Truly proud of the men from IC today, especially those who stepped in to fill big roles!! Not a big contributor on the boards here but is it true that this could be the first time in 14 years that IC hosts a home playoff game?

Played @ IC from 92'-94' (91' on the JV squad, darn it!!!) and it seemed that home field was routine. Wow, reminiscing, 94' was a heck of year. I don't believe that we have made it to the semi-finals since then, I could be wrong.

Best of luck men! You have no idea how we all wish we could roll the clock back. You have a unique opportunity. Once in a life time....

That 1994 team was so good...

Wow...crazy day today...crazy.

My two cents...'Wick should get in as the #2 team in the E8...

Well, your Ithaca loss certainly looks better, although your SJF loss looks worse. But you'll have to explain how you lost to a Springfield team that went 3-6 the rest of the season before we let you in

Can't explain the loss.  I just think the E8 is strong enough to argue that two teams should get in.  We all kicked the hell out of each other this year.  If Fisher won today, and IC lost, I would still be lobbying for IC to get a Pool C.

Here's the thing I'd ask:

What is Hartwick's signature win? If you're the NCAA committee, what game could you circle on Wick's schedule that says: "Here's why the Hawks should be in"? Because unfortunately, there is a game you could circle that would say "Here's why they shouldn't be in"

You could say the same about Curry...that is for sure.

Besides...the E8 is brutal this year...everyone beat up on everyone.  Besides Norwich, every team could stay with, and often did, with every other team.  I think it shows the strength of our conference.

I wouldn't go that far...I think the E8 wasn't QUITE as good as we've been saying. They've lacked that really strong no 2. No-one besides Ithaca's even going to be ranked tomorrow. We'll be lucky if anyone gets an "also recieving votes"

I think the E8 is as strong...maybe no solid #2, but #2-#4 are awfully close...besides, why in the world would anyone from the E8 NOT want another E8 team to make the NCAA's?  It only makes the conference look better...

1) Close does not equal playoff-worthy. The #2-#4 are all close, but that doesn't make them good

2) Because Hartwick losing by 45 points to MUC in the first round doesn't do much for the conference. We already know the E8 can't hang with the North. Better teams than this Hartwick squad have lost to MUC

Pretty much any team is going to lose by 45 to MUC in the first round.  I would still love to see the match up...

Sure. I can understand that. Who knows? Maybe Team Boltus can hang 50 on MUC. But it doesn't make Wick worthy of that last spot.

It doesn't make them not worthy either.  They should certainly be in the arguement for one of the last spots.

Yes, but the way it works is, the NCAA will say "Here's why you should be in," not "Here's why you shouldn't be left out." It's kind of like the reasonable doubt thing

I don't think many Pool C contenders have a lot to hang their hats on this year...

Conversly, I understand that SOME Fisher fans that made the trip (and I understand it is a good number) did not cheer on the team as much as they griped at play calling, griped at refs, griped about players etc...  Shame on you!  You did not represent the Fisher team and the college and Rochester for that matter well at all.  I had two close friends from out of town that came to this game and they were shocked that these fans were not being fans and all they did was complain.

Memo to most of those people.   You're in the stands for a reason.... enjoy just watching your team and rooting your children on.  Don't think you can do a better job than anyone on that field, because you can't; again, the reason why you are in the stands and dont have much of a CLUE about what football is and don't understand the game within the game.

There is a definition of a fan, and there is a definition of a coach.   Stick to the former.   It was a disgrace in the stands today and from what I understand, some of you will be a welcome vacancy next year.  Good riddance!!

HHawks

I think wick definitely has a good shot to get in. And I would love to make the trip to Alliance next weekend. What better way for Boltus to end his college career than playing the # 1 team in the country.

Best post I've read all year...

My father is the same way...he's so critical of IC all the time, it's hard to enjoy games. When Grastorf dropped back before that 80 yard TD to Crandall, all my dad was saying is "No, no, no! Stupid!"

I kind of feel like some---key word, some---SJF fans wanted the team to lose today. If only to validate their belief that the team was poorly run this season. If they had won the conference and maybe pulled off a 1st round upset, they'd have less of a leg to stand on. But now, coming in 4th place in the E8 and having to go to the ECAC's, it's just proof in their minds that this coaching staff is clueless, has no idea to how to maximize available talent or call games.

There are a lot of SJF fans who are true fans, and understand that some seasons will be rougher than others. And every team has their "hard-to-please" contingent. But you know, outside of I think 82's comments I've heard very little of "Hey, tough season, but the guys did the best they could" or "That's ok, I think we'll be back tough next season" It's all negative

He's a great QB, but man, when I think of them in Alliance, it smells too much like the Sugar Bowl between Hawaii and Georgia. Hartwick does one thing well: Pass the ball. How quickly do you think a team like MUC is going to latch onto that?

True, but there's a difference between "A hard time" and "Down 42-0 early in the 2nd quarter"

I think, they can score on them. If they don't turn the ball over I really think they can test that defense.
