I think wick definitely has a good shot to get in. And I would love to make the trip to Alliance next weekend. What better way for Boltus to end his college career than playing the # 1 team in the country.

He's a great QB, but man, when I think of them in Alliance, it smells too much like the Sugar Bowl between Hawaii and Georgia. Hartwick does one thing well: Pass the ball. How quickly do you think a team like MUC is going to latch onto that?

That may be...but who is really going to give MUC a hard time until the Championship game?

True, but there's a difference between "A hard time" and "Down 42-0 early in the 2nd quarter"

That is almost every game MUC plays...

Exactly. You guys won't be any different

Exactly...no one would be any different...so arguing how to stay with and who could stay with MUC is a moot point...

I kinda forgot how this debate started. I just don't believe the Wick is good enough to deserve a playoff spot. I've been wrong before, and I will be again I am sure. I just happen to feel opposite you guys

And what about SJF????? Come on, that 6-4 record really is 6-2 when you consider one game was against MUC and the other was 4 OT's against Salisbury!!!! Plus, we KILLED Ithaca and gave them their only loss. Surely, that's good enough for Pool C!!!

The AU-SJF game was great to watch.  Talk about a "tale of 2 halves"!  Outside of a fumble recovery for a TD, Fisher only scored once in the 1st half.  In the 2nd half, after scoring on their 1st possesion, I don't think AU even had another 1st down!  Each team dominated a half.  It was nice to see AU finally win a close one (Hartwick and IC).  Hey Pep, thanks for the invite to the pinochle game.  Good luck to IC in the NCAA's.  Hopefully the E8 will show itself well in the ECAC's and NCAA's.

Boltus is probably good enough to move up the ladder, but Team Boltus is seriously up to debate.

I vote we give Boltus to Cortland State and go from there

Conversly, I understand that SOME Fisher fans that made the trip (and I understand it is a good number) did not cheer on the team as much as they griped at play calling, griped at refs, griped about players etc...  Shame on you!  You did not represent the Fisher team and the college and Rochester for that matter well at all.  I had two close friends from out of town that came to this game and they were shocked that these fans were not being fans and all they did was complain.

Memo to most of those people.   You're in the stands for a reason.... enjoy just watching your team and rooting your children on.  Don't think you can do a better job than anyone on that field, because you can't; again, the reason why you are in the stands and dont have much of a CLUE about what football is and don't understand the game within the game.

There is a definition of a fan, and there is a definition of a coach.   Stick to the former.   It was a disgrace in the stands today and from what I understand, some of you will be a welcome vacancy next year.  Good riddance!!

E8...from this post Pep concludes you were among the Fisher faithful at Merrill Field. Thanks for making the trip to Mayberry. It ain't the end of the world but you can see it from here! Pep cringed every time AU punted because Tim Marion was back there ready to run one back for a TD. He is one outstanding football player. Everytime the Saxons seemed to have him wrapped up, he'd squirm out and go for another 5 or 10 yards. Outstanding effort! He singlehandedly kept the Cardinals in the game.

Pep took as a compliment to the band that in OT, Fisher chose to play it out at the OPPOSITE end of the band. After reading some of the posts on here about the Saxons and their not making it to the NCAAs, and the fact that AU fans nevertheless are positive, upbeat and supportive, Pep and Kaz00 at the start of the season suggested that a 6-4 season would be good finish for what we considered a "rebuilding" year. Our Saxons surpassed our expectations, finishing 7-3... but we see areas that need improvement for 2009.

AU Pep Band is all about supporting our team...in the midst of adversity and in its successes. The band started with kazoos back when AU was perennially flirting with a .500 season. It's been a whole lot more fun the past five seasons as AU has gone 8-3, 9-2, 8-3, 8-3 and now 7-3. Alfred was shafted in '05. It deserved an NCAA invite; it's been flirting with an NCAA bid ever since. Win or lose, AU Pep Band has fun and, in supporting the Saxons, attempts to promote the AU spirit and create a game-time atmosphere that our D3 student-athletes deserve. And, quite frankly, Pep loves music and the dynamic that it adds to any athletic contest. And a live band with real fans (AU Pep Band members love our Saxons) is much better than canned music.

