No, i hope Fisher goes well and everything, and go East and all that, I hope Kramer gets as many kids as he wants after the game, but there is just no respect for MUC on this board. Although, in your defense, many of you have tried to distance yourself from SJF Fan.

I think most everyone over here knows damn well what MUC brings to the table week in and week out. I think the level of respect from the regulars here is as high as you can get when it comes to MUC, everyone knows that regardless of what goes on in your conference, you don't do what they've done so consistently in the NCAA's and not be the real deal.

No clue where SJF Fan is coming from on many of his posts --- I agree Fisher & Ithaca can play with Mt. Union, and I can understand where he's going when he's pounding on the OAC losing on average of something like 52-2, but calling them all patsies isn't where I'd go with it.

Games for Round 3 (worth 4 points each):

ST. JOHN FISHER (+23.5) at MOUNT UNION

BETHEL (+6.5) at CENTRAL

MARY HARDIN BAYLOR at WESLEY (+7.5)

WABASH (+27.5) at WHITEWATER

fisheralum91

agreed tags- and furthermore- who is the new "sjf fan"?
doesnt speak for most of us- let alone those that know a touch more than most.

sheesh-------max-- i really think that tags and i have had nothing but the utmost respect for muc and ic for that matter----but the reality is that they (muc) are not without flaw.

nobody is perfect-nobody

fisheralum91

sweet jhc.
are you kidding?
23.5
nice.
hope muc thinks so

pg04

Why would it be any lower than 23.5?  IC got beaten by 24.  That seems reasonable.

That's pretty low considering that most of the spreads they've come up with have been 40-50.

fisheralum91

hey runninrob----good to scare ya this am----this is the end of the road for fa91 this year-----hope to see ya soon and have a safe holiday!!!!

fisheralum91

pg- i wasnt trying to disrespect ic--- just that a 3+ td cushion to a team that played muc the best anybody has in 2 seasons seems a little much.

that being said---muc---think 4tds
please.

be over confident.

not that i think they will look past fisher--- but any edge that fisher can get--- Im all for!

Here are the keys I think to beat Mt. Union.

1) You have to throw the ball well. A good qb and some speed recievers can beat MUC's defense.  BUT, you must have some sort of a threat to run to keep MUC's defense up at the line.  This is what IC did against them.  Juvan had his career best in yards in a game, and I must say, he was near perfect.  A few balls were even dropped.  A draw play or two might work, but you have to get the ball downfield.  Play action is a must, and guys must be able to block the extra blitzer and Kramer must be able to throw a good pass to the open hot read reciever.

2) Dont focus on Garcon You have two safties deep, a LB in the flat, and a corner on him. Dont go overboard and worry too much about one player.  The only way he is going to beat you bad is if the saftey gets beat, or if he gets the ball in a posisition where he is running at full speed.  Dont let the DBs get blocked on a screen and pursue to the ball!

3) Don't change your game plan and don't think you can slow down the game by running the ball SJF will not be able to run the ball next week.  Its that simple.  At least they wont be able to run to set up the pass anyway.  SJF will still have to try to run, but sending the RBs in the flat or middle of the field can work against them.

4) Try to keep your contain man unblocked This is tough, but Kmic likes to run back to the sideline.  Make sure the contain man can remain unblocked, and hope to god he can tackle.

Final thoughts:

I think IC suprised Mt. Union a little.  They will not be suprised by SJF.  If MUC had to play IC over again, I think they might do a few different things.  Expect to see this from MUC this week:
-More no-huddle
-More short/screen passes to Garcon
-Less blitzing

Fisher is going to have a very tough game this weekend in alliance, unfortunately superman can not travel this time...But I will be rooting hard from home... I say 31-21 MUC, they are to tough to bet against, I would love for my birthday present to be Fisher knocking off MUC, but as a sensible sports fan I have to say staying within 10 of mount this year is a victory...

imho

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

Pretty much agree with that assessment Tags -- by the way, sorry I missed you during the pre-game.  We had some technical issues that we had to resolve for the broadcast.  I know we were still "scratchy" throughout the broadcast, but that will be ironed out this week.  Will I get to meet you at MUC next week?

Who's in for the MUC hang?!

Um, sorry to burst your cardinal red balloon, but that distinction goes to Capital.  Then Whitewater.  Then SJF.  Sorry, but when a TB rushes for 371 yards by himself against you, that isn't the toughest competition.

Here's the question for SJF, are they the ones that will be overconfident coming off of last year?  Many time we've seen a team play MUC pretty close the first time to only then get blitzed the 2nd time.  Wheaton and St. John's both fell into this trap.  Does SJF do this too?

Personally, I bet SJF thinks they're closer to Mount than they really are.   I'm also looking for a HUGE game from the Raider passing game simply because SJF will be set against Kmic killing them again.  Hence too much focus on Kmic.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

They only lose by 12 and act like it was almost a win. Yeah if you'd played two games you might have scored enough points to get over 26.

Mount is much better now than then. I don't remember a year where they just steamrolled everyone in the OAC like they did this year, where no game was even close, where no one could even hardly score. They were up 35-12 after 3 on Ithaca and people here are acting like it was something great. That's how good they are.

I don't see this being close.

HScoach you keep brining up the 371 yards, but how many points did you win by...and if the field goal had not been blocked and the long snaper had not sent the ball into the back of the end zone what is the score then my friend, Yes Kmic was incredible on that day, but my feeling is fisher had to decide what they were going to stop and Nate was not it...will he run for that much again NO, but stop harping on 371 yards, if that was really an impresive stat they would of won by 21 not 12...
