Quote from: SJFF82 on October 01, 2008, 03:26:22 PMDid either Buff St. or B-Port ever monkey stomp IC 3 years in a row, or ever hold them out of the end-zone?

Both actually had win streaks against IC of at least 3 games.

Yet, we're still here.

Although we never monkey stomped you, per se.  But we are a state school so we were allowed to win at Butterfield  :)

And if you need a frame of reference, Ithaca was dropped from #1 to #6 in the regional poll after a loss of roughly the same margin by which Fisher lost to MUC. Fisher is a top-10 team. Is Ithaca being "punished?"

FYI...Fisher is NO Mount Union...a much worse loss for a team to lose to Fisher by 30+ (although not that bad of a loss), compared to losing to MUC by that much. I don't think MUC is playing close games with Buff state and UR. I don't disagree with your point, Just sayin.

I think Fisher should be ahead of Del Val (a loss to Iona is close to a loss to MUC), and behind Cortland right now.

I would actually say that MUC would probably Monkey-stomp Iona too.  They are non-scholarship.  But it's debateable which one's loss is "more impressive".

Pep would have to say Alfred's season-opening loss to Ursinus was probably the "most impressive" as, despite eight turnovers, the Saxons were well within winning the game. But as everyone well knows, Pep is somewhat biased when it comes to the Saxons...

Now True Love faces a joust...

This just in.........who cares if you are on the top/middle/bottom of the "worst region in D-III football"?   ;)

I have to give major props to SJF for improving their game greatly from week #1 to last week.  I realize playing Mount isn't always a fair test to determine how good your team actually is for the year, but after seeing (reading about) SJF playing mediocre at best games the following two weeks after the Mount game, I was impressed to see how they dismembered IC.

We over here in Mountland often take for granted what LK and the Purple Raiders have accomplished over the past 20 years.  We forget how incredible it is to continually stay on top of the mountain.  Next year coming to SJF might be the real test of Mount's ability to "reload not rebuild".  A certain QB and RB will be gone.  Arguably two of the best ever to play at the D-III level.

Here's to seeing one of you weak-sisters in the playoffs (provided the committee doesn't decide to continue the false propping up of the East and put Mount there again this year).   ;D

One more thing..........82 has a history of making confrontational, bold statements and then stating after the fact that he was "just misunderstood".   ::)

In an effort to show unity against the Machine called MUC, I have temporarily switched my screen name (To GOEASTREGION82)...it will switch back upon the defeat of MUC at the hands of one of 'our' East region brethren...Ithaca, you are first...GO BOMBERS!!!

QViper:  how is my support of the East Region, especially Ithaca in that post of mine that you quoted, an example of making bold and confrontational statements as SKUNKS claims?

+k.  What a surreal day down here.

I can't believe how quick my dad was to jump on the Rays bandwagon this year (now residing in Venice).  I guess 25 years in the metro-NYC area didn't mean much for his support of the Mets/Yanks.

The crowd sounds great to begin, but I must say that the Trop is the worst MLB stadium that I've seen a game in (barely beating out the Kingdom).  Here's to hoping a deep run in the playoffs greases the wheels for a retractable-dome stadium for the Rays!
Check out the official card game of the AU Pep Band - Str8 Eight!

There has been a lot to love about this club this summer.

As for the Trop, it isn't as bad as it looks on TV and is 20 times better after the owners dumped about $20 mil into it last season.  In my seven years with the club I saw every inch of the place and can say 1) it isn't the best stadium in the league, 2) it moved closer to the bottom of the list when they ripped down Three Rivers, and Riverfront but, no matter what, it will always be better than the Metrodome.

Thought I read that the TB owner was going to build a state of the art park right on Tampa Bay?  Is that truth or rumor?

JQV

There was a proposal and the owner was going to put up about 80% of the money but it needed voter approval because St. Pete's City Charter requires any change to the waterfront to be approved by referendum.  They debuted the plans in February and decided not to call it for a vote this November because they were having trouble lining up voter support so it is back on the drawing board for two years to get voter input.
