Time for random ramblings from Pep.

Pep was told by a Fiat Lux sports reporter this morning, "The pep band sounds a lot better this year!" Pep wonders if we really sounded that bad last year or that when the team is winning, everything tastes (and sounds) better. Pep attributed the improvement to a good recruiting year.

Speaking of recruiting, Pep does not offer scholarships for AU Pep Band. However, beginning this year, Pep does offer a PAY to PLAY program for those eligible for the Federal Work-Study Program. Nevertheless, to date, Pep's new recruits have been getting a lot of playing time, which always helps in the recruiting process.

Recruiting for AU Pep Band has no season. Pep is ALWAYS seeking band geeks to add fuel to the fire. Just a few moments ago, Pep was at Lil Alf Cafe getting a cup of caffeine. A student whom Pep did not previously know was also at the coffee counter and Pep, being led by the school spirit, randomly inquired, "Do you play a musical instrument?"

"What? A musical instrument? Well, yeah, I used to play baritone."

"You mean like a euphonium?" Pep inquired.

"Yeah, I used to play but I'm not real good at reading music."

"Well, would you like to pick it up again and play on Saturdays? The AU Pep Band plays during tailgating and at the football games. We do simple stuff. We own a euphonium that no one's playing and we'd love to have you make some noise with it."

The kid said he's familiar with Miller Performing Arts Center and he'd see Pep tomorrow at 11 a.m.

Pep somehow is getting pretty good at randomly recruiting prospective peppers.

This random rambling brought to you courtesy of D3Football.com Post Patterns, providing therapy since 1999.

super- drunk posting is as bad as drunk dialing or texting.

S57,
Friends don't let friends post drunk.

+K ...And Pep may need to call upon the E8 Police to have S57 arrested for PWI.

I don't know about any E8 Police, but I do know we have a lawyer on this board to bail him out.

E8 Police used to hang out at Krispy Kreme, but, sad to say, the one in Henrietta no longer is open, :(  so there's no telling where they might be now.

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

are we allowed to do predictions for this weekend on here?

Commish.

Please feel free! Prognostications welcome!

Welll.... in that case

Bombers: 38
Norwich ca-debtors: 12

Fred-heads: 34
Fartwick: 26

Rockbottomport: 27
St John Silver Fishcakes:  25

Mt. Idunno:  41
U-ticka-meoff:  5

and NSRB bodly predicts the Mets will go undefeated the rest of the season.

lineback's prediction:

Cubs: a billion
D'Backs: OK

...speaking of which.  NSRB also remembers MIOH promising a Cubbies win last night if I'm not mistaken.  Hey Commish, any penalties for empty promises?

Illegal procedure...but it's only worth 5 yards. E8 Police are still MIA. Anyone see them anywhere? Things could get oughta hand if word gets around the E8 Nation that there's no law enforcement....

Superfluous posting by Superman57 could become the norm, god forbid.

Dubbz:

"On Saturday, stop by the alumni tent for food, fun, and prizes. Who knows, you may walk away with a new kayak or mountain bike! Then, cheer on the Bombers as they take on the Norwich Cadets at 1:00 p.m. in Butterfield Stadium." EHHH KAYAKS!

oh how NSRB misses the aweful commercials during football games...

"are you fun? do you like kayaking? ...then I have the thing for you"

and of course hungoverbomber's immitations were even better.

AUPepBand

Alright, anyone coming to Merrill Field (AU alumni, parents and friends)...remember there's a Tailgate Lunch under the Tent next to McLane Center....$5!

AU Pep Band, with more and more continuing to hop on the band wagon as Pep finds idle instrumentalists looking for purpose and a place to play, will be jammin' among the tailgaters....just call it a traffic jam.  ;)

GO SAXONS!!! DOUSE THE 'WICK!!

Go Port.

An SJF loss has to help the 4 way tie situation for the Bombers

Hopefully the Bombers can notch their first E8 win this week and see what some of the back-ups can do in the 2nd half.

Go Bombers

I hope I win the Kayak this weekend.

how does WICB have negative Karma?  All they post is info about their broadcasts.

someone on here is a little touchy.

CA-DEBTOR SCOUTING REPORT, compliments of the Commish....

Pep notes that the Ca-debtors' offensive attack looked much better (than last year) behind the leadership of frosh QB Guerschom Jean-Gilles, whom the Saxons had not previously seen in game films. Jean-Gilles is a small Vince Young type who can throw and run and, being from Coral Gables, FL, is apt to throw to another Floridian frosh, #1 George Whigham of Miramar. And, of course, the bulk of the rushing game is in the hands of another Floridian, junior RB Darnell Jackson, who is decent.

While AU rolled to a 28-0 halftime lead, later extending the lead to 42-7, Norwich never gave up, scoring twice against AU second-stringers and recovering two onside kicks. The Cadets used all their TOs as well in the 45-21 defeat.

Norwich is leaving the E8 and the Cadets do not want to exit from the cellar. They may just put up a good fight.
