Definitely nice article. Details, details, details. Don't reporters understand the Greek roots of ITHACA? Nearly all towns in America are either named after its founder or from the settlers' native land.

not even through the link to the story and 2 things jump out.

1)  IC needs to take a new pic of Mike Welch

2)  IthAca, not Ithica

I e-mailed the reporter. Didn't give him too much crap about it, because it may be the case where the copy-editor or the web editor decided it looked wrong when it was actually right... and that Mr. Thomas has no control over.

Well if you type Ithica into google... you get do you mean Ithaca?

When you type Ithica into MS Word its recognized as a mispelling.  Change it to Ithaca and MS Word is happy.

So I don't know why the newspaper couldn't get it right.

Ithaca shut him down in 2004

The Alfred Saxons shut down Garcon twice in 2004, both times at Merrill Field.

Jose...you headed up this way?  If you are, and are taking the "Airtran Express" from the Florida west coast (I thought I read on here that you are in FL), give me a shout and I will be happy to show you all the glory that is Canton/Stark County, OH.   ::)

ss,

I haven't given up hope yet but the odds of me being in attendance are looking pretty long.  The Airtran Express is still looking like my best option.  I will let you know if I am going to make it.  It would be ashame to miss this one.

If not, I will see you at UNO around Christmas time...

It's 2007, he's not an 18 year old freshman (even though he acts like one at times) anymore.

It is bad when we see Ithaca misspelled in here but there is something about it being in the newspaper that was like nails on a chalkboard.  Not to mention the fact that they used the word like 200 times in a 600 word story.

Also funny, the paper is called the "Repository."

Not sure why that is so funny...but it is.

Pep supposes it's sometimes called the Suppository, much like in Ithaca they call the daily there the Urinal.
