Supe -- thanks for the clarification.  Just sounded bad when I first read it.  No surgery should be taken lightly.  The worst part about knee surgeries is the rehab...in my experiences...no quick way to get back.

Perhaps to pause from kneedling Supes57, and a kneed to change topic, Pep offers the following:

What with wet weather wreaking havoc with any tailgating wishes for the season, Pep is hopeful for an opportunity sometime this season to present a menu for the Perfect Pepgate Party:

1/3 Pound Pepband Burger (w/jalapeno peppers)
Kettle Peppercorn Chips
Peppered shrimp Alfredo
Dr. Pepper
topped off with a peppermint patty

and if it turns out to be too much pep.....there's always Pepto Bismol

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

Let me restate my statement... It is by no means saying knee injuries are nothing... but in the skheem of life... I would rather have Knee Surgery than just about every surgery I've had... and just about every surgery out there... So again I am not saying anything about knee surgeries but it could be a lot worse

This I totally agree with...

Had the labrum tacked and debreeded in both shoulders and I can say that those surgeries and recoveries were easier than my knee reconstruction...

Supe -- you're good with me, bud...no need to delve where I don't need to go.

Pep -- Sounds delicious!  And alfredo??? at a tailgate? Sounds a bit fancy for me...but I'm a youngin' at the tailgating thing.

First knee scope I was there the whole day.  Early AM surgery and got home around 11pm.

Second scope was not as extensive as the first (meniscus clean up as opposed to ACL reconstruction).  I was only there for an hour or two after surgery.

Mine was overnight, my surgery was pushed back alot and they kind of lost track of me in the recovery room.  So they put me in a bed overnight.

The best part about it was that i got a spinal, numbs you from the waist down, just so i didnt have to be knocked out.  I highly recomend you do this because you dont have to deal with the shock of waking up after surgery.  Also you can watch the surgery on the monitor and have conversations with the doctors/nurses.

True statement.  Reconstruction usually takes at least 6 months.  I was on crutches for 2 weeks then 2 more with an immobilizer.  One more month to run lightly. Then the long 4 - 6 more months 'til you're at 100%.  For me it was extremely frustrating because as an athlete my speeds are Stop and Go; so rehab really, really sucked.

My second surgery the rehab wasn't bad at all.  Since they only trimmed up the meniscus and didn't repair anything I was back in a month.

It's always interesting to here what I do and say when I am on the meds... I always try and tell a joke on my way in... I had several suregies in Boston and my favorite thing to do would be to mess with the Red Sox on my way in... not the smartest thing... but hell it was fun

Peppered shrimp alfredo! Oh my! Truth be told, Pep was looking for a side dish to go with the PepBand Burger and stumbled upon the recipe....Pep loves shrimp alfredo over fettucine, a dish he had at Red Lobster just a few weeks ago for Pep's daughter's 26th birthday.

Pep lives just 1.5 miles from Merrill Field. Peppered shrimp alfredo will still be hot when he gets to the tailgate.

I may have to make a special trip to an Alfred tailgate... that sounds real good, Pep.
