Saw some great points over the last 24 hours.  Nice to have the E8 getting people's "hair up".   What is great about this year, we have 4 teams that have legitimate arguments they should all be in post-season play.  In fact, all four teams are right - they should all make post season play.   And that may still happen.  However, it is quite simple:

SJF   - win or lose they are in
Wick - win (AQ) or ECAC (the WNEC is a killer)
AU    - win (AQ) or ECAC (only if IC loses)
IC     - win or lose: ECAC either way

Winner or the E8 gets the higher seed (that's the way it should be), SJF will get the Pool C (assuming both wick and Fisher win).  AU and IC both get ECAC, however IC needs to beat Cortland and AU needs to have a good game against Fisher.  Otherwise, to many good teams in the east to get both an ECAC game.

By the way, Springfield is the best 3-6 team on the planet.

dood grow a brain...

SJF win their in, lose it is a toss up

Wick win and have Alfred lose and their in...if Fisher loses it will most likely be an either or......

ALfred has to win...if they lose they might not even make the ECAC's

Ithaca usually does not do ECAC's but if they rout The gym teachers from Cortland and hobart loses, then we could possibly see 3 e8 teams in the playoffs,  I could see 2 possibly 3 pool c's,  Ithaca's best shot is Fisher beats alfred, Utica beats hartwick (although I think that Ithaca stands a chance If hartwick wins) DelValley beats Albright and Ithaca beats cortland in a monkey stomp

The only Pool C hope for the E8 is SJF.

I can't believe you would think IC over Wick, when Wick beat them.  Head to head means everything in comparisions.  It's only when you don't play each other, a subjective view comes into play such as SOS or quality wins..

Your deaming if you think 3 E8 teams will make the playoffs.

superman57

A 8-2 IC could make the playoffs as long as Fisher is the other Pool C the east is messed up this year and 3 E8 teams could make it if several other things happen

Yanks99:  First, Tags posted nothing about SJF, 'WICK or about anyhting else that you are referring to.  It was my post that BoSox got bent at for some reason.

My post did little to bash 'Wick, just mentioned what a shocker it was for them to beat SJF, IC and SC in the same season.

And you obviously have no clue who Curry is because you seem to think that a 'Wick comparison to them was meant to paint 'Wick as a doormat...Curry goes to the NCAA's quite often....they just get smoked in round 1, so I was simply predicting that 'Wick would meet the same fate should they beat Utica next week.

Re-read the past few pages...I am one who has given 'Wick alot of credit for their season.  You should not create animosity where none exists.

And I  second Booby's call for you to find one SJF poster who has called SJF a national power year in and year out.

No... I know who Curry is and I understand what the statement meant ... and I didnt like it...thats all

My how the "mighty" Fisher fans have reared their ugly heads.

Man...some of you guys need to chill out.  SJFF82...I am not bent out of shape here.  If this post truly gets anyone bent out of shape...they need to get a life.  Tags name was attached to the post you are referring to above.  We have had some discussions previously concerning the "Fisher" elitism.  Most of it OBVIOUSLY deserved.  You guys have had some great success that past few years.  I hope that 'Wick can reach the same playing field year in and year out that Fisher has over the last 5 years.  If you read through the earlier posts, you would see that I have never actually put down Fisher's success.  I have never said anything stupid like, "Fisher got lucky" or "they suck."  Give me a break.

Also, if you think I am going to go through literally 1847 pages and look for a specific quote...you are crazy.  What I was referring to was this exact type of overreaction from a small handful of you.  I like to throw some facts out there....get over it man.

Finally...you are right...I have no idea who Curry is.  I have no idea that 'Wick won it's first ECAC game againt Curry back in 2002 by a score of 69-14.  I have no idea that they have won the cupcake NEFC Boyd conference each of the last 4 years, only to turn around and get crushed in the first round of the NCAA tournament by a combined score of 148-72.  The reference connected 'Wick to Curry...it was a boring day on the web, I write something back...and then I get a few messages "DEMANDING" exact quotes.  Chill out SJF82...it will be alright.  I am even rooting for Fisher this weekend...

Superman...if an 8-2 Ithaca team makes the NCAA over an 8-2 Hartwick team...then the NCAA is truly crooked.  It would mean that head to head matchups don't really matter...and that we should just slate teams to make the tournament at the beginning of the year...results be damned.

JU...he is only talking about 'Wick going over SJF if they lose to Alfred...and both finish 8-2.  At that point...if 'Wick, Ithaca, and SJF all finish 8-2, it would be criminal NOT to take 'Wick, as they won the head to head against both teams.

Just curious on why Tags seems so quick to bash another team in the E8 on a national level.  On the national level, I would think it would benefit the whole league to get a Pool C bid this year and ensure there are two E8 teams in the NCAA's.

I've been pounding on the fact that a lot of teams have stepped it up this year and are making the East that much better as a whole, and that includes 'Wick. I think it's a great thing that a team like Hartwick has picked it up and made a name this year in the E8, why would I be against strengthening the conference?

It's also a fact that I still don't think 'Wick is that good, and would bow out in the first round, thus saying a remark SJFF82 made comparing Curry to 'Wick isn't that far off.

Just in case you're curious.

Yanks...read the rest of the post...I think the only way Ithaca has a shot is if Wick wins the aq....

and I will be the first one to state...when wick makes the playoffs, they will win their first round game if they area at home...I predict that Wick will be the 4 seed with whoever wins the LL asa the 5 seed or possibly the otherway around...

I will go on the record as

1.TCNJ
2. Fisher
3. Wesley
4.Wick
5. Wiedner
6. LL winner
7. Curry
8. Ithaca

this is a guess and by no means hold me to it...but if I'm even close to being right then I am the smartest person in the d3 world

Hell...I don't think there is a soul on here that doesn't know you don't think 'Wick is very good.  However,...I believe they are the only team in the East to beat two top ten teams this year (IC and SJF)...and if they beat Utica will finish 8-2...not too bad for a team who isn't "very good".

Also...'Wick still needs help to make the NCAA's...so they aren't in yet.  To go from two 4-6 seasons in a tough E8 conference to even MAKING the playoffs is a huge step.  Much like when SJF finally cracked the tournament in 2004.

I think if RPI and Hobart win, Hobart might beat out IC.  And theres always Montclair.

But the absolute best shot IC has in making the playoffs is...

IC beats Cortland
Utica beats Wick
Montclair loses
Union wins
Hobart loses
SJF wins

dude fact check...Ithaca was never a top ten team...and Fisher did not come out of nowhere in 2004 as in 2003 they stayed with every team they played and monkey stomped Cortland in the ECAC's

Johnny agreed the best shot that Ithaca has is for Union to take the LL...because if UofR takes the LL then RPI would have won and therefore I think RPI gets that spot before Ithaca...but you never know...all I know is that Fisher needs to win