Congratulations to St. John Fisher on a well-played game...congrats to the Bombers and best of luck in the NCAAs...and thank you, Saxons, for an exciting season! Alfred Rocks!

Best post I've read all year...

My father is the same way...he's so critical of IC all the time, it's hard to enjoy games. When Grastorf dropped back before that 80 yard TD to Crandall, all my dad was saying is "No, no, no! Stupid!"

I kind of feel like some---key word, some---SJF fans wanted the team to lose today. If only to validate their belief that the team was poorly run this season. If they had won the conference and maybe pulled off a 1st round upset, they'd have less of a leg to stand on. But now, coming in 4th place in the E8 and having to go to the ECAC's, it's just proof in their minds that this coaching staff is clueless, has no idea to how to maximize available talent or call games.

There are a lot of SJF fans who are true fans, and understand that some seasons will be rougher than others. And every team has their "hard-to-please" contingent. But you know, outside of I think 82's comments I've heard very little of "Hey, tough season, but the guys did the best they could" or "That's ok, I think we'll be back tough next season" It's all negative

Yeah because my post when I got back from the game was so negative.  You know congratulating Alfred on a deserved victory and saying how good their quarterback was.  You guys just love to jump on a couple of the Fisher posters and generalize it to all of us.  I think the offense this year was ineffective and needs to be redone in the offseason, but I'm not calling for anybodys head.  Neither is supes.  Neither is FA91.  Neither is sjfcards.  Neither is fisheralum05.  and so on and so forth.

Well E8 since I was sitting there, and looking at the crowd first hand instead of from the booth I can tell you that the ones yelling out comments and being negative are most likely not the people who post on here so your lecture is falling on deaf ears....or eyes in this case.

I agree with you on Marion though...He has been amazing all year.  Fisher may not have had the single best receiver in d3, but I think we had the best 1-2 combo in the country.  That's why it was such a shame Smith was out the past couple of weeks.  It's weird too because I remember last year people were dogging Fisher's receivers early on, who knew they would turn out to be our greatest strength this entire season.

Understanable Booby but any independent analysis might go for Manzer and Bork.  Where do you think Alfred would be without them? Or don't you think Alfred got anywhere?

I was at the game yesterday, and there was a ton of positive cherring for Fisher. After the game as the players left the field "ALL" the parents and fans clapped as the players left the field. Memo to E8, other than the opening drive, the offensive play calling was HORRIBLE. We had A receiver #11, quit on a route multiple times, Our QB still is clueless with this passing game after 10 games. Tim Marion and the Defense played there ASSES off, but this offense SUCKS. If Parks comes back look for no improvement next year. E8 you said the middle of the field would be open all day, how many times did Fisher throw the ball down the middle? E8 when you watch the films today please give us another breakdown. Also, who decided to switch kickers, Tater kicked all the extra points and field goal except the last one.
Fans are Fans without them there would be no games, and if you can't take the booing then don't play the game.

Cortland has more problems than just QB.  I love that IC smoked em ... I feel that the NJAC gets more respect than the E8... and Cortland in general everyone in NY thinks they would Dominate in the E8 conference...

I think we found the booing fan...  is E8 really a coach?  I have been absent lately and am just catching up I didnt know if you were all breaking his chops or not...

Not to stick up for E8 because if he is really i coach i am not but fishfan sounds awful bitter.  HORRIBLE play calling... why because the plays didnt end up working correctly?  I dont think they called power on third and 15....  QB Clueless after ten games... doesnt understand the passing game.... if thats the case then how is it Parks fault?  your two statements dont make sense together... so is it HORRIBLE play calling or a clueless QB.... or a clueless POST?
