I have to say I got a kick out of the caption under the A-Rod picture.

A LT at work asked me what I thought of him.  I replied, "he will go into the Hall of Fame as a very well-traveled All-Star who was loyal to himself."

Who would you rather be - Derek Jeter, four rings, Yankee Captain, recognized leader, played entire career (at least to date) for the same team; or A-Rod, gun for hire?

Pity, I thought Yankee pinstripes may have meant more to him.  Guess not.

Remember, the Yankees won the World Series with Scott Brosius as their third baseman.  Brosius - not typically a household name.

Congrats to the Red Sox - but always - Go Yankees!

ATB

+k for the Sox recognition by a Yanks fan.

RE: Not typical household names

How about Charlie Hays

In the aftermath of the Debacle at Da Boz and in losing internet service at home last weekend, Pep neglected to mention his delight in speaking with Julio Fuentes at halftime of the game.

Julio was a freshman dormmate of the band's current president so Pep and the Prez paid him a visit in the parking lot upon Julio's arrival. He spent the second half of the game on the AU sidelines. Pep hopes to see Julio at the library next semester as his current plans are to return to campus to continue his studies in the spring. Meanwhile, here's the link to an Alfredfootball.com tribute to one incredible Saxon Warrior:
http://www.alfredfootball.com/julio.html

On Saxon Warriors!

Don't leave us hanging, Pep--how is Julio's recovery coming?  Is his mood good?

Pep is just amazed at Julio's spirit. He's just an phenomenally strong individual. Pep has gotten the idea that Julio would like to be pushed more in his therapy...as he was in Atlanta. Despite the slow progress, he appeared in good spirits and optimistic about his return to Alfred. Pep informed Julio that the newly-renovated library now has THREE entries that he can use and that he looked forward to seeing him there. As Pep was speaking with him, his mother was rubbing lotion on his face...he's in very good hands. Pep shook hands with him and for a guy who at one time could not move any of his limbs, he had a decent handshake.

On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!

Pep, I heard from MW that your phone call was the most honored he'd felt since getting an e-mail from the original Ooga Booga guy.

Ha! Pep is thinking this poster is definitely overrated, if there is such a thing. Pep is a real nowhere man. Heck, except for the two year escape to, of all places, Mooville, Pep is sentenced to life in Alfred.

Pep drives a 1992 Grand Caravan that squeaks (perhaps there are birds under the hood actually running the serpentine belt to keep it going) and with each new day a hole in the muffler gets bigger and the van gets louder (everyone knows when Pep is coming up the street) and has now gone over 281,000 miles. Pep works two jobs-- library assistant and weekly newspaper editor, publisher & janitor...and does neither very well. Pep currently has no funds saved for a replacement vehicle which will no doubt be necessary soon. Pep is pleased he has put three of his children through college (third is a senior at AU this year) and is trying to get a 13-year-old through 7th grade...all the while trying to maintain peace in a home where mental illness would rather wreak havoc.

Pep finds E8Nation PP, much like his beloved Saxons, to be a good outlet and source of much enjoyment as he has made many acquaintances with some pretty incredible people. Likewise, Pep's association with the fine students who have embraced his ideas of what a pep band can do, as well as his association with incredible students who give of themselves during their Spring Break to build houses for others, bring him much joy.

Pep says all this to shake off the "celebrity" status and declare that Pep is just a regular guy who loves God and is partaking of those many opportunities He has provided in which Pep might be of service to Him and to his fellow man...and if there be any honor in that, to God be the glory!

Hey Pride

hey Sharpey, please for my sanity go out a winner not a weiner...please, let fan of d3 celebrate on the field and make him self look like an idiot...please send bosox, yanks and the admrial home crying (nothing against them) but please live up to the hype for once and beat a team giving up 187 rushing yards per game...stop being a tool and do something to earn that AA honor...if not I shall wash my hands of you and pray that Utica can pull of the biggest upset in their short short history

Biggest upset in Utica history was beating RPI 9-7 in 2004.
