Hmmm...that sounds like a good idea.  I'm gonna go out and celebrate the Port Win today with some coworkers that have no idea where or what Brockport is and don't understand how D3 football can even exist!

#4- NICE TURNOUT BY FDC

This group was started by myself and yellowhat back in 2000.  At that time, the stands were pretty quiet, and the lone two of us would do the first down cheer.  Just two of us!  Today, we were a sea of yellow strong at a game two hours from home, with tons and tons of other supportive familiy members and friends.

Thanks to John McGraw for the kind words.  We try pretty hard to keep things as clean as possible.  In the past we've screwed up (mostly in our younger years), but try to encourage the younger Bomber faithful to cheer loudly and cleanly.

Again, the bleachers are a problem at Fisher.  People are naturally territorial.  Some folks inevitably got hot regarding cheers like "Where is Noah" (after the fourth dropped pass), and "This is Our House."  The "Rusty Cowbells" cheer when it started to rain was a hoot. We hope though, that people see we're doing this with a smile on our face, and with no malicious intent.  Like the players, when the game is over with, we're happy to be friends with the opposition as well and share a hot dog or beer.  I saw many people shake hands with the fans of the opposition.

Our "Good Game Fisher Chant" was met with looks of disbelief by about 20 Fisher players as time ran out!  But it's true... they played a great game (though they still haven't won at Butterfield!).  Myself and icdubbz got a chance to shake Robinson's hand after the game, and tell him that he is the real deal.  Again, support your team with everything you have during the game... but once it's over, we can certainly shake each other's hands.

did ithaca deserve to be #11 with a freshman QB? but your right they arent getting a lot of love........

He is a sophomore but a rookie nevertheless.  I think it was based on the fact that they brought back three stud RBs, their leading WR, a good TE, and 4 of 5 OL.  Wouldn't have matterd.  Rookie QBs don't play defense.  Wow is all I can say right now....

Just got online.....whew!

First half was unbelieveable......everybody looked stoked.....including the FDC....!

At halftime....some of us were talking about how we just didn't put them away on two drives late in the second qtr......

Then the second half comes.....I swear they exchanged uniforms or something.....no excuses...the quick score woke up the relatively quiet Fisher crowd and the whole team! It was like a firestorm for the entire 3rd qtr.

Stepnick played tight.....Lang is an outstanding athlete......the whole squad lit up....

I met er1948, Robinson's family today....great folks-it was a pleasure....Somebody needs to explain why an all-american like Robinson is not in on every series.....

Mr. Mc Graw thanks for stopping by.....it was a pleasure....thanks for recognizing the FDC and your take on the game was right on....

First Down Club..you guys were HUGE.....In my brief travels, no place other than Cortland (Cortaca) can say they have our "road" presence at home or away...and I was amazed that only once or twice did I hear anybody even make a comment about the Fisher stands..The chants congtaulating Fisher were class....

IC dumped it this game, at least the second half......tradition gets em on the rebound next week at Brockport...a little wiser. a little healthier... and I hope slightly pissed off....

Still a lot of games to play.....

#5-  LOSING STINKS.

Man, as a Cubs fan, it's fun to actually cheer for a team that wins most of it's games.  If you look at the Bomber losses over the past five years, every one has either been in overtime, or by less than a touchdown.  This was the first decisive loss for the Bombers since the Rowan playoff game many years ago.  It was a sour taste, and one that I hope we don't have for quite some time.

portgrad.....going tear up south beach tonight as if it where my freshman year at canal side

pg04

Oh I miss those days...They've actually closed things down already that I remember...and that was only two years ago!

West Palm really isn't the party hub that South Beach is either...I guess I'll have to make due here in the WPB.

I don't know guys, someone tell me something to make me think that what we saw out of IC's D today won't be the norm. I have a lot of trust in Welchy, but we need to inject our secondary with some kind of talent juice if we are going to make/go anywhere in the playoffs. Or next week against Borkport.

Speaking of Borkport....

How does IC stack up? I know very little about the folks from Special Olympics Stadium this year.....

I have been hanging out there a little...got some other BPORT alum living up there

big, fast, and stong max

Ithaca is better than the score today obviously.

However,  I think brockport's defense is much better than anyone other than the teams that have played them give them credit for.

The key matchups, in my opinion,  will be:

Jovan vs. The Brockport D
Lynch vs. the Ithaca D-line

Really FLA, and I thought I was the only "Brockportical" here...Haven't been lucky enough to stumble across one yet.

I'll try to make you feel better Max:

It probably didn't help that our best linebacker, and starting strong safety were standing next to us in the parking lot before the game today.

Blumenauer's has probably been our best player this year on defense. His broken arm got very little pub this week, probably on purpose to make Fisher think there was a chance he'd play.

Charlie Stephens, our starting strong safety, was out of uniform this week for undisclosed reasons.

The cornerbacks were alone on an island for most of the day, while we had eight in the box, and still stayed tight with the Fisher WRs.

Our linebackers are young talented and should only improve as time goes on.

Byers is huge and nasty.

We held a great offensive team to nearly nothing for a half.

How'd I do?

I think the return of Stephens will make a pretty big difference next week.....everybody else seems healthy enough to go....give Fisher credit...Robinson hit the corner and hit the endzone when he had the opportunity....

There are a three x port players all living up there, teaching....then two more of us down here in Miami-Dade
