Check the play calling from the time they scored their first TD untill AU went up 30-14...

5 rushes since they scored the time they scored their first TD to the time that they were down by 16...

5 rushes for about 5 yards...

It went like so on their possessions...

First down-inside handoff
Second down-roll out
Third down-deep pass to the outside
PUNT

that is all that they did all day...

Seriously, AU has been tough against the run all season. Perhaps the Saxons had something to do with Fisher's play-calling?

Or the fact that SJF ran the rinky dink spread offense all year and forgot how to run the ball?

I will say that AU is going to be the team to beat next year...

Upstate, I agree with you about the crap they tried to do this year, but you need a running back >175 lbs in order to run the ball effectively.

Or the fact they were down 2 td's - PG has a point.

How did they get down by 2 TD's?

Following the AU TD:
F 1-10 F41   Robbie Brown rush for 1 yard to the FISHER42 (John Soule).
F 2-9  F42   Tim Bailey pass incomplete to Tim Marion.
F 3-9  F42   Tim Bailey pass incomplete to Tim Marion.
F 4-9  F42   Ricky Tatar punt 47 yards to the ALFRED11, fair catch by Trevor Bork.

Following an AU punt leading 14-7
F 1-10 F17   Eli Hayes rush for 2 yards to the FISHER19 (Brian Nitsche).
F 2-8  F19   Robbie Brown rush for loss of 1 yard to the FISHER18 (Nick Clark).
F 3-9  F18   Tim Bailey pass incomplete to Tim Marion.

Following an AU FG leading 14-10
F 1-10 F38   Brad Carlton rush for 1 yard to the FISHER39 (Brian Nitsche).
F 2-9  F39   Tim Bailey pass complete to Eli Hayes for 3 yards to the FISHER42,out-of-bounds.
F 3-6  F42   Tim Bailey rush for 15 yards to the ALFRED43 (Roland O'Brien), PENALTY
FISHER holding 2 yards to the FISHER40, NO PLAY.
F 3-8  F40   Tim Bailey pass incomplete to Dan Witkowski.

Following an AU TD trailing 17-14
F 1-10 F47   Tim Bailey pass complete to Tim Marion for 3 yards to the 50 yardline (Ron Smith;John Soule).
F 2-7  F50   Brad Carlton rush for 5 yards to the ALFRED45 (Nick Clark).
F 3-2  A45   Tim Bailey pass complete to Robbie Brown for loss of 3 yards to the ALFRED48 (Nick Clark).

Following an AU TD trailing 23-14
They throw the ball all the way down to the 20yd line but Bailey once again gets picked off at the 2

I don't know, it just seems like sometimes some of the Fisher fans are waaaaaaaaay too willing to just ax coaches left and right...

Hey you wanna totally overhaul and reinvent the offense after two deep NCAA runs and you end up with a 6-4 season your going to take some heat...

He put the offense and the entire team in situations where there was no way they were going to be successful...

Obviously you follow the team and I don't so you are probably exactly right on the play calling , but I think too that there should be cool down period before the heads roll..

You hide Carlton behind that line, instead of trying to have him run around people and he becomes alot harder to tackle when they cant find you untill your at the 2nd level...

were they not down 30-14?

At the half they were trailing 23-14, still a game...

They pick off AU and then come up with this offensive posession...

F 1-10 F46   Jerry Ogilvie rush for 2 yards to the FISHER48 (Marc Mangovski;Nick Clark).
F 2-8  F48   Tim Bailey rush for 2 yards to the 50 yardline, out-of-bounds (Nick Clark).
F 3-6  F50   Tim Bailey pass incomplete to Tim Marion (Brian Nitsche),

Alfred's QB.......pretty good.  The fact that they will have him for 3 more years just doesn't seem fair.

Good win Saxons, you guys deserved to win the game.

I just wish Jimmy Smith could have played, it's a shame that his career ends with him watching that heart break.

Lastly, Go Ithaca.  I hope they go deeeeep in the playoffs to do the E8 proud, even if it means them rubbing it in Fisher's face along the way.

I will backtrack and say that Carlton didnt rush for 100yds, the AU stats are wrong.  They said he has a long rush of 70 but he didnt....

Alfred is going to be scary good for the next three years...

IC is looking unstoppable on offense right now. I pity the school that will have to come to Butterfield next week

Amazing stat: This is IC's first home NCAA playoff game in 14 seasons

Alfred is the Arizona Cardinals of the E8. Every year "might" be the year...it's doubtful.

Congrats to the Bombers on a nice monkeystomp of Cortland.

Obviously it should be, but I wouldn't assume ANYTHING with the NCAA.

Yeah, but they'd have to import like, four teams from another region in order to pop IC down to #5. They had IC at #2 and Cortland at #1 last week. That's just not likely to happen. The East isn't that terrible.

or Something stupid like Ithaca is the closest team to MUC.   I do think it will be one of the NY teams (maybe Cortland now?) that heads to MUC..  It won't be Plymouth or Husson if they get in.  Remember the "seedings" don't really mean anything.

I'd enjoy an IC / MUC matchup right off the bat with the way IC is playing.

Im not sure about that. MUC been playing just as good if not better for the entire season.
