I just saw that Stepnick is officially out for this weekends game at MUC. Wow, that is a killer for Fisher.

Just makes the mountain that much harder to scale, but I still think it can happen. GO FISHER...

Oh well, as long as he plays in the Semi's....

Honestly though, thats really too bad for him.  If injury forced me not to be able to play my last game i'd be pretty upset with it....

I bet a nickle, that it's just a ruse and he comes running out of the tunnel just the the D is about to go on the field with only 10 guys and then he comes out and picks off michelli or what ever his name is and returns it for a TD

It would've been miraculous if Stepnick could've come back in just seven days' time from a high-ankle sprain.  At the end of the day, I think this decision had two points of view coming at it, both of which said to sit him out:

1) The player's health:  Whether or not Stepnick has what it takes to get to the next level, his long-term health matters more than any single game, playoff or not.  I know Steve wanted to play in this game against the early advice the team was being given -- and to me, that will show as much heart as him actually playing on the ankle.

2) Let's face it -- you need players at 100% to beat Mt. Union.  Sure, Stepnick at 80% would probably be better than most players in his position out there, but the practicality is that you don't want to risk a flawless game based on a problematic injury question.  As I went through SJF's roster and stats tonight to reorganize it for Saturday, I realized that the defense is a lot more than just Stepnick (although, he's a huge part -- no doubt).  The SJF coaches know that this loss doesn't automatically disqualify them from contention this weekend.

You put those two points of view together, and that's, to me, the right decision for everybody involved.  It's still going to be a good game, and hopefully Steve heals quickly in time for the holidays.

You realize you placed the scroll in the color of SJF, right ???

Just picked a color. No big deal.

The fine liberal arts etchumakashun that I received indicates that sub consciously you think SJF will win.  It is ok, you can come over from the dark side, we will accept you.

Too bad about Stepnick.  Obviously, that hurts our defense a great deal.  Hopefully, Bostick or Ahmed can get it done.  I wonder if Blaise will use the cover 2 some this weekend?  Or if we take our chances in our base cover 3?

ok I've got it... Pep drives to utica and picks up FA91 and then they drive up to Fisher and pick up lil sis and tags and they go to Alliance in the pep mobile....

Speaking of Pep he has been gone for a long time...

KaZ00 got it right....here in Mayberry everyone hops on the AU Pep Bandwagon, not to be confused with Pep's academic job (now gladly over) of driving the Herrick Library Bookmobile.

And, KaZ00 knows me all too well....he knows Pep Sr. takes precedence over the Alliance Encounter. Pep would not be on the boards were it not for Pep Sr. (in more ways than the obvious!).

Speaking of Pep Sr., he instilled the Saxon spirit in Pep from his infancy. Pep Senior snuck in and sat on the hill to watch his first Alfred football game back in 1937 when (legendary) Coach Alex Yunevich started coaching here. In the seventy years since, Pep Senior has missed a total of THREE football games, only because nieces made the mistake of getting married out of state during football season without consulting Pep Senior.

That is awesome.

Good stuff from peps family...I am already working on my neices (3,4, and 2) about Fisher. And, my wife and I have already started a Fisher room in the house (wife is a Ithaca grad, and I consider that room my greatest accomplishment since graduation). My poor kids have no chance...Fisher from day 1.

KS has been taking the stalkerette to NJCU basketball and (when we had a team) football games since she was one month old.  She loves to go to basketball games with KS and MKS and watchs football, baseball and basketball with KS on tv.  Start em young and they love it.  KS does keep telling the Stalkerette that when it comes to colleges Army, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard are all very acceptable to KS and MKS.
