I worked in PR for 7 years.

check out wilbur's blog on boston.com/redsox.  basically calling the current state of fenway as the most pathetic group of fans ever in fenway history - and being one for 30+ years myself - TGP totally agrees.

tgp had hope after game 1, but will admit to originally picking the sox to lose in 6.  stats favor the rays so much that even if they lose game 5, they will definitely put the series away in tampa.  sox are too banged up, cold offensively and the rays are just hitting the crap out of the ball.

although fox may have preferred a manny/dodgers-papi/sox ws, TGP thinks the Rays/Phils will be a good one for guys who really enjoy good play-off baseball.  less drama, more fundamentals will be nice.

for the sox it's been a good ride, but the rays are the best AL team this year.

Was at Fenway this year for 1st time; for Red Sox-Yanks game 1 of the series that Manny bailed out on...Yanks won 1-0.  Maybe, it was the lack of offensive output, but I was thoroughly unimpressed with the home fan atmosphere.  Especially, b/c the Yanks were in town, I was anticipating a raucous crowd.  Just didnt happen.

In any event, I am suprised that you are bailing out on the Sox considering they had lost 19-8 at home in '04 before winning 4 straight and got blasted 2 in a row against the Indians in '07 before winning 3 straight.  I agree, the Rays look like the team to beat, however they are not the 04 Yankees facing a Sox team that was still facing the 'curse'....plenty of ball left for the Sox.

Been to Fenway in a Jeter jersey many times.... it's a fun thing to do. But I never felt unsafe or anything. That honor belongs to going to a flyers game in a red wings jersey. Philadelphia fans are brutal.

The University of Alabama has the 2nd most Rhodes Scholars in the country behind only Harvard.

U of A actually has quite a decent music school, for what it's worth.....

Although I havent been to a game in a while, I dont think theres anything wrong with the current state of redsox fans that go to the games.  Besides the fact they have money to waste (hundreds a game) that I dont have, I cant think of any fan that would sit at a baseball game in the 7th inning where your team is getting slaughtered by 10 runs let alone stay and cheer.

Softball season's almost over in Colorado.  State tourney will be tomorrow and Saterday.  Our team got seeded second, so if you're bored Pep....I doubt it'll be on webcast, but you can keep up with Legacy Lightning as we try to repeat as state champs.

"i can't wait to line up on saterday and see if your boys are as tough as you guys build them up to be."

Pep: empire8tv.com has the game on webcast this weekend... not a bad alternative if you can't get out there live.

Awesome! I'll watch it from home while I'm doing some PC work.

What's the deal, Pep?  We're not gonna stream this on one of the plasma's in Herrick?  We can definitely round up the Saxon faithful and some snacks for a couple hours.

TGP never bails.  I had hope in 86, 99, 03, 04, 05 and 07.  I still think a comeback is possible, but having watched every single game this season, I am tempering my expectations with this year's squad*.  Sox will win tonight - guaranteed.  DK will get the job done and Kaz will struggle like he has all September.

Otherwise, TGP will look forward to Tito pulling a surprise like starting Joe the Plumber:

No need, if you've followed the progress of my teams (which I'm sure you have with malicious enjoyment) then you know that the hex has already been cast.

Oh, and Keith, if you're out there reading, the answer is urinal troughs!

Man, I have to admit....that is a pretty sweet view of Butterfield Stadium on the home page.  Very nice.

I hear the view of the side-line co-ed's is even more impressive......

Yeah, I was in awe of the view from the Press Box when Brockport played there my senior year.  It really is a great view.

And Cortland.. really the best facilities in D3 of the ones that I've seen (Though I've only been to about 15)
