Silence is golden. Pep hasn't posted in nearly a month and his karma is through the roof! Thanks.....I guess!?! Guess Pep is more appreciated when he doesn't say anything.

With that said, On Saxon Warriors...to the AU Football Awards Banquet this Saturday, Feb. 28. And the band will be there to play some pre-dinner music, then enjoy the fabulous food, with much thanks to Coach Dave Murray!

Pep is hoping to see the band in the highlight reel this year....but not likely to happen. Nevertheless, the band had a great year once again.

Now to the important matters, Pep is in sort of a weird dilemma. It seems the Bandwagon is acting out of character, and despite a new radiator, is leaking anti-freeze, sounds like the water pump is getting tired, plus more grunts from under the hood that could be a wheel bearing. Does Pep call it "The End" and take her off Life Support? 312,575 miles...
Pep is now in possession of a 2000 Dodge Caravan and perhaps the Bandwagon, seeing the "other van" in the driveway, is losing its will to live, purely out of jealousy?

The Bandwagon....a source of pride for Pep, in an absurd sort of way.
On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

As the great Gordon Sumner said, "If you love somebody, set them free."  Just make sure the new Bandwagon has enough metal in its frame to support the Pep Band magnets for away games!
Check out the official card game of the AU Pep Band - Str8 Eight!

Want to live "in a van, down by the river!?!" We've got the van for you—now you find the river! Well tested "classic" 1992 Dodge Grand Caravan LE. Only 312,000+ miles, still alive and kicking. Loaded with extras...some of them even work! This van has been places and has a ton of stories to tell. A sure collector's item, perhaps even a museum piece. Make a generous offer.

We talked to Hartwick early on about getting Boltus to do a draft prep diary for us but a bigger site got him. That's very understandable, and honestly, that's why we don't usually pursue these types of things.

Aside from that, no, we don't have the resources this time of year to devote much to football. Those of you following us on Twitter got a notice last night about Boltus being on First Take this morning. In January we had a story in What We're Reading on the front page that up for about a week and a half.

And no, we didn't do anything of our own on Michael Allan. In February 2007, NBCSports.com did a video feature on him which we linked to prominently, on the front page for about a week.

http://www.d3football.com/notables/2007/02/21/1202/preparing-for-the-nfl-draft.html

This took about 15 minutes of work on my part and cost us nothing to do.

If the First Take video is archived (I already checked with my ESPN contacts, however, who were doubtful) we will give it the same treatment. If the NFL Network does something with him and archives it, I have friends over there as well.

Basketball is more than just February. Basketball starts playing on Nov. 15, and we have to work double time in November and December to keep both sites up to date. D3hoops.com definitely takes a back seat. I concentrate on D3football and Gordon Mann does his best to keep D3hoops.com up to date.

Gordon has a full-time job. He got married in January. Keith has a full-time job and two kids. I have a full-time job and three kids.

Honestly, if you were at all familiar with our draft coverage over the past five years this would not be a surprise to you. We pick up our draft coverage at the end of March, after the Final Four. But it's hard for a couple of part-time people to do the kind of coverage you are demanding. I'm sorry. That's just reality. Everyone's on a D-III budget, including D3sports.com.

About a month late since I haven't been on the board in forever, but bravo. This site is a great thing for countless numbers of people, and Pat and the people involved do a hell of a job with the site.

It sounds like the RPI coach wants nothing to do with playing the best teams possible though.

I don't think that's really true at all, JU.

Dewcrew, I think he is even quoted saying that it doesn't make sense to play great non-league teams.  The qoute was posted on here before.  It might have been on FR and Rts radio program.

It was after the 1st game of the 07' season. A reporter from the Albany TimesUnion was grilling King about his nonleage schedule. finally King got fed up and flat out told the guy that the league schedule was hard enough and he wasnt looking to schedule tough non league opponents.

Yeah because the LL is well known as being one of the toughest conferences in the D3 landscape....

Good point

TO will be fine if they actually drop some nads and open up the offense.

I'm still not sold on Trent... JP or not.  He'll be dismantled by TO soon enough.

Me neither, last year he was missing open WR's and was extremely hesitant to pull the trigger.  We'll find out if Edwards is good enough this year with Evans and Owens, he's got no excuses this year....
