Hartwick will fall really hard next year.
Boltus throws for 508 and six TDs, and Phelan catches 14 for 311?

Both graduate... All this e8 title stuff will be moot next year, and probably the one after that too.

DC...when you make statements like that, do you really need to wonder why BoSox and other 'Wick fans think you have a chip on your shoulder and are biased against us?  You claim to be totally objective...and I admit you do a really good job for the most part...but when you say "All this e8 title stuff will be moot next year, and probably the one after that too." it just sounds bitter.  Maybe we do fall hard next year...maybe not.  Maybe we mess up this year...to me none of our games are anything close to gimmies, and if we start looking ahead at all, we are destined for a fall.  But above, you just sound a bit pissed at 'Wick's recent success, and a little jealous...a little bit like the fat girl that didn't get asked to dance at the prom...

I'm curious as to why Fisher fans get so defensive when other people talk about how maybe they aren't that great when from the first week of the season, they've been complaining about the offense, the playcalling, etc.

You guys have been *****ing since day one about this team. So why can't other people be critical too?

I have no problem with people being critical of Fisher...cause they are not that good. I am a Fisher homer as much as anyone, but they have big problems this year. They fumble too much, they throw a lot of picks, and make stupid penalties when they really don't need them. Every team has posters that get uppity when someone trashes their team. There is just more to trash with Fisher this year, than the last couple of years. IC fans got upset when people said they were not that good after Fisher beat on them. And, HC fans did the same when IC put a hurting on them. It kind of goes with being a fan.
GO FISHER!!!

It's not bias at all. I thought Phelan was a senior. I know Boltus is a senior. I think the question is that is Hartwick's offensive firepower just a system thing or what? Can whoever takes over for Boltus be as effective? I don't really believe so... I think Boltus could be a NFL-style talent. Where's the bias in that?

I just think they will struggle a bunch without Boltus next season. This happened after Dan Pincelli graduated as well, HC went 2-8 and 1-9 the next two years. That's all I'm saying. No bias, no anger because my team lost.

Fair enough...I will take you word for it...haha, not that you are looking for it...

Trust me...I was pullling big time for UC today...as I will from here on out, except against 'Wick...

DC, I really enjoy your stuff for the most part but this is sour grapes and totally uncalled for....why soil what they have and will accomplish this year with that crap....

They have accomplished a lot, they could win the E8 again if IC falters.
I'm not taking that away from them, I'm making the point that they will struggle without Boltus (and I thought Phelan was a senior too). There's precedent to it in the past.
No sour grapes at all.
It was an opinion based on some fact (some incorrect fact, to be honest... damn my bad memory) and the fact that there is precedent.
Can HC do as well after Boltus, who has been 60-70 percent of the Hawk offense, graduates. I don't think so.

As bad as this may sound, there just isn't the talent at UC. They play hard and are well coached, but they just don't have the kids to stick with a team like Ithaca. For now, at least

Don't be. Ithaca dominates teams less talented than them. Ithaca loses to teams with equivalent talent to them.

i look at how well blaise did at fisher in the recruiting dept-- i think that its only a matter of time before they are a solid squad

Did SJF just get caught by the triple O today? What happened? It shows a lot of heart though that they were able to rebound and come back. Interesting day in the E8. dewcrew makes a valid point regarding next year and I do agree but, the more I think if I was a Wick fan I would focus and hope on this season and enjoy it. So far aside from losing to IC they have taken care of buisness. Yes this is coming from me. They put up 58 today (granted against Ida) and if they can have a better showing in the tourney (if they make it) they will have my respect. Boltus is just nasty nasty nasty!!!

Not so much the tripple O that got them it was the horrid special teams play covering kicks.  They averaged close to 40yds a return (SC) and took one for a TD and another inside the 20.  I dont care how crappy springfield is, if you give that type of offense a short field its never going to be a positive result for the Defense.

Im shocked as all get out that, even though they looked horrible, the offense put up 440yds.  Its clear they have talent, i dont think that the coaches are getting everything out of that talent.  They go in spurts where that spread is totally predictable.

Don't be angry DC, at least you scored 7 points this year...by the way, we had a great recruiting class come in this year, and hopefully can get some more kids in next year.

Phelan is a only a junior...and why don't we concentrate on the last half of this year before we go into next year banter.

Are you a fortune teller?

Phelan is listed as a senior on Hartwick's roster.  What I can't figure out is if he used up a year of eligibility at Alfred in 2005, but he's listed as "Hartwick '09" on Facebook.

You know upstate I think if you give them time (a year from now) you may see this immature team grow and become more consistent. To me it sounds as if the cardinals have talent but are in the process of finding an identity and waiting for some players to really step up and lead. This takes time but overall I think it will work itself out for this team. I on one hand applaud the SJF schedule this year. Even if the 3 losses fo cost them a tourney shot this season in the long run SJF is a growing power in this region and plying teams like MUC is going to make some very talented HS players in NYS or the east look their way. Just give it a little time.
