and yet it doesnt get done.
i know that ive only been going for the past 3 seasons - but when were they planning on putting facilities in?
the courage bowl is always a sell out- IC is crazy, Playoffs are packed - and now MUC comes to town-----we are talking about bathrooms......oh- and visitors stands--but i care little for those-haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

I really don't anticipate the Mount Union game drawing well though.  It's before classes start and returning students won't even be there, just Freshman.  If the Mount Union fans travel well, they can probably sit on the home side and outnumber the Fisher fans.

well I managed to get the political thread of "Dr baby killer" all locked up for my radical opinion that murdering babies is wrong, so I guess I will come back here and discuss some good 'ol fashioned football where I never manage to piss anyone off... ;)

And since 82 is apparently incapable of even stating his own views correctly, I'll just say it wasn't for that view that the board got locked, but what he advocated be done.

havent been to the political boards in a long time but just went and saw what was said and pat your right on....82's views and wishes are way over the top, and as moderator and site owner you were well within your rights and should of done what you did in fact pbr is surprised 82 wasnt thrown into the penalty box a.k.a. cooler for 2 months to chill out for that comment.  pc showed a lot of restraint imho

abortion is a messy topic to disuss.  And not to defend '82 here (I'm kind of on the other side) but I mean, if you really believe that abortion is murder, then you could logically support the murder of those who perform abortions right?  There isn't a right or wrong answer here.  Not too much different than the death penalty or vigilantism.  I guess '82 could have put it a different way though and not releated it to the actual event that happened since he is/was advocating breaking the law in a certain regard.

Anyway, I don't mean to bring this to the LLPP so I wont discuss it further.

Wow...miss a day or two and the conversation goes from where is the best place to watch a D3 game to abortion and political decisions. I think I will stay out of that one.

Going back to some Football talk from earlier, I think the MUC/Fisher game will have a big crowd, but it will be a different type of crowd. I think the Student Section will be small and muted. I remember when I was a freshman at Fisher and the first game (a one point loss to U of R) was before the rest of the student body came to campus. Almost the entire freshman class was there, because it was something everyone knew was going on and it was the first real social gathering of our college lives. However, we were not very vocal. Mainly because we really didn't know the people we were sitting with (We didn't want people to think we would be the guys who sit around at night and discuss D3 Football online in early June  ;D)

I think a lot of alumni and casual fans of the Fisher program, as well as a larger than normal contingent from the Rochester Area, will make their way to the game to see MUC up close. If any D3 team can pull from a lot of different markets it is them.

Good Idea... The issue is such a powder keg.. and quite frankly what went on in the other room was absurd.

And since PC thinks that you all cannot discern for yourself what my view points are, he has to preemptively come on here and mischaracterize my relatively black and white position...PC what exactly did I advocate for?  What was done (the killing of Dr. T(K)iller) was already done.  I did not advocate for his death, I simply took the opportunity to express my feelings about his untimely death and how it relates to the untimely deaths of the unborn babies that he was killing.

Back to football for a moment...Pep has learned that Hobart has turned down Alfred's offer to meet the Statesmen at Boswell on Oct. 17, 2009. Apparently, Hobart prefers a nine-game schedule. 'Tis a shame...the two go waaaaaay back (probably Hobart is about the closest opponent that AU could consider a "rival") and Pep always enjoyed games at the Boz. It's an easy trip for Saxon fans, but not to be in '09.

I would be curious as to the thought process for Hobart turning down the tenth game....and in reality if they were just turning down playing AU.  Seems like the 9 game schedule doesn't help and ultimately can only hurt them come playoff selection time.

Im thinking that Hobats theory is that since the chance is probably small that the LL (or any league) gets more than one team in after the AQ, playing a game that you probably only have a 50% chance of winning might give you less of a chance to make the playoffs than if you didn't play at all or play a team that you have a higher chance of beating (not Alfred).  So if Hobart goes 8-1 with their only loss to the LL winner, they have a better shot at the pool C compared to if they were 7-2 and in the same situation.

Then again, some schools probably feel that football is a long season, and nine games with some byes makes it better for student athletes in terms of classes, rest, studying, health etc...

But what happens if you beat that quality team? I would always rather take the shot and lose than not play and back in to the tourny. I think it would have to be a money influenced desision.

Not to mention it is Hobart and not some meiocre team. They have been very impressive in the last few years, and I would say, if they played Hobart this season they would be the favorite. Maybe only slightly, but still a favorite.

I think AU is going to be nasty on offense this year and probably will lead the E8 in scoring.

Also anyone have any clue on if SJF is getting the 10th game? I've heard something along the lines of possibly playing higher division schools.

Pep is thinking the Saxons will miss Bork hauling in passes. The kid had an uncanny ability to go up and get the rock in a crowd and was sure-handed. Milton Harding, if he works as hard as he did last summer, could fill Bork's shoes....need another threat to keep Manzer loose.

Running game will need to improve. Pep is hoping that Hendrix will be back to 100% after an injury-riddled 2008.

AU loses a lot in its defensive secondary...there's some cause for concern there.
