So if I follow the logic of the East Region rankings then this is what may happen with respect to SJF-IC-WICK

If all 3 win this Saterday:  SJF in as Pool A
                                          IC IN AS Pool C
Wick out, because despite their East ranking, the
Committee wont take 3 E8 teams

If SJF WICK win and IC loses:  SJF Pool A
                                                 WICK Pool C
                                                  IC out

If SJF IC WIN, and WICK loses:  SJF in Pool A
                                                   IC IN Pool C
                                                   WICK out

IF SJF loses and IC WICK win:  SJF out
                                                  IC IN Pool A
                                                  WICK in Pool C

IF SJF WICK loses and IC wins:  SJF WICK out
                                                   IC Pool A

If SJF and IC lose and Wick wins:  SJF out
                                                      IC Pool A
                                                      WICK Pool C

If all 3 lose:                                IC in Pool A
                                                   SJF WICK out

I do not necessarily agree with these outcomes, but I based them upon the present East rankings.  For example, I do not see any scenario where a 2 loss Wick gets Pool C, so they certainly wont get in if SJF and IC win and get in.  But apparently they are in line for Pool C under the above scenarios where either IC or SJF doesnt get in if they beat Utica of course!

Wick isn't even in the discussion, barring a real change in landscape.

[Edit:  See my discussion of Pool C in the LLPP.]

Then why are they 6?   That is my confusion....as I say

They may be #6 in the Region, but they are the 4th Pool C team in the Region -- Ithaca, Montclair and RPI must be picked first, and RPI currently doesn't get selected.  Even if RPI is selected, I don't think Wick is picked when balanced against the three other regions' top teams in Pool C at that point.   Look at the final state of the board after Montclair is selected #6 in my discussion.

Note:  Hartwick's loss to Springfield places it below a team like Wooster when both are at two losses.  Also, Hartwick's SoS does not improve after this weekend.

Pep is wondering if any Fisher fans/posters are coming to Merrill Field Saterday. Pep would like y'all to know that AU is presently constructing luxury boxes for Fisher fans on the visitor side hill. Unfortunately, they won't be done before Saterday's game. However, to make Fisher fans feel more at home, they will find a port-a-john conveniently located up behind the visitors' stands.  ;)

Thanks for the 'invite' Pep...I usually make the bi-annual trip to Merrill, I have always had a soft spot in my heart for games at Merrill...it was my first road trip as a Freshman in 92.

Unfortunately, 82 has to sit this one out....the twins turn 1 on Monday and their party is Saterday...I think I almost wrote "Saterday" on the invitations.

Last year when they were born, some buddies were texting me score updates of the 1st round SJF-Bart play-off game while I was at the hospital.  This year I will have WHTK  1180 on.  Kinda bummin I wont be there...was exciting in 2004 when we clinched 'our' first NCAA trip at Merrill ;)

Hopefully we clinch another this year.  Good Luck to AU

GO CARDINALS!!!!!!!!!!!!

82, you aren't the only one bummin about this weekend. In a moment of weakness a few weeks ago, I decided the Fisher season was over, and the game against AU would just be playing out the season. So, I broke down and bought two tickets to the Notre Dame/Navy game this Saterday. What a let down. My Dad and I are making the trip to Baltimore. I have the wife set to go...next to the computer with her cell phone in hand, to send text updates. Tough to imagine a big Fisher game that I am not going to be at. I don't miss many.
GO FISHER!!!

The Misses has attended and graduated from both IC and C-state if you can believe it...The good news is, she is not much of a football person, and if I did not force her into it, she would not attend an outdoor game in November, if there was gold under the seats. The good news...she loves me enough to sit by the computer for 4 hours.

Is that still going on?  I heard Chuck Mitrano cancelled it due to lack of interest back in September...

Me thinks Ithaca should be somewhat interested in the outcome of this game, but yes they are probably a little distracted thinking of chants to make fun of people for going to state schools.
