Not sure you want to challenge Pep on driving time FA...

I am pretty sure he is the only visiting fan to ever attend a game at Norwich.

Ah.
Pep- i tip my hat to you on that one.

Though i still give myself a pat on the back for not only making 5 games last year--but keeping Mrs. Alum happy as well!

It's been a while since I've been on your page and maybe this has already been asked, but is there any word on bigtime transfer additions to SJF in the off-season?  Or will they be returning to Alliance with the same roster minus the seniors?  As MUC fan, I'm really looking forward to playing SJF in the opener instead of some pansy like Averett.

On the subject of conferences, I have no problem in saying the WIAC is the best conference from top to bottom.  And there lies the difference between the WIAC and the OAC.  The bottom 3 to 4 teams in the OAC are horrible!   However the top of the OAC is as good as anyone.

What makes the WIAC so tough to win undefeated is even the lower teams are close enough talent wise to upset a top team if the ball bounces right.  In the OAC, I could play QB for Mount against the bottom half of the conference and they'd still win by 30+. ;D

For the last 15 years, I'd easily take the OAC's top 5 teams and match them against any other conference's top 5 and like the OAC's chances to have a winning record, even against the WIAC.  It would be nearly impossible to do in football, but I'd love to see an inter-conference challenge like the ACC-Big Ten basketball does in the early season where 1 plays 1, 2 plays 2, etc.  That would be a great way to start the season.

Hope all of the E8 guys are having a great summer!
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Well a page or two back Mark Robinson came on and said Fisher may land 4 or 5 division 1 and division 1AA transfers, but hasn't elaborated since and nothing has been confirmed.  Other than that, not really sure about the transfer or incoming freshman situation.  I just can't wait until next year when Mount Union finallllllly comes to Rochester.  I went to Alliance the first time and it was fun.  I went to Alliance the second time and it was not fun at all.  I won't be in Alliance the third time around because I managed to convince myself I'm a bad luck charm and that's the only reason Fisher lost by 42 points.

In all actuality, the 2007 season offered, excepting Norwich, reasonable road trips. There was the opener at Thiel, a 3.5 hour drive (200 miles one-way) with THREE vehicles and 12 Hot Peppers making the trip. Then there was the brutal 7.5 hour (420 miles one-way) trip to Northfield, VT when the four-piece band (which spent a night in an EconoLodge at Lake George) took out a 50-piece military marching band....and we didn't even bring our cannon.

Then there was Hobart (1.5 hours, 70 miles); Ithaca (2 hours, 98 miles); and St. John Fisher (1.5 hours, 80 miles).

So, total driving time for five pep band road trips in 2007 was 32 hours. But 2008, with road trips to St. Lawrence (5 hours), Springfield (6 hours), Hartwick (3 hours), Utica (3.5 hours) and Rochester (1.5 hours) could amount to 38 hours.

Whereas, if FA91 made five round trips of 8 hours each, he was on the road 40 hours in following the Cardinals.

Pep kept Mrs. Pep happy as well, because, at the time, Mrs. Pep was just happy to have Pep out of the house!   :-*

Perhaps you should discard your hat altogether, FA91. Pep is long past pushing 40. Heck, Pep has more miles on him than his Pep Bandwagon.  ;)

I apologize if this has been addressed, but over on the E8 basketball site, there is a rumor that Bostic is not playing football at Ithaca this year.  Anyone have any information on this?

It seems very unlikely.  He will be a starter.  The team finished the season incredibly strong.  Hard to imagine passing on what could be a special year.

Pep's relationship with Mrs. Pep has just recently been re-started as there have been some tumultuous times. Heck, Pep might have bought her jewelry for Valentine's Day and her birthday if it weren't for the order of protection.  :o
