Cough, there's one game before Cortaca, COUGH!!

Well the post was about tickets and seating for Cortaca, anyone who waits until after the Cstate and Port game Saturday to buy tickets has already snoozed and missed.  Nobody is looking past Brockport, that victory is just as important as the 8 previous wins.  It is 60 minutes of seeing if Port can stand before the Dragons.  We will see...

Pep predicts: Mt. Pilot 47, Mayberry 6
Heck, the Mayberry Mushrooms have Aunt Bea lining up at left tackle!
On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

I now officially need a "Mayberry Mushrooms" tee-shirt!  I'll have to get Mrs. Kaz00 to design one over the winter and have the Alfred Sports Shop print some for next season.
Check out the official card game of the AU Pep Band - Str8 Eight!

Alfred resorting to jinxing to win ball games.... almost like the police resorting to magic wands to stop crime....

I am new to this forum and am also a Hartwick Fan.  However, I agree with much of the stuff that has been said on this forum regarding the 'wick in the future.  Lets talk reality here, when Boltus leaves they are going to be in big trouble.  They will not contend next year and with Norwich leaving the conference they might not even win a conference game.  They have a few good young RB's left but that is it.  Both lines are severely undersized, however, they have historically done well with pass protection (unless they are playing Curry and 9 guys are rushing the qb on every play).

Also, I dont like the fact that people do not recognize that they are a dangerous team this year.  I am constantly hearing about how SJF gave the game away...lets talk about the numerous bad penalties that were called on the 'wick throughout the game that were just bad calls, or the few times the wick did not convert on 4th down inside the SJF 20 (I believe there were 2 or 3 failed conversions and a missed fg).  If wick converts on those and you dont score on a hil mary we could have won by more that 20 at your place.

In any event, I dont take any games for granted with this defense and this weekend (Springfield) and next weekend against Utica scare me just because you never know what defense is going to show up.  However, if we win those games there is no way the best offense and the best quarterback in the county should be held out of the playoffs.

Sorry but I just needed to vent.....

Well said NYSGUY. I think many give Wick slack because some posters make outragous ignorant statement s about them because they are fans. I know I have done this to regarding Union but when I have I prepare to get "hammered" because of it. You sound very objective and realistic unlike some others. Boltus is simply awsome and that goes for Phelan to. I agree Wick is a very dangerous team "this" year. They have done what they have needed to so far. One big problem with them is their weak OOC schedule. So even when they have some success they are still going to get questioned. For me, once they beat AU that showed me they really can play and maybe their D has turned a corner. We shall see though. They just can't have anymore NEFC losses and/or give up over 60 a game. You deserve a +K for your post. Welcome ;D

NYSGUY, a reasonable poster from a hartwick fan a rare thing around here so +K to you...

Your right they can do some damage if they get in and get a good match up in the first round...

I would love to see a Wick/RPI game, it could be a barn burner...

Your inline for a pool C bid assuming you win out, so if you guys take care of business you should be in...

You will probably be having a first round road game though so lets hope you dont draw Curry or Plymouth state!!

oh boy  :P

Trust me I hate Wick as much, if not more than you (I blew my ACL/MCL out vs them my Jr year), but the guy was respectable and reasonable so I had to say nice things about wick...

Cough, there's one game before Cortaca, COUGH!!

Calling it a "game" shows your complete disrespect to the tradition and excellence of the Ithaca football program, PG.  I'd be surprised if IC spent even one video session this week preparing for Alfred.  The Bombers can sleepwalk through this game and still win by 30.  It's all about beating an undefeated Cortland and sending them from a potential #1 seed to a #5 or 6 seed.  This saterday's game is like one of those wacky-eye pictures for Ithaca; you gotta look past it to see the real picture!

We can hope both teams look ahead, although I doubt it will happen!!  ;)

How many tickets get sold for a sell-out at Cortland's stadium?

Not that Fisher has any games in which there would be a threat of 'overcrowding', but the good thing about the design of Growney, is that I do not see that there would ever be a sell-out per se.  There is room for at least a couple-thousand standing room tix.  Everything is open within the stadium, plus, perhaps a thousand more could easily and comfortably watch the game with good view from the lawn/fields that surround the South/East endzone and the visitor's bleachers.

It's kinda like an all you can get scenario.  Now, of course if there was game with an anticipated crowd like that of Cortaca, that might force the Administration to actually count and limit ticket sales, so who knows?

Are you goading Pep here? Please, let's not go to the visitors' bleachers.

Pep there's something wrong or wierd with just about every stadium in the E8...

ie...the hillbilly music playing from the woods near AU, the creepy old guys heckling players behind the visitors bench at IC, the kindergarten playground atmosphere at Wick, those stupid cadets in the endzone that has more of a gay pride feel to it than a military feel at Wich, the lack of plumbing and visitor stands at SJF, I never played at Springfield but they're in the state of Massachusetts so there has to be something wrong with it and well just about everything at Utica.

Something wrong with the State of Massachusetts?

I know you give 'Wick a lot of razzing for the loss to Curry & WNEC last year...but I will say this in response.  As far as WNEC goes....there is absolutely no excuse for that loss they were pathetic and just falt out did not show up.  With respect to Curry, the game started with a kickoff return for a TD.  (Lat year as well as this year the Wick Special Teams was just horrendous).  However, Curry for some reason generated a significant amount of more pressure on Boltus than any other team during year.  They were rushing 8 - 9 guys on every play and playing bump & run on the recievers who could not get open in time.  Maybe it was a bad matchup for Wick or just something that the coaching staff was not prepared for, but they outplayed us (as sad as it is to say).

This year teams have tried just about everything against the Wick offense and nothing really has slowed down our offense to this point.  Lets hope it continues.  In any event I am a big Alfred fan this weekend!!!!

whiniest----
hmm
i always thought that was cornered by the ic faithful after a cortaca loss.
or perhaps hartwick fans asking for respect.

hell- the only fans that i respect on a hole (beside fisher fans) are au fans.

I think the excuses, etc of the last few weeks have pushed Fisher up there with 'wick, etc.  Also - I don't think too many people whine after Cortaca....everyone knows thats a game that anything can happen and often does.

also - did you just call AU fans A-Holes?   ;)

NYSguy about time there is a wick poster who admits that the loss to WNEC was bad... thank you

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.
