Yes LewDogg I am trying to be kinder to some of the Wick posters, the ones that are obviously making the effort to put in actual input.  I jump on them whenever they talk about Hartwick in a positive way but I don't really know why, I would be excited if I were them too.

They can absolutley hand out more Financial Aid I dont know why you would think they cant.

They are a private school ... the only thing that is equal in financial aid with each private school is federal grant money ....They can give out private scholarships all they want... each school has their own little scholarships that are at the discretion of the school.

but they don't just hand stuff to people because they are athletes...you have to earn what you reap

One of the beautiful things about Division III is that student-athletes get the same type of financial aid as any other student because they are students first and athletes second. Many guys that pick D3 schools will usually pick it because not only will they get good playing time right away but also because the school is a good school.

I absolutley agree.  I just wanted to make a point that there is definatley a difference in the level of funds that different schools are giving out... there isnt a standard that the private schools follow... alot of what they do is their own discretion unlike the state schools.

Is ADE Hall still standing.  I don't know if it helped recruiting, but we always had plenty of food there. 

Sure, Ade Hall is in fine shape. Recently remodeled, the dining room is gorgeous and site of the annual fall semester University breakfast. In fact, they always had the football banquet there until last year, when it was too small to hold the crowd. It was moved to the McLane Center gym!

Ade Hall (downstairs lobby) was the recent site of "Alfredian Idol."

In the midst of all the jargon and blather and such surrounding home runs (blast, bomb, dinger, chicks dig the long ball) I actually don't mind "walk-off home run." It wasn't first used by some moronic talking head in Bristol -- it was Dennis Eckersley who used it after surrendering one in the 88 World Series.

What I don't like is using walk-off to reference ANYTHING else in baseball -- a walk-off single, walk-off wild pitch, walk-off sac fly, blah blah blah.

Garnet is fully aware of the origination of "walk off homerun".  Garnet does not like the proliferation of the saying which is why he singled out the talking heads.  They are the ones who have forced it upon the viewing public.  

The reason Garnet doesn't like the saying is because it takes the game winning homerun from the batter and gives the walk off homerun to the pitcher.  

What's next?  A walk off field goal?
