I'll probably have a -11 Karma after predicting a Ithaca loss, but my honest prediction is it's gonna be a battle.  i think both teams are pretty good.  But Union is a bit better.

Union - 38
Ithaca - 24

TecmoYellowHat

Do you really think Union will win by that much?  Union might be up 20 at halftime, but it will probably be a really close game.
Go Bombers!

TYH - LD11 is actually thinking the opposite.  He's predicting a tie game after 3 quarters, and 2 late TDs for Onion.  Although LD11 thinks Union will win, he hopes some booga booga fan punches Audino in the face.

TecmoYellowHat

It would be quite a surprise to see Ithaca up at the half.  If they come out throwing to espo, they can really do a good job by opening up the running game.  I sure hope its not a cortaca first half.  A full game of good football would be nice.
Go Bombers!

Both teams have struggled at points and with certain things this season.....Imagine if they both put it all together on the same day?!?!?!

Reno Hightower

So, throw Cortaca out the window because in rivalries, anything goes....What I want to know is how Ithaca lost to Lycoming.......

gobombers

I was not at the game, but from what I hear it was possible that they came out flat, same as Cortland.  They had 2 RedZone turnovers in the first half, that would have made the game 21-0.  They had rolled Lycoming the year before, and may have been overconfident with their top 10 ranking.  Instead of possibly leading 24-7 at halftime, it was 10-7.

Remember, at that point, Lycoming was 1-4, but 2 of their losses were to playoff teams.  Counting the Ithaca game, they won their last 5 games.  Lycoming may have been the only team to play 3 playoff teams in the East this year, not sure.

gobombers,

Now that lycoming loss doesn't seem so bad.
Go Bombers!

I think we can all say the Bombers are a very good team.  They've played flat twice, and lost in OT both times.  IF they can put together a full game, I really do think the sky is the limit.

While everyone seems to be on their E-8 vs. LL kick... here's what has happened this year when the 2 conferences have faced off

Larries-36
Norwich- 0

Fisher- 58
Rochester- 32

Union- 35
Springfield- 7

Alfred- 42
Larries- 7

RPI- 41
Utica- 10

Coast Guard- 31
Norwich- 12

The LL wins the head to head 4-2 this year w/ no real powerhouse showdowns.  So Norwich, Utica, and Springfield were able to supply the LL with a few wins.  While the upper portion of the E8 (AU and SJF) enjoyed 1 LL cupcake each.

Union vs. Ithaca should be a great match-up.  It's hard to say one conference is that much stronger than the other top to bottom.  Obviously being a Bomber fan I think the top of the E8 is stronger than the LL... and I guess that's what we will find out "saterday".  I just wish this game was at butterfield!

I hope both Cortland and Hobart lose this weekend.  I can't believe one of them will be in the second round... that makes me ill.

Go Bombers!

Union89,

The only tool on this message board is you my friend. There will be no excuses made on saturday, as we won't have to make any at all. We could bitch about all the key starters we lost, how if we had them all we'd be a more complete team, but I have the confidence in them right now to take this game at your field. So when it's over at saturday, i want you to say on our board "the Empire 8 kicked your @$$".

Let's git er done saturday Bombers!!

bomber27

B27 says............if that was a little snow then I would really hate to see a blizzard.  As a member of that team, it was close except for two long passes with our players out of position.  Other than that we beat you again.  oh, i know, we didn't , i know what you guys say  so yeah you beat us.  Im sure RT will let me know.  But if you are gonna tell me it wouldn't have been different if it were a dry field, you are crazy........

And to northcountry,

I love it, do you think they TASTE IT

Go Bombers

Lew ~

Do you really put us in the same whiney azz, sinking boat as ithica....

1)  Lost to Union........."It was an ECAC game...iC didn't care."
2)  Lost to RPI............."Snowed too hard....killed our chances."

and this year......

3)  Lost to Lycoming....."Overconfident after crushing them last year."
4)  Lost to Cortland......"That was cortica......gotta throw that game out the window due to the rivalry factor."

Union89 thought RedStorms arguments were brutal...."Let's compare scores against like opponents."

Storm should run with....."Hey, RPI lost to both Union and Hobart.....those are rivalry games which should be thrown out the window."

The E8 is lucky it gets an AQ.....RPI is more deserving of a bid than ithica......

Lew.....you can't possibly hate us THAT much??

union89

Conspiracy Theorists ~

Did it only snow when the Bombers had the ball in Troy??  Union89 wasn't there, but Union89 would be willing to bet both teams had to play in similar conditions....

tecmobowler

I'd like to know why RPI is more deserving of being in the playoffs than Ithaca.
Thousands of fans join in the revelry, showing their Bomber pride and support for the football team. Some fans take the rowdiness a little too far, however, by starting fights, damaging property and tipping Port-a-Potties. -Ithacan, November 10th
