I am not player by the way shot out to bomber27. You know the fact of the matter is that things are not personal, so sorry to hurt egos or feeling. Yeah Fisher has beat Alfred in previous years but let the record show that it has not been a blow out in any of the games. Then all this "fisher tradition" there is no such thing. And as far as Fisher good offense having a bad game against AU. In my opinion when your at home and the post season is on the line, you dont have off games Superman57.

Ithaca has always had a strong program for years and lets be real. Ithaca progam has dominated the Empire 8 for some years now. My beef was how can Fisher be even considered to be in the same catagory as Ithaca. Fisher scores alot of point and yeah they went far in the playoffs a couple years back but there is a difference when you do it year to year. And as far Brockport goes portgrad2004, how can you sit there and even jump into the E8 talk. When you play fisher the game is always over in first half, your out of your league

AU is a program that has turned things around and are improving with each year. Why would you hate on that. Anyone that played Alfred within the pass 3 years would agree

P.S. Were all fans

Just be fair, honest and don't insult anyone or any team intentionally.  Use facts to substantiate opinion and state it as such.  That will keep you out of trouble for a while, but sooner or later someone will take offense to something or come back with ill-logic. Spelling and grammar are clues to posters also.

Best of luck,

Saxon 73

Always over in the first half??  FLA10 is right, before making such an assanine statement like that, maybe you should take a look at the history! Second, A brockport poster can jump into the E8 talk, seeing that we play what I would consider the top 3 teams in the league this year (Ithaca, Fisher, Springfield).    Even your own fellow saxon posters can save you in this case.

boobyhasgameyo

man oh man booby goes to work and comes back to this!

so many thoughts that i don't even know where to begin.......

1. King22 I hate you

2. There is a fundamental flaw in your argument, you keep tearing down Fisher's accomplishments and overall rise over the past 4 years which far exceed the accomplishments of Alfred during that span yet you are so quick to praise Alfred as a legit on the rise program.....again I hate you

3.  Please stop saying how bad you guys messed us up last year, are you forgetting the touchdown taken back on a holding call on the other side of the field or the careless handoff fumble inside the Alfred 20.  That's two potential scores right there and we only lost by what was it 6?  What I am getting at is it wasn't like you dominated that game, we kicked ourselves just as much as you guys were doing the kicking.........again I hate you

4.  It is in these times that I respect the Ithaca posters more, because they have a legit case of dominance in the E8 but they don't throw out those pointless ramblings you have so blatantly displayed tonight.......again I hate you

5. This weekend should be sweet, I pray the Fisher passing game will find itself so it will be another close one..... If not i fear the outcome

Oh and P.S. it takes balls to make an argument that U of R is a weak team that Fisher barely beat (even though we dominated the game and won by 20 when it should have been more) and Alfred beats St. Lawrence by 3 in a barn burner.... ST. LAWRENCE!!!.......again I really really hate you

What are you saying booby? Could it be that you HATE King22!

bomber27

Now booby, King22 is a virgin poster with only 4 posts.  Though he should not be firing random shots across your bow, he is showing blind faith in his program.  Now, I remember some games against them and they played hard and I will always remember my battles with Brenton but I do beleive that it should be kept in check until they are a proven team on the rise.  I am proud however on how tough our confrence has become.  Though IC and Fish are on top the rest are coming along nicely and it is nice to see competition.  I am looking forward to reading the play by play from Cali as I can not make it back.  Please keep me posted as I am very interested.

boobyhasgameyo

Agreed bomber27, it is nice to see a stronger conference.  My shots against Alfred were more so done just to spite King22, truth be told I really don't mind Alfred and was a big fan of Brady.  But there is a fine line between blind faith and stupidity, you can probably guess which side I believe King22 falls on

ICemanJK

Ithaca/Fisher in my mind should be seen as not a rivalry in it's truest sense, but a battle between two highly respected programs: just a good old-fashioned football game.
Respect is given on both sides year in and year out; unlike Cortaca which can get downright ugly.  For as long as I can remember, be it I am only 20 years old, but growing up right down the street from SJF, Fisher has always had a very competitive and highly respected program.
As for Alfred, last year I remember discussing with several people after the IC/AU game which game was bigger for the Bombers...Fish/IC or IC/AU.  The general consensus was Fish/IC (no knock against AU who gave us one hell of a game) based on the fact that except for last year, AU hadn't put up much of a fight in the E8.
But I remember getting excited last year about the idea of having another legit team helping to make the E8 even stronger.  As a young fan I can't help but look forward to many more highly competitive years in the E8.
All hail the Booga

Sorry about that Saxon73, I guess I need to get my fact right.  AUpep, you need to have a talk with this fool.

P.S. Boys.  Bar Results are official.  JoseQViper is no longer with us.  He has been replaced by JoseQViper, Esq.  As my first official business, I am suing that ref at Fisher that thought the ball got picked in the end zone!

