i used to enjoy it as well.
Im not to keen on the Saranac line either.

Saxon73

I agree with you about the Saranac.  One of my brothers gave me some one holiday.  NOT impressive.

take away too bad and insert wish and that seems to be your point

fisheralum91

Matts Brewery has concentrated on the microbrews and have been successful.
They even call it the saranac brewery.
Still, of the entire line i enjoy maybe one.

That sounds like sour grapes to me.
