I think the point is that the East was generating some momentum sending a team from the East to Alliance and the Final 4 game.

Now we don't get that opportunity.

Yes,,, that really sucks...

Yea but now you have 3 chances for an east team to beat them.  And Im going to say besides SJF, Ithaca has as good of a chance as anyone in the east to beat Mt. Union.

Agreed....I think it's a great opportunity for the East to shine......we get 3 shots at MUC instead of 1.

That's true, that's a good way of looking at it I guess.

I think Ithaca can give them some trouble.  They're playing thier best football right now which is a good thing obviously.  If Juvan and the offense can put up some points, you never know.  The problem will be stopping Mounts high powered attack.  At times, the IC defense seems shaky.  Plus the 3-4 does not match up well against a powerful running attack.  The nose Byers needs to have a BIG game.

MUC has a very good running game, but calling it a "power running game" isn't accurate.  They spend most of their time with 3 WR's and 2 RB's, or 4 WR's and 1 RB with the QB in the shotgun.  Very rarely are they in the I-formation or offset-I with a TE.

As a MUC guy, I'm really looking forward to this post season as the North Region was really down this year with Wheaton and Capital decimated with injuries and Wabash without their 4 yr starter at QB.  Heading into the selection, we were looking at a terribly weak North Region where the no team would have been expected to be within 20+ points of MUC.  Now we get to see much better competition and completely new teams.  With these brackets, Whitewater gets MUC's cake walk to the Semi's.

One thing to keep in mind when looking over MUC's defensive stats is that the OAC offenses were really down this year.  Capital would have been pretty good, but they lost their QB and 2 best WR's.  Behind that, there isn't a talented offense in the entire conference due to graduation losses from last year.  The MUC defense is scary good, but they haven't been really tested yet.

Good luck to all the East folks traveling to Ohio.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

What a load of bunk...
The E8 champion got hammered by WNEC 42-21 in week one.
That is the same WNEC that finished 3-7.
If I am Plymouth or CGA I am po'ed.  The NEFC needs to stop playing its championship game.
And of course Curry needs to beat Hartwick next weekend.

Just a question... if MUC is the hands down number one shouldnt they get the easiest bracket?

Please.  Your NEFC has the best chance it has ever had to be competitive in a playoff game, at home against a suspect defense that has yet to put together a complete game on the road.  If Curry doesn't beat Hartwick the NEFC should just disband since they'll obviously never win one.  Also, it's pretty obvious Hartwick is the E8's 3rd best team right now and would not have made it but for the auto-bid (not a shot at 'Wick fans, but you guys have to know that much is true right now).  I'd be surprised if Curry could hang with Fisher or IC.

Putting up points on MUC is ridiculously difficult. As high powered as Fisher was last year, they were held to 14 very hard earned points.

They almost held Robinson out from the 1 on first and goal - it took all four plays, and even then it wasn't immediately obvious that he got in. That should tell everyone something about these guys... You better bring it

Look the loss was bad.. everyone knows it... they struggled and were looking for their offense, and they found it.  But you are telling me that your team would have gotten through Hartwick's conference at 6 and 1?

I am excited to see Bart vs. SJF.  Eventhough neither team won their AQ, I think these teams are playing the best ball in the east right now and this should be a great match up.

Please leave.  You know nothing about D3 football.  IF Curry can get past Hartwick, Fisher or Hobart will monkey stomp them very badly.  Before you post, think about what you're saying.

Yeah should be a great matchup.  Plus, the crowd should be incredible since Hobart is only about 30 minutes away.
I think defense will be the key here, whichever team can slow the other offense down will win.  Good luck to both teams!

Um. Ya.  I think you need to revevaluate your posts.  My response- Quit your crying, take off your skirt, quit being a fag, and win.

I don't want to see that word on here buddy... maybe you should take a few days off. That's really crossing the line.

Wow..I cannot believe what I am reading!!!! MU puts thier pants on just like we do. Are they good? Hell yes.. Can the E8 compete with them? Hell yes!!!! If Ithaca, Fisher, or Hobart Plays the way I know these teams can play we can beat MU. This defeatist attitude will not make you a champion. If you already lost in your head you lost on the field.

Difference between winners and losers. Winners will not be beaten!

This concludes my sunday sermon.. ;D

T-minus 20 seconds before MUC fans flood the E8 Nation to say "hey good luck, but honestly, you know you'll never win"

Plus, now we'll have to deal w/ these clowns:

Those are the homos that make the youtube videos.

Jeez guys, honestly can we lay off the slurs on here? I don't come on here to bristle at anything but Fisher fans...

Well, now that I'm done wading through the pages I missed, I say congrats to IC for getting in... I was DYING for an IC-Fish matchup as unlikely as it was....

So now onto MUC. Hopefully it will be webcast, hopefully it won't be too painful.

As was pointed out to me, four different E8 teams have made a total of eight appearances since 2003. Here's to the strength of the conference. (And let's not forget that Alfred was very nearly a contender this year too.)

EDIT: I wish you could all have seen my reaction as I pumped my fist in the air... and then immediately everything went numb as I looked one line higher and sunk back into my chair... and just started laughing.
