sjfcclimbing:  Do you really think Vosburgh recruits based upon the style of turf they play on?   "Um, sorry Mr. and Mrs. Robinson, I dont think your son is the right fit for our offense because he plays on grass in H.S."

Of course not, but they recruit to a defensive and offensive strategy which happens to be speed especially on defense. That in turn gives them an edge on turf and slows them down on grass. Many on the team suspected that Ithaca might allow the grass to grow a little long to slow down Fisher's offense. However, the field was in great shape.

Fisher fans suspected this???

The only time I have heard Ithaca people talk about altering field conditions is against Springfield.

Students attending AU have been called turkeys in the past, now it seems that the namecallers were right.  Perhaps we can dispatch Pep during the offseason to start the AUIC Pep Band.
Check out the official card game of the AU Pep Band - Str8 Eight!

The Springfield rumors from last year fueled the questions but as I said Fisher felt the field was in great shape.

This is a gigantic myth.  IC doesn't alter its grass based on opponent.  This was totally created by IC posters here just to screw with people at SC.  The field was in perfect shape.  If it hadn't rained, it would have been pristine.

hartwick has the new field turf now, and a new building at the entrance of the field with real bathroom !!!

Thanks for the update, D3 still lists them as Old-Style Turf. Anyone know the quickest route from Rochester to Hartwick?

Unfortunately there's no straight route since Oneonta's pretty much in the middle of nowhere. Your best bet is to take the Thruway to Syracuse and then hit 81-South. From there, catch 88-East in Binghamton and that'll get you to Oneonta.

Mapquest says its around 3.5hrs. Good thing the game is at 7:00 PM.

Pep has always wanted AU to play a football game on Thanksgiving Day. Now that AU is talkin' turkey, it's imperative.

BTW, is that Istanbul or Constantinople?
