QuoteWith the obvious caveat that MUC does everything well, anyone got a quick breakdown of the strengths/weaknesses after 10 games?

Offensive strengths:  O-Line is one of the best in DIII.  QB (Micheli) is very accurate, throws the deep ball well, escapes pressure, and can run for big gainers.  Kmic is probably the best back I've seen at this level.  His motor doesn't stop.  Pierre Garcon is virtually unstoppable in the passing game, give him a couple of feet and he'll take 10 yards.  He's two steps faster than anyone I've seen try to cover him.  They have too many weapons to list on a quick breakdown.

Defensive strengths:  I think this is the best defense Mount has ever had.  They don't seem to have any weaknesses.  The opposing quarterback can expect to get pressured early and often, and the corners and safeties really react well when the ball is in the air.

Weaknesses:  The only thing I can think of is too many penalties, but Mount has always been ranked near the top (or bottom depending on how you look at it) of penalty yards.  Good luck finding a weakness.

Were AU not likely to be hosting an ECAC game, Pep would be happy to don your FDC shirt and drive the 4.5 hours to Alliance. Pep's been there once in pre-season but never to see a game. A bit different set-up with visitors on the side of the press box and home crowd under a roofed grandstand.

Go Bombers! On Saxon Warriors! Go Hawks! and um, yeah, I guess, go cardinals!
On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

So basically it's like trying to destroy the death star...

Although everyone has the upcoming games on their mind, I am sure others in the E8 have buddies overseas  right now (I have several), so on this Veterans Day, I urge everyone to take some time to give thanks
and prayers of remeberance to all of veterans, past and present.

great post

Although Veterans Day was technically yesterday.  On the 11th day of the 11th month at the 11th hour.  This is when the Armistice was signed ending WWI and Veterans day was orginally know as Armistice Day.  It was changed in the 50's I believe to Veterans day to celebrate all who served in wartime and in peace.

Veterans Day

Thank you for the post Addendum, it is a very important day to KS.
If you have a friend, relative or co-worker who is a vet thank them today.  If someone in your family has served or is serving give them a call if possible and thank them.

Great follow-up post, KS. Indeed, Pep is grateful for all who have served and are presently serving in the armed forces to defend our nation. God bless and watch over our troops...and God bless America!

So wait, is Micheli the starter while the other 3 QBs on the varsity roster play the other 3 quarters after MUC goes up 50 in the 1st?

Toph,

Are you alluding that MUC's Raiders are cheaters and play dirty?

New FDC-colored penalty flags!  Great for all those MUC moments:
-Holding
-Offsides
-False Start
-Roughing the Kicker
-Roughing the Passer
-Illegal proceedure
-Too many Radiers on the Field
-Too many Radiers on the bench
-Too many National Championships
-Too many strengths
-Too few weaknesses
-Immortality
-Wearing Purple

Dont wait, call now!  Get yours today!

After watching Ithaca absolutely own Cortland, I have no doubt that they will take care of Mt. Union.  I predict a 21-7 victory by Ithaca.

This is a joke, right? Mount is averaging 54.2 points per game, and giving up 2.4.  The first team defense has yet to give up a touchdown, but Ithaca is going to score 21.  The offense has yet to be held under 35 points, but Ithaca is going to hold them to 7.  The defense has scored more points (34) than they've given up (24), but you're right, Ithaca is going to dominate them.

How, exactly, is Ithaca, who has lost two games, and whose defense has allowed 17 ppg to teams not named Mount Union, going to stop Mount Union?

Have you been following Division III football for the last...oh, 14 years?

relax dude.  He's fired up over a huge rivalry win and a chance to do something in the playoffs.  Everyone know MUC, chill out and let us enjoy a week in which we get to play the best that's ever been.

You can be fired up...I just ask that you be "realistic."

I generally try to be (hence the moniker) but it was it was a bit extreme to jump all over someone who was obviously really fired up over a big win and making the dance.  It seems to me that there are a few MUC poster who feel that no one is even allowed to mention the possibility of MUC being mortal.  Obviously everyone knows who they are and how good they are, but if they didn't have even a chance, then IC players and fans would stay home and get some extra studying in before thanksgiving.

pg04

I think the study time would be better on their psyche than what will probably happen in Alliance to the bomber team...

I know I seem like the negative force here in the east, but I'm not sure they ARE mortal!!

we'll be there !!!

Senor RedTackle

as much as it pains RT, he's pulling for IC. It's because RT is sick and tired of all the wussies who've basically giving MUC the East region title already....and it's only Mon. Some defeatest talk from the NJ board as an example

Quote from: pg04 on November 12, 2007, 10:31:31 AM
I knew someone would say that, of course taking a low shot as I would expect...

Hey, I'm just being realistic.  It's nothing against TCNJ or RPI who both probably could have won the Region had MUC not rudely interrupted the region.  The winner better enjoy it this week.

it's a "low shot" in response to a grossly defeatest attitude. Are you scared of MUC? I'm not but I'd like to win against TCNJ first. Also, I'd love to hear how IC feels about everyone in the east, outside of Ithaca, NY, basically pondering who MUC is going to play in round 2. In 2003, RPI hung for a half against St.John's who beat MUC in the nation championship.

"being realistic"?....give me a freaking break. I cant even begin to tell you how an RPI, IC, or TCNJ player would feel about that comment. You'd get jacked up if you said that around one of those guys. MUC's field is 100 yards long. They play with a regulation ball. They put 11 guys out on offense and 11 guys on defense. They're human, just like we are....wtf..i wouldn't want to be in a foxhole w/ you...
