also... i thinks its funny that ESPN is doing stories on Boltus and D3Football.com isnt...  unless i missed something

Let's see, the majority of the staff for D3football is also the staff for d3hoops.  The regular season is ending for basketball, conference tournaments are gearing up and the NCAA tournament is looming.  I am willing to bet the D3 sports staff is pretty busy with the sports season that is currently running and would probably like to cover Boltus at the combine but don't have the resources.

ok so you have accounted for the last few weeks of basketball ... what about before that?  Its a good story... you would just think  a d3 kid getting invited to the combines would be something they would like to highlight.....

simple enough answer...its not like pat is some stranger on here...pat is all over the place and you can email him anytime/anywhere...instead of griping on the boards nonstop why dont you shoot him a pm and ask him why, my guess is pat would have a very good answer for you if you gave him the chance. otherwise it sounds like nothing but sour grapes whining non stop on the boards

How about this, instead of crying and whining write the story yourself and submit it to Pat for consideration.

-K for being a tool.

I did not whine just brought up a point nor did I shed a tear... yet... and for your information I did bring this up to Pat a few months back...

I seriously dont know how I'm going to get through the day knowing that I got a -K and that you think I'm a tool... its pretty much a compliment coming from you

Did they do a piece on Allen a couple years ago?

I'm not sure if they did, but if they didn't you have no reason to be bitter about it...

Also is he going there to work out or just throw to the WR's and TE's??

Because if he's going there to throw to the WR's and TE's, there's a pretty good chance that that was the only reason to bring him in...

No he's there to work out... he's doing the lifting, running and throwing with all of the other QBs ... maybe they just want to see him throw more because he is a no namer i dont know

in pbr's book when you keep posting about the same negative thing over and over its called whining...but pbr guesses we will just have to disagree so feel free to keep posting and complaining about the lack of coverage...

Pat Coleman

We talked to Hartwick early on about getting Boltus to do a draft prep diary for us but a bigger site got him. That's very understandable, and honestly, that's why we don't usually pursue these types of things.

Aside from that, no, we don't have the resources this time of year to devote much to football. Those of you following us on Twitter got a notice last night about Boltus being on First Take this morning. In January we had a story in What We're Reading on the front page that up for about a week and a half.

And no, we didn't do anything of our own on Michael Allan. In February 2007, NBCSports.com did a video feature on him which we linked to prominently, on the front page for about a week.

http://www.d3football.com/notables/2007/02/21/1202/preparing-for-the-nfl-draft.html

This took about 15 minutes of work on my part and cost us nothing to do.

If the First Take video is archived (I already checked with my ESPN contacts, however, who were doubtful) we will give it the same treatment. If the NFL Network does something with him and archives it, I have friends over there as well.

Basketball is more than just February. Basketball starts playing on Nov. 15, and we have to work double time in November and December to keep both sites up to date. D3hoops.com definitely takes a back seat. I concentrate on D3football and Gordon Mann does his best to keep D3hoops.com up to date.

Gordon has a full-time job. He got married in January. Keith has a full-time job and two kids. I have a full-time job and three kids.

Honestly, if you were at all familiar with our draft coverage over the past five years this would not be a surprise to you. We pick up our draft coverage at the end of March, after the Final Four. But it's hard for a couple of part-time people to do the kind of coverage you are demanding. I'm sorry. That's just reality. Everyone's on a D-III budget, including D3sports.com.

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

go pat!!!!

Supes...way to jump right in and kiss Pat's a$$...total surprise...I understand "fans" being completely loyal, but sometimes it seems like you guys are jumping over each other the second you sniff Pat on these boards.  Not all...just some...

That being said...Pat...pretty solid answer.  You take too much offense to things though.  Honestly...I didn't think BoSox answers/posts were anything more then simply having a little fun.  Relax a little bit.  That was enough of an answer and explanation for me...not that it matters.

That being said...good luck to Boltus.  I cannot wait to see his workouts.  I have been hearing good things from behind the scenes.  Now imagine if he had been one of the four best QB's in D3 this year...

I didn't take it as whiney...he throws out a little zinger and people start lining to dry hump Pat's leg.  Trust me...we all appreciate what Pat and the rest of the folks that run this site do.  I am just not ready to name my first born after him.

It was definitely Whiney and beating a dead horse.  Quite frankly I'm sick of hearing about Boltus now because of all this.  It looks like all of you need to name your first born Boltus, or dry hump him...

Nice...good, solid, well thought out response...mediocre sense of sarcasm, and using my own zinger against me...

A+ for originality to you PG!!!

Besides...we aren't exactly lighting up the boards these days.  If this were any kid from the E8 getting a shot at the NFL, I would be stoked.  And too late...I already asked my wife about naming our first kid after Boltus and she said no...which was shocking because she is a big Jason Boltus fan.

So IC has Widener, Union and Cortland as nonleague games next year.

Are Frostburg, Kings or Lycoming going to be on there at all?

And no gossip or rumor on any additions to the E8?

Sarcasm alert! And yes, I'm aware these boards are feeling the winter blues...

And why is there an arrow at the top of the d3boards pages (looks like some dangling HTML).  lol

Man...that is a tough non league schedule.  I know IC lost a lot of players this year...how do you think they will hold up?  Obviously, great program...so competing is not the issue...are they deep enough to sustain a few injuries along the way?

The last that I heard, the additions to the E8 was kind of at a stalemate.  E8 doesn't really want to bring in some of the obvious potential choices (Cortland, Brockport, Buff State)...but is losing options fast.  You have to wonder with the state of the economy if Springfield will continue to travel central/western NY.  It is a long trip to Ithaca, Hartwick, SJC, Utica, and Alfred (at least 2 trips this far every year).  If SC leaves...I think you might see the end of the E8 and LL and maybe some sort of combined "NYS League"...simply for self preservation.  In the LL's case, much like my example with SC in the E8, you have to wonder if WPI is going to eventually leave for the NEFC, or some other league in NE.

You add the 5 NY teams from the E8 (IC, Hartwick, SJF, AU, and Utica) with the 5 NY teams from the LL (RPI, Hobart, SLU, Union, and Rochester), and you would have a great league...and still have room for one non-league game (keep the rivalry of the Cortaca game).  I think someone else brought this up on here before.  Though not a huge fan of this so called "super league" I think you may see AD's drift to this to cut down on costs.
