Hey FA91, I'm in class right now  :-[ha. I just got the word that the SGA isn't getting a bus together to send students to Ohio - which really bummed me out... there was hope that RSA might but I doubt it... my funds are depleting but I'm bound and determined to go anyway!

How much would a bus cost for the SGA, little sister?

I have no idea, I'm near the President of SGA right now, I'll ask him in between lectures  8) ... it can't be too much - as I recall last year they charged a small fee for the students to ride down, that included a small meal and tickets. I pay $33,000 + to come here, they can get a bus...

I was talking with your TV guys and it sounded like they were struggling to pull together $400 to travel for their tape-delay broadcast this weekend.  Anyone know how that is coming together?  I'm always a fan when a school puts a little of their playoff money back into the media aspects that helped promote the team in the first place during the regular season but which didn't have the ability to budget for the postseason because of the unpredictability factor.

I can guarantee ya that tens of thousands get spent each academic year on 'extracirricular' activities of professors, staff and dignitaries for things like lunches, airlines, travel, etc...what a shame when it comes to not looking out for a good cause like sending kids to a big game to show their school spirit.

BTW, I know for a fact that the college pays to have President Bain's lawn at his paid-for million dollar mansion on East Ave cut and maintained...

I don't know anything about the media problem - that'd be terrible.

I don't know why the school isn't funding a bus either. I know there's a lot of loops to jump through. John Snyder - the president of SGA didn't seemed concerned or upset when I asked... just simply said "We're not, but maybe RSA." Maybe they don't think enough students would like to go? I don't know... I know that I'd appreciate it! I didn't take the bus last year, like I said, but I know the turn out was great so I don't see last year's outcome being a reason for not doing it this year; maybe because it's not semi's yet? I love football so to me it's a big deal. I'd pay 20 bucks to go, cheaper than driving myself, easier on my car and less tiresome!

You're right GER82 about Baine's property... funny he's never around campus?....

well don't forget we're a "dry campus" and Catholic oriented.... that means (unfortunately) leaving the tailgating at home....

Where are the coffee mugs and plastic cups? Better yet, direct me to the doctors as soon as I get off the bus!  ::)

JU - KS posts his thong of the day for just this reason in the LLPP...

I remember the bus trip to Ohio for the mens basketball final four in 92 from NJCU.  The ride was a blast, almost nobody slept for the whole weekend.  It cost the students 20 bucks each for the bus, game tickets, motel room (4 to a room) and breakfasts.

That would be awesome! I don't know if the student body (or enough of it) is that into football (which is sad because our program is an up and coming success!) ... a majority of the people at away games are parents, significant others, and really loyal fans. I just assumed a bus would be available....
