hey at least they never quit. they fought back and played an ok game. while i don't agree with a lot of the play calls, or the direction of the offense its pretty early to be calling for a guys job. idk, i know its frustrating but congrats guys on playing hard throughout the season. untimely stupid penalties, a boat load of turnovers, and a a-rod like clutch kicking game did us in again. they were dealt a tough schedule and the record shows. before the season, i had buddies predicting at worst a 6-4 year. it would have taken the best game ever by a fisher team to beat mt. union. didn't happen. lost a close one to hartwick, again. lost to a good salisbury team in 4OT's. lost to alfred in OT. couple bounces a different way and fisher is 9-1 in the playoffs. hopefully the program pulls itself back up and comes back next year. this is the point where you see whether fisher was a 4 year wonder or a solid program. i vote solid program.

great post. +K. fisher is definitely a solid program.

He single handedly wasted the senior years of some great players...

Two of the best WR's in the program, the best DT and one of the best DE's the program has ever had and yet all they get is a 6-4 season...

Fisher will be back I am sure...

I have to say, though, they really just didn't show an extra gear except for the last 20 minutes of the IC game. They lacked that killer instinct we see from great teams. The ability to fight through games where they weren't sharp and win (We saw that from IC in the Lycoming game in Week 1). The ability to play an entire 60 minutes and take care of bad teams in convincing fashion. There are a lot of reasons for it, I'm sure, but it's just strange...

I would agree with Upstate though, from IC's standpoint, the SJF game looks like an aberration. Look at these point totals over the last six weeks

41, 51, 42, 37, 43, 35

That's kind of amazing to see. IC had EIGHT games with at least 35 points this season. That's staggering

To my fellow E8 fans.      Don't be so hard or eleated for your teams.  We all get excited and want to win, but it has been a very exciting year.  With the various teams winning and losing to various teams the final outcome  is just as exhilerating.

For example with my Saxons, they once again lost their first game (out of conference)with a frosh QB  by 1 TD, went on to barely lose to 'Wick, barely lose to IC (8pts) and today of course beat SJF.  At no time during the season were the Saxons ranked or even "mentioned".  As Pep has mentioned  (Rodney Dangerfield of the E8). However, we support our coaches and our team in good times and tough times.

This shows the strength and parity of the E8 and the ideal of good sportsmanship.

I'm proud of my team as we should all be.  Now let's root for IC as the E8 Champs as our representative.

Yeah I don't think it really is right to be calling for people's jobs on a 6-4 season (Actually I think it's quite absurd)...  I'm sorry but I think the spoiling of the fans over the past few years is quite evident.  Could it be that the team just wasn't all that good?  And don't give the IC game, I think IC must have crapped that one away...

theoriginalupstate

Im sorry but when the worst RB in recent SJF memory runs for 100yds on 12 carries and yet you throw the ball 60 times (60-31) its just mind boggling...

pg04

But wasn't the score 30-14?  How else are you going to come back?

theoriginalupstate

Check the play calling from the time they scored their first TD untill AU went up 30-14...

5 rushes since they scored the time they scored their first TD to the time that they were down by 16...

5 rushes for about 5 yards...

It went like so on their possessions...

First down-inside handoff
Second down-roll out
Third down-deep pass to the outside
PUNT

that is all that they did all day...

pg04

I don't know, it just seems like sometimes some of the Fisher fans are waaaaaaaaay too willing to just ax coaches left and right...

Jonny Utah

Any chance Hartwick sneaks into this thing?

Hey you wanna totally overhaul and reinvent the offense after two deep NCAA runs and you end up with a 6-4 season your going to take some heat...

He put the offense and the entire team in situations where there was no way they were going to be successful...

Seriously, AU has been tough against the run all season. Perhaps the Saxons had something to do with Fisher's play-calling?

I don't think it's spur of the moment. Play calling has not been good for a few years now. Sometimes talent can overcome those types of things ie: last few years (save the awful Hartwick call last year). This year, the talent is down, and now coaching isn't shielded so much.

Or the fact they were down 2 td's - PG has a point.

Or the fact that SJF ran the rinky dink spread offense all year and forgot how to run the ball?

I will say that AU is going to be the team to beat next year...
