4) Ithaca...they need a ton of thing to happen to get in.  If Fisher loses to Alfred in a few weeks (assuming, Ithaca also beat Alfred the week before), then the whole thing gets crazy.  It could leave 4 teams at the top with a 4-2 record...and good luck figuring that one out.  The best that Ithaca can hope for is to win out, with convincing wins against Alfred and Cortland, and hope Rochester makes a big push late in the LL, with some of the top NJAC teams falling.  It is unlikely, but stranger things have happened.

Don't think we could have 4 teams at 4-2...If AU loses both, they finish 4-2, but then SJF would have beaten AU and finished 5-1.  If AU beats SJF, then worst they finish is 5-1 with perhaps a loss to IC.   IC cannot win the E8, because either SJF or AU is guaranteed at least 5 E8 wins.   IC can only get in as Pool C, but not likely because so far they lost to two of the teams ('Wick and SJF) that they would be competing with for that slot...

SJFF82 is right.  It is impossible for 4 teams to finish 4-2.  Ithaca's only hope is for a Pool C.  IC must run the table by beating AU and Cortland, and hope that SC can beat Hartwick, and that Fisher beats Alfred.  That would give Fisher the AQ and leave IC at 8-2, Alfred at 8-2, and Hartwick at 7-3.  Then, they might have a shot at a Pool C as the second team from the E8.

To be honest I think this can happen.  I think Springfield beats Wick next week, and I think IC defeats Alfred in a close one.  IC is a long shot for a bid but stranger things have happened.  And, to their credit, they have tradition on their side.

Yeh, even though in that very possible scenario, IC would have lost to 'Wick, IC would have had a very strong finish to the season, and the 'Wick loss would be strongly discounted and forgotten with 'Wick playing poorly today and, in your scenario, having lost to a now poorly ranked SC team...

What a turn-around for IC that would be, as they were left for dead earlier in the season.  AU better put the 'Bart loss in perspective (it was basically meaningless to their season) and come back strong this week.

Umm, how about steady rain from start to finish, whole second half played between the 40's with ankle deep mud and no Crea.

FisherAlum05

I think SJFF82 was saying that if Wick loses to Springfield next week, that would be considered a poor end to their season.  Plus, it would kill their NCAA hopes.

The consensus seems to be that AU and SJF control their own destiny, because if either wins out, they are in...AU automatically, and SJF almost automatically as Pool C.

Yet, 'Wick is basically staring at a play-off spot next week...If they can beat Springfield, then they just need SJF to be AU and of course beat Utica themselves in their final and they likely win the 3-way tie....'Gotta give 'Wick a ton of credit...who thought in week 9 any posts would include 'Wick vying for the play-offs, let alone the AQ?

You still think AU is better than 'Bart?

Totally reasonable assumptions. As much as 'wick would love to make the tournament an ECAC bowl would obviously be viewed as a very very successful year to build on.

No.  Hobart beat them fairly easily so I would say Hobart is better.  Maybe not on a neutral field though.  I just dont think losing to Hobart warrants moving them that far down in the rankings.  But we'll see in a few days when the new rankings come out.

I also think that the NCAA rankings are based strictly on record, not any kind of vote. So Alfred would still be ahead because of 1 loss vs 2.
