I love how the Fisher and Hartwick guys are still going back and forth at each other. It's like Canada and Greenland declaring war on each other---nobody cares.

Upstate- Not that we deserved to beat the Browns last night, but why? Why why why why why? This is so much worse than when the seasons were over after week 3...

No need to step on SJF when they are down for one year.  I am sure your comments were in jest though.

Its ok though...I happen to be happy that SJF is still playing, albeit in the ECAC's.  I am happy for those seniors who may be embracing the opportunity to do something to end their careers on a positive note

BTW...I JUST PASSED YOU IN POSTS 1217-1216 ;)  +K

82, averaging about 0.1 more posts per day than max.... gotta give a +k for that.

Re: the Fisher comments, yes it's in jest. I think most things on this board are. That's why I love KonArtist, because he cheeses FA91 off so much by doing so little.

Plus, fishfan has brought some internal strife to FisherNation... these boards are almost as exciting as the NCAAs!

Ooh, sorry Fisher guys.

Ooh, sorry Fisher guys.

Maybe we can make fishfan play on the NEFC boards or something.

Also, can we still call Hartwick "Team Boltus" after this season? It was such a great name, it seems a shame to waste it after like, 5 weeks. I think that's a great poll idea

Norwich is leaving the E8 after this season.

Has anyone heard what the conference wants to do, if anything, to keep the AQ?

Any change in previous discussions?

Thanks.   :)

There has been talk of getting a SUNY school in here, the E8 just voted to allow SUNY schools over the summer and there was an invitation for Cortland to join...

Unless Cortland/Brockport jump from the NJAC the E8 may be going pool B...

Brady! Brady! Brady!  But in all seriousness Phil Dawson is a god.  Add last night's kick to last years Bills kick, the Ravens game last year and countless other GW field goals.  With no offense for so many years Browns fans love Phil.   We are also 8-1 when his wife sings the national anthem.  Last nights kick was serious.  I am praying he starts to do the Pedro cerrano dance after each big kick.  dude has MARBLES!

I am hearing that they wanted to but money is an issue.  IC and other private schools can bring in 150 football players and their 40,000 tuition.  Cortland would need to field that same 150 to be competitive (JV team) and that would require a lot of state money which is not exactly being passed out like candy right now.

If I were on the team I would.  I'd much rather play decent teams that are mainly about an hour and a half away as opposed to decent teams that all reside in New Jersey....Frankly I don't know how those Springfield and Norwich players do it.

I think it would be no different than where they stand in the NJAC.  Cortland, Rowan, Montclair with Kean and TCNJ vs IC, SJF, AU with occasional spoiler years from Wick and SC is pretty even.  Adding Cortland would be a serious boost to the E8 in terms of national ranking of the conferences.  We may probably just end up pounding the hell out of each other and knock each other out of pool C bids again like what happened this year....

I think Cortaca would become the de facto conference championship game in the future.

I would make the schedule as such:

Week 9:
SJF vs CState
IC vs AU

week 10:
IC vs SJF
Cstate vs AU

week 11:
IC vs Cstate
AU vs SJF

Hows that for an Upstate Gauntlet to finish the season!!

I don't buy that one.  I mean, how many tens of millions did they spend on that athletic complex in the first place?

And Im going to say a small percentage of IC students are paying even half of the 40K tuition.

Ithaca please don't lose to curry. Last year Hartwick was looking forward to St. John Fisher part 2, and got Smacked in the mouth for it.

Very much looking forward to playing 'Wick in '09

Why...we cant beat 'em?

I think there are several reasons.  1 being that 'Wick is a team that is truly hard to take very seriously.  Forget the fact that they are primarily a soccer school first, they've lost to Curry, and took more than 70 to beat Utica.

When you have that kind of anecdotal evidence out there, after you get done beating up on a true football program (IC), I think its understandable that we just looked past them these last few seasons and had a hard time getting up for that game. . .

That changes in '09 though - 3 touchdown margin at least.

Ok, in 07 maybe, but this year there was no way you guys were looking past them. You were just beat. Face it, the team that lost to curry, gave up 70 to utica, cant win on the road, plays no defense, and only has Boltus (did I miss anything?) was the better team.
