The Yankees almost pulled off an amazing come from behind victory today by scoring 4 runs in the bottom of the ninth inning when down 4-0, and most with two outs.

Greg Zaun, a .246 hitter put the kybash on them with a dinger in the 14th inning but it was symptomatic of pinstripe play since the All Star break.

Go Yankees!

Wish I could be at the SJF-IC game this weekend, I am sure it will FANtastic.

The early start (12 noon) of the Alfred-Springfield game here in Mayberry will allow Pep to hurry home to watch the remainder of the Ithaca-Fish Bowl on the 'net....live from ButterField.

Joba's slider is just nasty, they know it's coming and just can't hit it.

The Rochester D&C preview of the IC/SJF game...

Some of the game's luster was lost when Ithaca was upset by Hartwick last week, but make no mistake: This is a huge game. If Ithaca wins and runs the table, the Bombers will hold the tiebreaker over Fisher in the Empire 8. Ithaca is the only Division III team that has not lost a fumble or an interception. Fisher is outscoring opponents 40-13 but has only a 359-304 edge in average yardage per game. Ryan Hanson is averaging 128.7 yards on the ground, and efficient quarterback Rob Kramer has thrown 11 touchdown passes and three interceptions. The Cardinals are quick starters: They've outscored opponents 288-51 in the first quarter since 2005.

+k Pep.

Girl broadcaster from Buff State about 2000: "Welcome to (call letters)'s broadcast.  I am (girl name) coming to you live from Butter Field, high atop the South Hill in Ithaca, New York."

Crickets around the pressbox.

Girl broadcaster: "I have just been handed a note from an incredibly handsome member of the Ithaca Sports Information Staff.  I am actually broadcasting live from Butterfield Stadium.  Apparently, that is a name."

Yet another testament to the high admission requirements of Fisher...

EDIT: +k.  But no more +k for any Fisher poster until postgame.

Many thanks to Gordonman in the Daily Dose for pointing out that Alfred can score and stop the run - just what is needed to stop Sp'field.

The return this year of Blake Fuller at LB is a big boost.  Having not played last year he was missed and could have made a difference in the 1 TD losses to Sp'field and Hobart.

Fuller was the third linebacker along with Brady and Gatto two years ago and wasn't recognized so much except for the people who did see him play.  The guy can hit.

Hopefully AU gives minimal attention to the potential pass untill Sharpe (if ever) shows he can throw the ball.

tags all in good fun... I've already said that this is going to be a good close game.... I think fisher pulls out a close one...because of last years experiance and the fact is I'm not sold on Juvon being able to drive down the field with 2 minutes remaining to win the game

Juvan has been getting better and better, literally, with every game; he is not the problem. Our secondary has blown for years and is just as bad this year, and our O-Line is giving Danny n' the boys nothing to work with. THESE are the problems. One QB does not a team make.

Ouch Max......that hit a nerve......

It seems that it may be a challenge when one of our own can single out our "problem" so directly....I expect that from super or booby....but Max..."say it ain't so MAX!

Seems like there are enough bullets flyin at us from Pittsford without some "friendly fire".....

That's not right Bob, you can't lump me in to the "I expect that out of" crowd.  I rarely say anything negative about Ithaca, and even less so about the actual team.  Just some of the posters sometimes.  Come on mannnn, I am not at Superman's level (No offense Super, -k just to prove it)

booby and super...no offense meant. Max, if you see #31 climbin out of the stands today tryin' to get in the game.....hold him back will ya.....Joe's travelin' Dad's stuck home.
Best of luck to both teams...NO INJURIES.....and remember..

This is OUR House......and NOBODy...and I MEAN NOBODY.....

Any advice as to where to park, eat, etc? I'll be leaving in 1/2 hour or so.

Edit: Or anyone for that matter

When you come in the main entrance to campus make an immediate right at the roundabout.  Go up the hill, past the stadium on the right, and make your first right.  That will take you up a second hill into a parking lot above the stadium where most visiting fans park.  You can find the FDC in the lot directly across the street from the East End Zone.
