Since we were discussing D1 options for D3 players the other day, here is a quote from Dan Juvan in today's Ithacan:

Though Division I-AA schools like Fordham University, Stony Br ook University and SUNY-Albany recruited him, Juvan said Ithaca was the best fit for him.

"Ithaca was unique, and there is just a winning tradition here," Juvan said. "It seemed like the easiest transition for me from high school to here."

I can see that.  Juvan came from a great HS program.  He has DI-AA size.  I think he made the right move.  Class act too.

No way Juvan could play DI ball.

Not DI-A...but I can see why he got a look from some DI-AA schools.  Had the size, pedigree, and accolades.  He is a pretty good fit for IC.

Hopefully no more parents/relatives/players come on to push for playing time anytime soon, that was probably one of the most childish things i've seen a while.

Anyways, SJF needs to come out strong this weekend and put Buff State away in the first half.  They need to establish the run game early.  This week is their only cupcake for a while, the UR game is going to be tight regardless of how bad UR is and IC is coming up in two weeks.  They need to get the offense going and in a hurry!

I'm hearing there are some pretty damaging injuries on the Fisher squad... will let them come out on their own.

RE: Buff State

Tags will be there with little sister -- we need to put them away early so I can go get my brother & his family from the airport on time.

Dood I'm getting married in like 8 days :-X

RE: Ithaca

Who will be there? I'll be there, what better romantic getaway after a wedding than a Fisher / Ithaca game? Jose, you'd be proud!

Congrats on the wedding...and good luck...to both you and Mrs. Tags.

Tough break on the injuries.  Are you guys deep this year?

This was not the biggest or strongest MU defence, but it was by far the qiuckest
defence in the last three years. Tim Bailey is going to be a good quarterback, only if his teammates pick it up. #84 quit on his route after the ball was thrown leading
to two of his interceptions. #44 dropped two short passes. The pass at the end of the first half thst was returned for a TD was a bad play call on the coaches.
The play calling must improve if this team is to succed.

Gonna have to throw the challenge flag on that. Is this the first time you've seen the MUC defense in person?

I submit that the 2006 squad would top this year's. Stickly, DeRiggi, etc... They made that Fisher offense fight for every single inch, and that offense would run circles around this one.

2006 defense was definitely better.  Tags nailed it, it felt like every yard Fisher gained was a battle.  They swarmed around the ball like nothing I've ever seen at the D3 level, and they put extreme pressure on the QB.

I will be at the Ithaca game... I think my plan is to drive to my buddies house in Cuse friday night and then make my way out to fisher on Saturday night

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

It's funny how some folks with an axe to grind will come on Post Patterns, post their gripe and then run and hide after the sparks start flying.

Pep is all for more posters but this is no place for whining....unless of course it's Pep.  ;)

PBR is to be thanked for the following post, which Pep brings to the E8 board with all respect for those who lost their lives in that dreadful attack seven years ago.

Hey boys- Ill be at the IC game along with a bunch of the Doctors.
Tags-- congrats!
We'll talk at the IC game-- but im not willing to put the sticks away yet--have the handicap at a reasonable level and will have to start all over again in the spring.
Damn winter.
As for the long time fan-----please-- if you know anything about this board-- you have tasted the slightest of slaps on the wrist --- oh and fish fan--defense doesnt have a C in it

Congratulations Tags.  Sounds like you picked a good one if she is off to IC-Fisher with you shortly after the nuptials.

As for Juvan playing D1aa, I think he clearly has the talent to play on the teams identified in the story.  Let's be honest, we aren't talking about Delaware, App State, Wofford, etc.  It's still yankee football, not dixie football.

FA, if you don't want winter to intervene with your swing, move to Florida.  We got better jobs, lower taxes, and better weather...not to mention better public golf courses.

Put 1-AA Umass and UNH in with the top teams though Jose!

MIOH, MIYH

you guys attending homecoming?  It is against Hartwick.   An interesting match up the Bombers created on Homecoming weekend.   I like it better than the normal powder puff teams like Frostburg St. that we play on these weekends.

Dubbz

MIOH can't make it to HC or SJF this year.  Cortaca is probably going to be my live viewing of the Bombers this year.
