Just want to say congrats to Jason Boltus. What an accomplishment it is to be selected for the national combine out of a small D-III school.

I don't know if this topic was already covered, but how many D-III athletes have ever been invited to the combine? I'm pretty sure Garcon was there last year, and I think Brett Elliott a few years back. But i'm stuck after that...

Boltus has been invited to the NFL combine in Indy...announced a few days ago...pretty cool stuff

Big time congrats to Boltus on this one.  It looks like he is the only player in D3 to get an invite to the combine this year...and only the fourth D3 player since 2003 to get invited to the combine period (Garcon from MUC in 2008, Allan from Whitworth in 2007, and Hoag from Gustavus Adolphus in 2003).

Boltus was also invited to compete in the Texas Versus the Nation All-Star Game...one of only 4 players not from DI or DI-AA...and once again the only D3 representative.

Yanks did Boltus decline the offer to play in the texas Versus Nation game? I didn't see his name on the roster????? Just curious.

I don't think Brett Elliott was invited to the combine...though he was a hell of a player.  As far as I can find, Boltus is only the fourth D3 player since 2003 to get invited to the combine period.  The others are Garcon from MUC in 2008, Allan from Whitworth in 2007, and Hoag from Gustavus Adolphus in 2003.

Does anyone know of anyone else that has been invited to the combine from D3 in the last 10 years?

QuoteAs Keith knows, we never duck the tough decisions. We could put 75 people on the honorable mention team like Don Hansen did when he had All-American teams, but we never have. Football is played with 11 on the field at a time. If a coach has to decide which quarterback to play (don't get me started on the A-11, let's talk normal offenses) then so do we.

Well said, Pat.

Tired of having such a mediocre Offense run by someone who is supposed to be an "Offensive Genius".

Gruden is 0-2 in playoff games since the Super Bowl year and the 0-4 collapse this season, when they were in the driver's seat for the Top Spot in the NFC South.

Timing is interesting, but I hope they have contacts with someone (maybe Shannahan, Cower, Shottenheimer, etc.) to come in.

They just promoted their DB coach (Rahim Morris) to DC last month, so bringing in someone to jump start the Offense would be great.

Gruden, IMO, just tried to be too fancy all the time and his Offense is based on having the "Perfect Match-ups" with all the shifts and motions.  When it didn't work out, the O just stalled.

He also has no skills in developing a Young QB.   All the QBs that could "run" (in his eyes) his offense were Veteran QBs who could grasp the complexity.

One more post gives Pep 2500....it might as well be here, where no one posts anymore. This past cold snap took its toll on the Bandwagon....

Pep kicked some of the crud from behind the left back wheel, only to have it come off and hang with the taillight wire frozen in it, which dragged behind. The frozen crud finally fell off, but not before breaking the taillight wire.

Pep's driver door panel has come loose and the tape holding it on has loosened as well. Once the temperature rises enough, it will need a wash job (and dry) before Pep superglues the panel back in place.

One freezing morning, Pep went to adjust the rear view mirror and it came off in his hand. Perhaps the black dice were a bit too weighty for it.

Pep really should replace the radiator, confirmed as a slow leak leaves the level too low to generate much heat for the car.

To add insult to injury, both the Windshield Wiper Fluid and Fuel lights, indicating they are low, came on yesterday.

Pep will make an appointment with his cousin/mechanic up the street...need an oil change as well, as the odometer now reads 310,900.

But no matter the weather, the Bandwagon starts up first time every time!!

Haha normally I don't care much for the Bandwagon updates but this one made me laugh, I think it was visualizing the rear view mirror snapping off in your hand.  +k pep, hope the offseason (car issues aside) is treating you well

It's been a while.... But Im back on the boards after a long break filled with very little activity.

I realized today that as of Sunday, football season is over.  The pro bowl can barely count as football.  I actually enjoy the skills events leading up to the actual game better than the game itself.  However, I would like to say that I hate Time Warner Cable.  I was not able to watch the senior bowl nor will I be able to watch the combine because Time Warner Cable is ruining televsion.

Even though Adelphia screwed over half of Buffalo, at least they didnt have contract disputes with 80% of the most popular channels.  Thank you for contributing to the miserably long and already depressing offseason.

I thought about posting here two weeks ago asking about how the Bandwagon was handling the sub-zero temperatures when I passed Pep on the way to work on one of those frosty days.  I'm glad to find out that it was business as usual for the Bandwagon!
