The player in question did not go to one knee so the refs couldn't assume he had an injury. Ironic that it was another blocked kick that one the game.

The refs didn't see him until after the fact, period.  They don't know if he was on a knee at any point or not.  Hence why no flag was thrown initially.

it was replayed... the fact is.. the coaches should of made the refs aware of the player... but by the looks of it he was standing and not taking a knee.. in which case it doesn't matter if your gonna be hurt you gotta make it known if not get your @$$ of the field

It's OK, the cowboys lost anyway which is all that truly matters...

Whatever. [/miffed Cowboys fan]

You cant lose arguably the best QB the program has had, two backs that combined for 2000yds and 20 tds, and TWO all americans and not call it a rebuilding year...

The MUC game was in the works for a while so its not like they scheduled it on a whim...

i  agree on the rebuilding year thing...and as much as it hurt to see fisher drop out of the top 25 for the first time in a long time- i truly believe that good things are yet to come.
this program has built itself as a contender and in  think within the next few years we could be talking about a team that goes to the national championship.

pg04

I hope so because I'd really like to see a true eastern region team in the Stagg Bowl.  It hasn't happened since I started Following D3.

There is definatley some great things to build on going into next year but, unfortunatley its looking like an ECAC season unless someone knocks off Wick......

Bailey has been playing out of his gord, he's likely going to have every SJF passing record when he's done.  Heck he's averaging 288yds and has a 2-1 TD-INT ratio, he's completing 61% of his passes as well.  He's a playmaker,  something is going to happen with him having the ball.  Sure he's got to cut down on his turnovers but he's very young so I'll give him a pass on that.

That Eli Hayes, 6-3 180lb freshman, really impressed me on saterday.  He had a great catch and run for a TD and a great KO return to the 2 that was nullified by a holding call.  He's got great size and has some wheels.  He and Bailey should be a fun combo to watch over the next couple of years.

Defensively they're going to loose a TON; Pollock, Becton, Gottlieb, Trapper, Driscoll, Cirulli, Ahmed and Bostic. Replacing those 8 is going to be pretty tough but they've had some good classes coming in so hopefully they'll be able to step up.

If they can get a solid Defensive unit together next year we could be looking at a good run, especially with Wick and IC losing their long time starting QB's.

genius.... schedules are done far in advance... should we have done a cupcake schedule to be 9-1 and get a pool c... ya we should of... but lets look at our losses.... we lost by 30 to Mount who just beat the #4 team in the country 49-7... we lost by 3 to the defending e8 champs and one of the best qbs in the nation... and we lost to the 17th ranked team in the country who was higher before hand... so it 's like we've lost to Brockport, Utica, and Norwich...  but again lets look at this team next year...  and I am gonna go bold... Fisher beats Mount next year first game...

Here's the only things I disagree with you on...

Maybe Hartwick just turned in a bad week up at IC, but SJF still should have beaten them at home. They actually held Boltus in check reasonably well, but to only score 28 points (With 7 coming on a 40+ yard TD as time expired in the first half) shows me that they just weren't focused. Turnovers deep in their own territory, short missed FG's. That's just something that shouldn't happen.

As for Salisbury, Fisher had a two-touchdown lead, and the ball with nine minutes to go, at home. Again, Salisbury is good, but you have to close that game out. There's really no reason for Fisher not to be 5-1 right now. Hartwick is beatable, and even though Salisbury was the higher ranked team, they were beatable on Saturday

superman57

I can't disagree with you... I am disapointed that we are not 5-1... but I am not suprised... I for one predicted 7-3 or 6-4 for this year...

I'm going to be less bold and say there's no way in hell Fisher beats Mount next year.

In other news, anyone remember the last time Ithaca was ranked ahead of Fisher? Probably been a couple years, right?

The best argument you have in this situation, Supe, is that the scheduling of two out-of-region potential playoff teams is not a bad idea in that: a) the MUC game is discounted if you lose it, as long as you don't lose by 70; and b) you win your in-region games in their entirety.  The scheduling of MUC and SAL are a smokescreen here for a bigger problem facing Fisher -- the fact that the Hartwick loss is what will cost the team at the end of the day, not the SAL or MUC losses.
