Interesting stadium debate that feels like a re-run.  Have we been here before?

I'll say this:

Cortland's Stadium is the best in NY D3 without question.

Restricting the field to the E8 it sounds like everyone has it right.

On overall facility, the edge has to go to Fisher.  Never been in their lockerrooms, meeting rooms, etc, but I am certain they are much nicer than the facilities at IC.

Limiting the evaluation solely to the stadium, gameday atmosphere, etc, the edge goes to IC.  Everyone seems to agree that the view is incredible.  Great crowds, great pre/postgame atmosphere, room for added seating, and I'll take the natural stuff to the fake stuff six days a week and twice on Sunday.  Not sure why but the game feels more appropriate.

Jose-
I agree, view is great and the atmosphere at IC is unreal!
You are also right--and i have seen the locker room and weight room facilities----VERY nice!
Interesting--they didnt have mahogony lockers when i was there ;D

Pep thinks Merrill Field has the best urinal trough in all the E8. And, unlike Growney, the latrine cannot be tipped over while one is peeing.  ;)
On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

+k pep.
the only gripe that i have about growney is the bathroom issue.
Hopefully they get that done soon!

4. Norwich....always fun playing in that "hostile" environment with cannons exploding and cadets doing various calesthentics...good memory I have is B.Brady scoring a TD and then saluting the cadets right behind the end zone...needless to say that drew a fifteen yarder.

I think that would have been a move stolen from Donovan McNabb during a cuse/army game in the dome.

As for realistics stadiums...agree with most with IC being #1 especially for game-day atmosphere.

I'm glad to hear Springfield is upgrading.  I remeber the '99 game there is the hard turf and horrible access to the press box.  I did think it was cool that the students in the townhouses next to the field could watch the game from there back yards.

Also, I'm with JU with Buff State as a horrible field.

Overall D-III though Saint John's is like nothing else and Linfield is pretty sweet too.  Also RPI has a nice place in my heart too...something about the field int he middle of all of the building was sweet.  Also helps that I was there for IC's win, not the loss.

Were you there the year Seth Cantor opened the broadcast by noting that broadcasting from the balcony of a classroom in the academic building adjoining the field made him "feel like Lee Harvey Oswald in the book depository"  ??

haha - I believe so.  My senior year thanksgiving break was Monclair State win the first weekend, then RPI win the 2nd.....followed by the Rowan shutout with a 2nd (3rd?) string QB and RB combo.

RPI vs. Ithaca 2003 East Region Final

PEGGY: Now Shirley, let me get this straight. Ithaca wins, and you have to wear a "Ithaca is Gangsta" T-shirt to your commencement.  RPI wins, and I have to wear a "Sex Kills, Come to Rensselaer and live forever" T-shirt to my commencement? Are you sure you want to go through with this?

SHIRLEY: WOOO!! GO RED!! YEAH THATS THE BET P-DIDDY, I WAS LIKE 8 BEERS DEEP WHEN WE MADE IT BUT WHO CARES, WE'RE CREAMING YOUR PRECIOUS BOMBERS OUT THERE!! WOOOO!!

PEGGY: Well, there's still plenty of game left to play and if I know my team then they'll...

SHIRLEY: THEY'LL WHAT? BEAT RPI? HELLL NAW. NOT ON '86, NOT TWICE. I'M STILL STEAMING OVER THAT LOSS. I NEED TO CALM DOWN

<pulls out a joint, lights up>

SHIRLEY: <takes a huge drag, slowly exhales> HIT THIS, CHIEF.

PEGGY: Shirley!! How can you do that in front of the students??

SHIRLEY: PSSSSSH, WHERE DO YOU THINK I GOT THIS FROM? WELL, TECHNICALLY MY CONNECTION WAS JUST ANOTHER TROYLET, BUT HIS STUFF IS SO GOOD I GAVE HIM A DEGREE IN BIOCHEMESTRY.

PEGGY: Well I would hate to be a rude guest... <partakes>

30min later

PEGGY: I AM SO F'ING HUNGRY RIGHT NOW... I'M LIKE... I'M LIKE STARVIN, MAN.

SHIRLEY: THIS ONE'S IN THE BAG, LET'S BOUNCE. YOU LIKE GRAVY FRIES WITH CHEESE? <calls personal driver> FIRE UP THE CADDY, WE'RE GOING TO BOB'S DINER!!!

SaxonDeuce: Welcome aboard! All is well in Saxonville...the usual summer construction projects but a bit too quiet at the library. Pep appreciates your appearance on these pages as you bring a fresh insight to the boards from a player's perspective. Pep's observations are strictly from the stands or what he might hear among sources.

As for the Saxons in 2008, Pep is cautiously optimistic as a lot will be determined by who fills your shoes. What size do you wear? Pep has stated, however, that from his observation, AU will be okay at QB so long as Puccio is on staff working with that position.

Pep...shoe size is 15...I am sure the saxons will be in good hands...Pucco is an excellent coach and even more entertaining person to be around....he has some stories from college...unreal...now he lives vicariously through the players he coaches....now I can finally sit down and enjoy a beer with him without compromising his position as a coach....just about a week until they report to camp

maxpower

BTW, I'd like to congratulate myself (as usual), JU, Tags, and supe for dominating the LLPP board for a few pages.... Tags and JU, I honestly thought that "hughlike" guy was one of you two trying to bait me!

PBR...

Claire is that you?.... I though it was... I see that you have worked some saturdays this year...I really missed the churchville diner and all the "lively" conversation that Palermo used to start, and most of all the Redman.....Good to know that you are on this message board

ok I'll list the places I've seen a game....

in no particular order...
Growney, I love the place, but there is a lot lacking...if they ever get around to finishing it should be a fun place to watch a game...

Butterworth, an amazing view a great atmosphere, wasn't too thrilled about walking up a mountain to get back to my car...
Springfield, maybe it was just a gray day... but I was not overly thirlled with it... the parking was easy and I liked the townhouses behind it, but other than that nothing stands out in my head...

Union-it is VERY small, but I like the idea of bringing a blanket or a chair and sitting on the hill and watching a game... over all VERY nice area, I did not have to hard of a problem finding a good parking spot and getting out after the game...

Mount Union- I felt like crap the entire game and was very sick, but it is an interesting place to watch a game, I felt like it was the Fisher fans who made the place loud, but pre-game atmosphere is second to nothing you can't beat the car with the Mount Union helmet on it...

RPI-I honestly like RPI a lot, I will miss the in the middle of campus feel, I think you could do more with the seats and bleachers, I also think you don't put the home bleachers in front of the alway sideline, but it was a good experiance..

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.
