Union did not "demolish" Ithaca in 2005 nor was it "brutal".

Well, if 69-42 is considered a brutal win...55-41 should be right up there.

27 vs 14???

14 pts is a solid win, its not close to "brutal"...

I saw both games and Ithaca was in control the entire Hartwick game and you could tell they were the better team that day.

You couldn't tell Union was the better team untill the end of the fourth quarter.  Even then I could only say that they played better on those two defensive drives.  Unlike the 1999 ECAC game where Union was better, they played better and they deserved to win.

That was a great game but I couldn't tell who was the better team (or who deserved to win the game anyway) untill Union stopped IC those two times in that fourth quarter.

From my memory Union did have a better running game while IC had the better special teams and probably even with the passing games.

Two quick points.....in '05, Union beat Ithaca by 14 and outgained them by over 200 yards of total offense.  In my mind, that's a pretty solid beating...

Secondly, Union does not have a very good team this year.  With that being said, neither does Fisher.  In the 'Fan Poll' I have been getting hammered for dropping Fisher out of my top 10 (I had them as my preseason #1).  SJF, had 2 fantastic years...folks continue to try to equate that to this years team and should not.

This is a rebuilding year for Fisher....nothing wrong with that.  Many of you guys continue to be surprised by Fishers mediocre/lackluster play in '08.  Can we finally simply face the fact that this years addition of Fisher football is simply not that good....compare the '08 Fisher team to the other '08 versions of the E8, not the previous 2 versions of Fisher.

It is.  I thought SJF was better than IC in 2005 even though IC won the game.  One of those cases where you have to watch the game and use the phrase "the stats are misleading" for a game like that one.

A "beating" to me is when you dominate a team from start to finish and show that you are clearly the better team.  Union did this to IC in 1999 and SJF did it to IC this year.  I did not feeling that Union gave Ithaca a beating in 2005, especially since Ithaca was actually up a TD going into the fourth quarter and may have been able to steal a win if that ball hadnt crashed of the IC players head on that crazy kickoff.

Union did end up stepping up and gave Ithaca a beating in the fourth quarter.  Thats as far as Im gonna go though!

Yeah I mean because playing Mount Union closer than anybody this year, and losing in 4 overtimes to a top 15 team and by 3 to a Hartwick team that isn't exactly a Mount Ida...God Fisher is terrible!

Dont forget that SJF was down to their 3rd string RB for much of the season...

If Biehl and Brown were playing all year im convinced, after watching both of them run all over SC today, that they'd only have one loss to date...

hey upstate, not to sound like a know it all but carlton was not the 3rd string back coming into the year. scott and carlton shared the job with brown working in, up until scott broke his leg. that being said, i do think that having both scott and brown all year would have helped the team out, especially in short yardage.
