Where is the Fan Poll board?  I just looked and didn't see any board with that title?

Fisher got better in all athletics because the President and board of trustees have gone on a build it and they will come kick as booby and upstate and robby and any other recent fisher grad can back me up in the last 8-9 years Fisher has put a lot of money into the campus, building new class rooms bringing in new majors, new dorms and athletic facilities, Fisher has one of the nicest Football/soccer/lacrosse fields, they have an amazing baseball field and softball field, Fisher also won their first national championship ever this spring as Scott Harris Jr. won the individual National Championship...

Have the Bills coming helped with noteritety, yes... but Fisher has also helped the Bills, if you look at the employment thing of the bills, a large chunk of those kids are Fisher grads... So yes the Bills helped Fisher become a National name, but it could not of been done with out an adminstration that was willing to spend the money to make it happen

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

Oh I also wanted to add that I think that Boltus could be an interesting player in an AFL system... and 2) Does anyone else think wicks lack of a schedule is gonna hurt them this year... you have a week off before playing at Ithaca and then another week off before playing at Fisher... I know there have been talks about this before, but even if it was another cupcake wouldn't it have been smart of Wick to schedule at another game as they are going to be going into the Ithaca game with only one game expeirance before heading into THE toughest place in the E8 to win a game...

I don't think 'Wick's schedule will hurt them...it certainly won't help them...but it won't hurt them.  Look, a few years ago when they were really struggling they had to go and schedule some of the teams on their schedule now...to get some wins and try to turn things around.  What good of it would have done to schedule a MUC when they were finishing with a sub .500 record?  Boltus helped them get there a little quicker.  But lets face it...no matter how 'Wick does, I think they would need to win the E8 flat out or finish second with one overall loss (neither an easy accomplishment).  Schedule is highly considered, but unless 'Wick beats at least IC or SJF again, I am not sure that they would get a tournament bid anyway.

As for the SJFC-Bills "conspiracy", I am not sure why SJFC folks run from this.  Clearly the administration there was a big, big part of shaping the athletic environment on campus...but just as clear is that there is a direct correlation between the football turn-around and the Bills coming to campus.  Are you telling me that the revenue generated or brought in by the Bills didn't help to fuel the "build it and they will come" theory/application?  In any event, it is what it is.  It is like the old saying, who cares how you got there...if you got there.  Hell, I wish an NFL football team would come to Oneonta for the summer...I cannot imagine what the facilities might look like...thought they have improved dramatically over the last 2-3 years, with more changes to come.

As for the schedule, I know that 'Wick was trying like mad before the beginning of the year to get a 10th game.  Husson was a good game to drop, even though they were improving (6-3 in 2007).  Too far of a trip, too expensive, and it didn't help their schedule...it we won it was who cares its Husson, lost and its god damn you lost to Husson?  I think Wesley would be a great pick up...and I am all for it.  Not sure if the AD's could move on that game quick enough, but I for one would love to see it.

It would be interesting to see how many in state players, that don't go to another state and are recruited by S.U., who go to SJF or Ithaca or any other smaller school in the state.

Syracuse is simply awful...and it is a crying shame to see a respectable program fall so hard so fast.  I cannot believe Gross hasn't been fired yet.  It doesn't do a lick of good keeping him around.  I may be biased, but it speaks volumes when the best QB in the state of NY playing college football on Saturday plays in Oneonta...and grew up in the Syracuse area.  I would love for some Syracuse fan to tell me they wouldn't take Boltus over Andrew Robinson...

Generally speaking though, there probably aren't too many players today that choose SJF and Ithaca over S.U.  There may be some interest from D1 schools, but from what I usually see, if they can go D1, players usually do.  Does anyone else know of players that had legitimate offers...not just interest...and turned it down to play at a DIII school in NY?  I am sure there are cases...though rare.

SJF's 6'8" 315lb sophmore tackle Dominic Fotia turned down an offer from D-1AA maine to go to SJF.

There was a kid at Ithaca who said he turned down a full ride at a CAA school (old A-10).  Im not sure I believed him but who knows.  Its tough to pay 15-50K a year now over a school that you can go for free.

Upstate

The Philly Daily news says that after( hurts for me even to type it) Penn St. / S.U. game that Robinson will finally unnerve the alumni enough to ask for his head. Even the players he has recruited are transferring out

Good, he's needs to be held accountable.  Especially after having the nerve to blame the whole situation on the fact that he didnt know the state of the program when he first started...

ugh - it's horrible and is going to get so much worse this weekend.  As for the state of the program....I found this interesting.

Wow I honestly expected to come on today and see pages of posts.  Instead there have only been about 3 or 4 new ones since last night.  What gives people??

Pep thought he'd only use the Bandwagon mileage count in the off-season, but here goes: 301,286 today.

The Wesley/Montclair game was put together in a short time last year and was done to replace cancelled games over the summer, though I think they had a few more weeks to get it done. It was a one year thing. I believe that one school or the other has at the very least thought about it. I believe that it would be an out of region game because of mileage difference

Pep's not sure why there's all this talk about Hartwick and Wesley hooking up on the football field when it appears Wesley has a 10-game schedule.  ???  Was the Wesley-Chris Newport game cancelled altogether?

No common open dates. So it has been canceled.

Thanks, PA_wes....that makes sense now.

BTW, Pep recalls Wesley making a trip to Merrill Field years ago. Pep remembers the Wolverines fielded a very solid defensive team, as did the Saxons. Wesley was the better team that day.  :(
