Once again as the cobwebs clear, my PhD advisor at Penn St got his B.S. at Hartwick.

Is Yanks the good left-handed beer pong player that used to team up and dominate the table w/ MIOH?

The Rochester D&C did a Q&A with SJF TE Chris Harmon, check out his last remark....

I sure wish they would finish Growney Stadium though; it really needs bathrooms!

Wicksters,

Wasn't HC a religiously affiliated school at one time?

I am 99.9% sure it was...though I am not sure of the affiliation...

I'll be rolling into town for the big game this weekend.  It'll take about 4hours and 15 minutes to get there.  I'll be sure to say "HI"  Pep.  If you miss a day on this it's like reading a book to catch up!  Funny story about the 'Wick.  We saw AU beat Hartwick when my son played for AU.  The sub shop downtown (JRECKS?) had a sign above the counter that said there was a discount with a student ID.  This OSWEGO graduate ('79) asked if he showed a student ID if he could get the discount.  The young lady working the counter said "I'd like to see that!".  Upon producing my student ID (which I still have), complete with CENTRO sticker, I received the discount!

Speaking of Hartwick, where the hell did all their posters go?  Was this a one-day phenomenon?

I'm sorry I had work to catch-up with.

Not to mention visitors stands from which visitors can actually see the field....

Good morning, E8 Nation!

Anyone interested in listening to the WLEA-AM broadcast of Saturday's Empire 8 contest between the Hartwick Hawks and Alfred Saxons can pick it up on the internet by visiting www.wlea.net and clicking on the "Listen to us Live on the internet" at the right. Bob Codispoti has the play-by-play.

If you're lucky, you'll be able to hear the AU Pep Band in the background, making noise at Merrill Field.  ;)

Pep is wrong! Pep is wrong! Impeach the chair! Impeach the chair!

Pep has learned that WLEA, while broadcasting the AU-Hartwick game on WLEA-AM, they will not webcast the AU game as they will be webcasting via its FM station the Haverling (Bath) vs. Hornell football game that is being played simultaneously. Hornell and Runnin'Robby25's alma mater are undefeated heading into that game.

Crap, I was going to thank you for the link. What am I going to yell at the computer screen about now?

It'll be a dandy day at Merrill Field. Sunny and mid-70s. Will be a shirt-sleeved rowdy Homecoming crowd. Hoping Mark O'Meara (has he EVER missed a Homecoming?) will be around to lead the "Silent Cheer" and the "Hallelujah Cheer!" among others.

Funny thing is, seems like the pep band has stolen Mark's thunder. Pep has instructed band members that when the big guy gets up with his 1970s red horn, don't play instruments, just follow his instructions and everyone will have a good time. Pep thinks he remembers getting a dirty look from O'Meara the first (and last) time the band played a song when he wanted the crowd's attention.

O'Meara is quite a story. As an underclassman, he dressed as a clown, sold programs at the football games, and led cheers. Come senior year, the (legendary) Coach Alex Yunevich needed a long snapper and thought the clown could get the job done....not to say the Saxons are a bunch of clowns. So the big guy was long snapper his senior year, then picked up with the clown digs thereafter. (Some folks get so attached to Alfred in their four years here that they don't want to ever leave.)

Pep will be looking for the 7s from Ogdensburg. Sarge says he's invited Pep Jr. and Frost over for tea to discuss literary works sometime this month....and Pep thought Pep Jr. had given up drinking tea.  :-\

BTW: Pep lost his student ID decades ago....but is thinking about getting a new AU ID.

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

Not much difference between I-89 and I-88.

...and I-86!

Gosh, did Pep omit I-87?

With temperatures in the low to mid 70s, and the interstates in the mid to upper 80s, how can one go wrong making the trip to Merrill?

need I go on

A) Go to post #24446, I've already recapped what happened in that game. 'Wick would lose to Becker if they repeated that.
B) Correction three wins. I always thought the winner was the one ahead at the wire.
C) Are you already giving us the AU game so we can concentrate on Springfield.
D) Are the league standings going to be decided by point diff.?
