That's because the game is at King's - they're the ones doing the live stats this week.

Fisher Offence
No fullback
No tight end threat
No motion
No screen play
You do the math

not nice dude. reger is a great TE, kid works his tail off. jeff same and kelly are both extremely capable of playing fullback. maybe they just weren't in the gameplan for mt. union. both years i played the matchups didn't dictate playing "hard-nosed" football with a stronger, faster team. we will see how the season plays out, hopefully in the end the TE's and FB's get their due.

Numbers do not lie, check the stats.

I just got back from Merrill where it was a tale of two halves.  I'll read all the posts later, but here are my initials thoughts.

If the team can play the way they did in the second half for 4 straight quarters and Hendrix continues to heal up, the Saxons will be a very competitive team.  They still need to work on minimizing the penalties and not intercepting the ball deep in their own territory on 4th down!  Manzer did a nice impression of Rammy from last year's Fisher game, but at least he was in the end zone at the time.  I'll give him a pass this time since he's a receiver, but batting the ball down rather than catching it would have meant an additional 20 yds in field position.

The first win in the Secky era in Mayberry.  On Saxon Warriors!

Yes, hindsight is 20-20...so yes, Jared would probably go back and bat the ball down...However, he is just player trying to make a play, ....As for Rammacher last year, Please don't mention that...i have heard enough of that, rammacher was a great player, was it a mistake?..debatable..... did he give us the ball back? yes...

Rammy was a great player on both defense and special teams, but from up in the stands he looked rusty his first 3 games back on D last year and especially at Ithaca it looked like Juvan was just picking on him to move the chains.  And while I don't like to pick on players for making a play, when it's fourth down you'd like to see the leader of your D reminding everyone to bat the ball down rather than intercept.

I don't see how this is productive to the discussions on this board.  Would you have preferred to play in front of empty stands during your time at AU?  Clearly Pep and I don't have the ability to play collegiate football, but I don't think that should discount our perceptions of the games.  The band has been extremely loyal and enthusiastic toward Saxon football and will continue to be whether the team is in contention for the postseason or becomes a "doormat."  Mostly because AU football is the biggest sporting event in Mayberry, but also because we have fun cheering for the team and talking about the games (just as we all enjoy disecting NFL games each week).  And these forums are the best way to share those thoughts with other like-minded DIII football fans.  So, if you disagree with my conclusions, please say so and give me your rebuttal.  I'd love to hear your perspective of the situation and maybe I'll come agree with your premises.

I think you heard my rebuttal.  What happened in the AU-SJF game last year cannot be changed.  Josh made a play, its over.  Do you know how many people told him that?  "Hey Josh, what were you thinking?..Whats wrong with you?...etc,etc.  So, I just feel that it doesn't need to brought up, you are right, this is not productive to the discussions on the board.  As for him being rusty?  Maybe so, his left arm is completely restructured as a result of playing football...and maybe it slowed him down, but he was still one of the best players on the field.
