I think it was decided that Alfred needs to win for an IC playoff birth... wait, wait.. no we need Fisher to win and Hartwick to lose... no no, wait,  we need Alfred to lose and Fisher to lose with hartwick losing.  And then.......  hold the phone, what the heck did i just say?

sniff... sniff... i fear the IC playoff potential is about as small as most Cortland grads "kick balls."

not so rowdy bomber

Rowdy discovered that the Fisher/ Alfred game is alot like GI JOE vs COBRA.

Fisher being the Joes, upstart, snotty, "take on the world" attitude with some new technology and some big guns to boot, aka Scarlett

Alfred has been around forever, not quite a terrorist organization, but I suppose Saxons would have been called that, had the word been around long ago. Regardless the Purple-panted clan headed by Master Mind Coach Yunevich ...aka Dr. Mindbender have been bullying teams since the founding of Mayberry.

seriously...  we all know the Joes usually wind up winning, but we shall see come saterday morning... To Be Continued...

+k to Rowdy and icdubbz for their sense of humor....and more importantly for the sense to know that they are just here to "stir the pot" at this point in the season...So for your sake...go Utica, er I mean go Fisher, er, go Alfred....ahhh forget it...IC OUT, see ya next year!

It's funny how fragile making the playoffs can be....

With a big win there is a strong chance Fisher could be the #1 seed in the East.

With a loss there is a strong chance Fisher won't make the playoffs at all....Thanks for putting us in this situation Hartwick, you really know how to ruin a good time lol.

fragile yes...hopefully we hear no breaking glass at Growney on Saterday...

despite the loss last weekend... I suppose I was a bit shocked to not hear "ECACs!"  chanted from the Alfred stands... after the verbal abuse they took from us, it would have silenced the FDCers real quick.

Rowdy is certainly hoping* for a shot at playoffs but hey, even Cortland didnt get in with a 9-1 record... so you gotta have a sense of humor.  Rowdy wishes the best for the E8 teams, its been a wild season, here's hoping the league is well represented in NCAAs.

ECAC Potential Playoff Teams (Declared as of Last Thursday's Deadline)

1(*). 10-0 - Curry College (NEFC)
1(*). 8-1 - Coast Guard Academy (NEFC)
2. 8-1 - Plymouth State University (NEFC)
3/4(**). 8-1 - St. John Fisher College (E8)
5. 7-1 - Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (LL)
3/4(**). 7-2 - Alfred University (E8)
6(***). 7-2 - Cortland State (NJAC)
3/4(**). 7-2 - Hartwick College (E8)
6(***). 7-2 - Hobart College (LL)
6(***). 7-2 - Ithaca College (E8)
---------------------------------------------------
6-3 - Bridgewater State College (NEFC)
6-3 - University of Rochester (LL)
5-3 - Union College (LL)
5-4 - Nichols College (NEFC)

Generally, the Top 6 eligible teams that have not qualified for the NCAA Tournament will be selected.

* - NEFC Championship game will determine one of these teams as an AQ from Pool A.

** - One of these schools will win AQ from Pool A.  The two others may win a Pool C bid, but for now, we count them in the ECAC rankings.

*** - Tied.  However, Cortland and Ithaca play each other.  Hobart could still win Pool C bid or LL title.

Pep,

another way to keep your tailgates from being kaboshed is come dressed in Fisher colors... work your way into the stands, aka the Fisher side (since the Visitors seating is so putrid) and come kick off unveil the AU colors behind enemy lines.  the FDC had quite the good times sitting behind Fishers bench... at least for the 1st half getting into the heads of not just the players but the surrounding mom and dads.

It was a sight to behold however, the fury unleasher on the FDCers when the Cardinals started turning things around, and the Moms and Dads grew vicious along with the Fisher players who were shouting obsenities and using American sign language to communicate their thoughts.

Sure hope Pep doesnt drink too much Cola prior to the game, otherwise you'll miss the whole 2nd half waiting in line to use the blue-bowl... or you might resort to using the Euphoneum as a "johnny on the spot".  Though just releaving yourself on the Fisher fans is just as efficient too-

Suck it up friend - the FDC needs to be able to receive as well as they dish.

The East Region Top 10's Playoff Paths:

No. Name                             In-Region    Overall
---------------------------------------------------------
1.  The College of New Jersey          8-1         8-1

Already a Pool A team (NJAC Champion).

2.  Curry                              10-0        10-0

May already be in tournament, even at 10-1.  For a Pool C bid, things that would help would be a loss by RPI, Hobart, Cortland and/or Alfred.

3.  St. John Fisher                    8-1         8-1

A win against Alfred would sew up a Pool A or Pool C bid.  A loss would place it on the bubble for a Pool C bid.  It would almost require a Hartwick loss.  Additional scenarios that would help would be RPI, Hobart, Curry and/or Cortland losing.

4.  Rensselaer                         7-1         7-1

A win against Union would guarantee a Pool A or Pool C bid.  However, a loss would place it on the bubble for a Pool C bid.  Hobart would not deter a Pool C bid from RPI either way, as it would either win the LL or would have 3 losses under this scenario.  Scenario would be helped by losses by Alfred, Cortland and/or Widener.

5.  Hobart                             7-2         7-2

A win against Rochester would virtually guarantee a Pool A or Pool C bid.  Hobart would be aided by a Curry win.  A loss would place Hobart out of Pool C contention.  It is pretty much in control of its own playoff destiny, though, as it seems to be in the lead for a Pool C bid.

6.  Cortland State                     6-2         7-2

Cannot win a Pool A bid, and needs help for a Pool C bid.  This would almost require a win by Curry and losses by RPI, Hobart and SJF.  A loss would place Cortland out of a playoff slot.

7.  Widener                            6-2         7-2

Already a Pool A team (MAC Champion).

8.  Hartwick                           7-2         7-2

Win and SJF win gives Hartwick E8 Pool A slot.  However, Alfred win would make Pool C bid tough.  Needs help from losses by RPI and Hobart, a win by Ithaca over Cortland and Curry to win the NEFC Championship.  Would be out of playoffs with a loss, however.

9.  Ithaca                             7-2         7-2

Needs a lot of help for a Pool C bid, even with a win.  Specifically, would need RPI and Hobart to lose, Curry and SJF to win and potentially a loss by Hartwick and/or other strong out-of-region two-loss teams.

10. Alfred                             7-2         7-2

Alfred controls its own E8 Pool A destiny.  With a loss, however, Alfred is eliminated.  Alfred is not in Pool C contention.

Are you saying that if Fisher wins, Hartwick is out of the NCAA's?

AUPepBand

Frank's wrong.....If Fisher should somehow win and Hartwick wins, the Hawks get the AQ (Pool A). Hartwick won head-to-head, AU would then be 4-2 in league, with SJF and Hartwick 5-1.

Caz Bombers

If Hartwick and Fisher win, Hartwick is the E8's auto bid winner, both 5-1 in league and 'Wick with head to head breaker.

Pep is surprised that Frank hasn't done his homework.  ???

Pep suggests Frank delete his post and get it right....wherever he may have posted it.

Verbal abuse? Heck, FDCers were mild-mannered compared to what Pep has endured in the past couple weeks at home. (Note to self: Enough said, Pep.)
