Wow, this E8 board died.

I got sick of wading through all the posts of Fisher fans arguing like kids in the back seat of a car.

Pep, any news for Saterday?  Any predictions since you seem to be one of the few people that has seen both teams live?

fisheralum91

i got sick of endless scenerio talk about how IC would finish 1st in the e8  AND how they were getting slighted in the polls

At least the IC tiebreak conversation is based in facts and not rampant speculation and biased opinions...IC wins, Hartwick wins, IC is in. Can't get more clear cut than that, no?

As for the comment about IC fans complaining about being slighted in polls, I will say this: Pot, meet kettle. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: We could save ourselves a ton of trouble if we just moved Fisher to #1

I think this is well said, it goes both ways!

fisheralum91

i agree
well said both of you
we can all get along

boobyhasgameyo

It's pretty clear cut for Fisher too.  Win next week and have Hartwick lose before the season ends.

fisheralum91

bye week booby---have to wait til the 15th

boobyhasgameyo

Yeah I know, that's why I said next week.  But +k for looking out for my factual correctness (this is a nod to fantasy football podcast for anybody out there)

Pep thinks it will be a decent game at Merrill Field Saterday. Pep would say IC comes in as a two-touchdown favorite. In order to compete, Alfred's defense will need to shut down Bergerstock and contain Juvan in the pocket. If AU forces Ithaca to throw the ball, they should be in the game.

The IC defense will probably be better than AU has faced all year and will certainly test Secky and the O-line. The AU offense had its way at UR. Not sure whether that's due to a collapse by UR or AU is getting stronger. But it seems AU gets a bit better with each game, as does Ithaca.

Given the game will be on Merrill Field's turf, sans turnovers, Pep suggests Ithaca should win, 24-17. If AU can force some turnovers and/or get a special teams score, the Saxons have a chance at pulling off an upset.

On Saxon Warriors!

On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

I like the way both teams are playing right now, they're bitchslapping teams they should be...

They have both improved greatly after early season losses, i think if Secky can make some plays AU could very well win it....

If he struggles IC walks away with it...

Both analyses were about what I expected.

We definitely struggled late in the year at Alfred two years ago when we were overlooking the Saxons.  Hopefully that doesn't happen again.

In unrelated news, looks like Cortaca sold out in about 13 seconds today.

As nice as that new stadium is in Cortland, it is too small for the Jug.
