ok, so If hartwick wins impressive next week, and by impressive I mean 30+ points, and if St. John Fisher and Ithaca both lose, is there a chance that Hartwick could still sneak in the NCAA's?

No way. That loss today to Springfield looks atrocious.

And it won't matter after UC beats them next Saturday...  ;)   ;D

Kudos to IC today and most especially to their O-Line

Ok im not making excuses for the loss today. I didn't see the game today so I don't know exactly what happened. But from the 2 times I did see them (Fisher and Alfred games) they aren't as bad as their record indicates. 1 or 2 more plays and they could win both of those games.

And there's no way Hartwick will lose at home to Utica next weekend.

I hope SJF wins next week, but if they dont it wont bother me as much because I'll know that Wick wont be representing the E8 in the NCAA's...

Is that sad?

Why, yes it is!

OK. I hope it's a good game on Saturday... I may actually try to get over to Oneonta for this one.

This is why they play the games....for 4 weeks we have been 'arguing' about SJF's schedule and their margins of victory and how bad SC is....blah blah blah.  And we have been swallowing how strong IC is and how they have pasted everyone since Fisher....ok, now it comes down to one game on the field and the only team in the E8 that controls its own destiny is Fisher!!!

On to Saxon land we go!!!

Hold your horses bud...

AU had many chances to win this game today, their offense is very potent...

SJF is going to have to bring their A++ game next week in order to get to the NCAA's...

IC is still legit, they are still 8-1 and are in line for a pool A or C depending on next weeks game...

1) Springfield still isn't that good. So they beat Hartwick. They were 0-4 in conference before then. Since when is being able to score points against Hartwick a benchmark for being good? Springfield is 3-6.

2) I would say beating Alfred on the road is a tad more impressive than any win Fisher's had since about Week 4. Especially considering the starting QB and RB were both hurt.

3) If Fisher wins, they're in. If they lose, they're not. Good luck SJF. At least when you make the playoffs, you'll actually put up a fight, unlike Hartwick.

4) Since it's a forgone conclusion that an IC win gets them in the NCAA's, where does a loss leave them? Given that, if SJF wins, IC's only two losses would be to conference champions--one who would be undefeated and probably Top 5--it's possible I suppose.

1  I did not say SC was that good...but they did beat Wick and almost beat SJF.

2.  Your not making excuses about the 30 pt loss 6 weeks ago are you?  You have been rather objective and making good points on here for the past 3 weeks otherwise...

3.  agreed...of course ;)

4.  now everyone wants the benefit of having lost to a 3 loss SJF....OHHHH THE IRONY?

2. Of course I'm not. You made a comment about how "we have been swallowing how strong IC is and how they have pasted everyone since Fisher". Your comment seems to imply that we shouldn't believe IC is strong anymore since they only beat Alfred by 6 on the road. And I simply said, that the Alfred win is a stronger win that your victories over Norwich, Springfield and Utica. I've done nothing but give SJF props for that IC game...since it's the only victory they've got over a team with a winning record right now...The QB and RB comments were about how IC's starting QB and RB both left the game with injuries at Alfred today. IC's backup RB ran for 200 yards...

4. Before, Fisher wasn't a conference champion, now were they?  ;)

Bombers...I did not mean that IC win today is indicative of them being less of a team.  What I meant is that having not even played today, and merely by Wick losing, SJF is suddenly in a position to overcome IC's strong season when 24 hours ago IC was a lock.  I actually have posted several times this season that AU is lying in the weeds as the real power in the E8....they almost proved it today....almost

True, but let me ask you this: Objectively, say IC were to beat Cortland and go 9-1. Would SJF still be the better team for the season?

There's a lesson in this: Never put your season in Team Boltus' hands

Good question....IC beats Cortland and I give them the head to head nod over SJF despite the SJF monkey-stomp (if I concede IC, then I get to throw in the monkeystomp)  If IC loses then you are 2 loss team, we are a 3 loss team , with one loss being to MUC, and one win being a 30 pt win over you.  SJF clearly gets the nod there

All I'll say on this is, objectively, IC has had the better season and if both get into the NCAA's IC will be the higer seed...