Hey Bob- What's your take on the game, I think it will come down to who makes the fewest turnovers, both teams seem about the same on paper???

er1948
You summed it up very well. I think Lang and Stepnick can be a real problem...and I don't need to discuss "your" R & R boys.....

IC is much healthier this year......the "reload" of new faces has been very successful...we don't seem to be relying on one or two receivers...he has four maybe five legit threats at WR....Juvan is performing very well....the Three Bomber backs..Baez, Davis & Robinson are all strong.....

Coaching and turnovers.....we know this field plays well even in rain.....

Strap up and let's get goin'....

I'm a little miffed at the "break" that everybody has taken talking about Alfred vs. SJF.....maybe the diversion is good....

As far as Brockport posters go.....they are a part of the E-8 board...wish they were in the conference.....

I know when i get back here tonight I'll have five, maybe eight new pages  to read....can't wait !

FDC bus getting loaded up for the trip!

I am really digging how this board appears to have day shift and night shift posters.  Just some quick thoughts:

1. Max: We split that home and home with Lyco beating them at Butterfield on homecoming and then stumbling down there.

2. Lyco: I haven't heard anything but, to be honest, would not want to see you guys in the E8.  There are a few reasons.  First, everytime you add a quality program, it gets harder to get that auto bid.  I know the counterargument says that it makes it easier to get an at-large bid.  But those are so hard to come by, especially in the East where parity appears to be king as of late.  Second, I loved having you on the schedule because it was a game that could only help the winner.  By that I mean, as it stands now, it is an out-of-region game that helps SOS.  The same was true of the home and home we played with Wilkes.  Finally, I wouldn't want you guys in because it adds another conference game and further reduces our ability to schedule some of the out-of-conference opponents we are currently lacking.  As it stands, I wish we would add Hobart (short trip, good out of conference opponent) or a NJAC team (because, as a knowledgeable alum pointed out this weekend, it could only help to replenish what was once a fertile recruiting ground for good Bomber teams).

3. I can't remember which Alfred hothead called out Brockport but, it appears this is not a good season for that.  They look pretty strong to say the least.

4. ICemanJK: karma to you for admitting that you are a young fan.  You demonstrated as much by saying that Fisher always has a strong program.  While that is certainly true as of late, they were the doormat for a while there (as is expected from a startup program).  Sorry to bring up painful memories budcrew but, the first time we played Utica I remember sitting in the press box and using Fisher as the measuring stick (I think I said something along the lines of "I cannot believe there is a team worse than Fisher in this conferece.  We should have stayed an independent.")  They have really done wonders turning things around in a short period.

5. Alfred may be improving but it appears from a distance they peaked to a certain degree last season (which is to be expected when you have a stud like Brady graduate).  I haven't seen them live, but I would imagine the best they can hope for in the next few years is to play spoiler.  With Springfield headed in the right direction again, it appears the E8 title is going to be pretty hard to snag.

6. PepBand: You appear to have gotten a pass (maybe it was because someone called our Alfred's history).  Everytime I mention something that happened before, say, August 2006, I get buried for hiding behind IC's tradition (cue RPI posters).

7. Superman: I know you are bringing up Fisher's poor play against Alfred to rebut AU's charge that they smoked you guys, but I hope that is all it proves to you.  That is an inexcusable time to be flat.  Almost as inexcusable as IC's loss to Lyco or IC's play at Union.

8. I am surprised at how deferential some of the veteran Fisher posters seem to be to IC this year.  I see the game as you guys do as well but, I am surprised to hear you admit it.  It seems that Fisher will have more success running than IC's previous opponents (they are, after all, much better at running the ball).  But IC's run defense is much improved.  I don't think Fisher can rely exclusive on the run and win.  They are going to need to get it going in the passing game and I am not sure the young QB/WR combo works well in that department for you guys.  After all, we did shut down Hartwick's passing attack.  And, say what you will about Hartwick, they can certainly pitch the rock around a bit.

theicdubbz

well, I am def. a "day time" poster.  most of the time I am like Mr. N and have to catch up with the nights 6 pages of postings at 6:30am.  So... after reading from page 408 to 413 I have realized this.......

King22, the new hated poster, was the 3rd string kicker for Alfred who stubbed his toe while attempting to throw the ball around with other fellow kickers.  Realizing the injury Alfred coaches dropped him to JV kicker where he then missed 9 EP's against the local pop warner team. After crying for 12 straight hours he quit to join the chearing squad.  They later cut him when he couldnt toss the 104 lb "flyer" more than 6 inches in the air.  Poor King22.

Congrats again to Jose...I opened a law book once... realized there were no pictures and gave up on that dream.

Hopefully we will see  SJF posters joining the FDCers, and other fellow bomber faithful, for post game festivities outside the new nursing building. perhaps?

Bomber27, MIYH, will you gents be joining us any time this year?

Go Bombers!

A few things I am sure of......

1. Booby HATES King

4. Springfield by 21, (Appologies to Saxon and Pep, you are cool, King sucks)
5. Brockport over Frostburg
