Frank, you keep misspelling Saterday over on the OAC board.  With an E8 team playing Mount the proper spelling is Saterday.

Apparently, I'm not allowed to talk to you since there's an E8 team playing Saterday.  Please keep our communications to a minimum since, obviously, my discussions with you will cause a huge imbalance in my coverage at Saterday's game.  For instance, I might say that SJF is on defense instead of MUC is on offense periodically through the game -- and that would be devistating.  We must STOP THIS TRAVESTY.  I must shut up now.  I'm sorry we must part ways on such a somber note.

Mount Union / DIII in general story.

gro has 2 co-workers from NE Ohio (akron & youngstown).  Asked them both about MUC. Both conversations went like this

Gro: Hey you know where Alliance is?
CW: Yes
Gro: Then you know of Mount Union?
CW: Yes
Gro: They're football team is pretty good right?
CW: Huh? never knew that.
Gro: are you kidding me? they've won the NC like 9 times (goes off into DIII diatribe, receives blank stares).

that's not a knock on MUC, but gro thought it was weird that people didn't know what was going on in their own backyard. Seems like all the schools in OH get overshadowed by THE Ohio state university.

Gro finds himself having to explain DIII football on a weekly basis... like why I took vacation to go to the shoes game. Or when gro gets the question "you must have played football in college, where did you go?" I usually reply with "a small tech school in upstate NY that you never head of". It's easier to say that then to get into the facts that RPI is one of the best engineering schools in the country and it has a pretty good football team.  People outside the DIII world just don't understand.

No kidding.  Being one of the few East Coasters in my dept in here good old SoCal, most of TGP's co-worker's think that college football only pertains to USC, UCLA and/or other Pac 10 schools.  The concept of D3 is totally foreign to them.  TGP just says that he attended and played foosball at "a small private college in Upstate NY" and leaves it at that.

I wont be able to catch the game as I am going back to the old stomping grounds (Wilson) to attend my Grandfather's funeral who passed due to Lung Cancer. 

FYI, if your ever in Niagara County never go to Mt. Saint Marys hospital in Lewiston.  Stupid doctors diagnosed him with pneumonia in July and told him a week ago he had Cancer and he only had a few days to live.....

My condolenses upstate. My dad had battled lung cancer too; started out as really bad pneumonia as well... weird.

Against my brother's wishes I'm hoping to go to Alliance - maybe he'll pass on the score updates as I'm sure I'll be updating him from time to time.
