After facing MUC a couple years earlier than expected due to the playoff runs, I wonder what SJF thinks about scheduling them to open the season?

I dont think they needed the 2 trouncings to necessarily understand what they were getting themselves into...either way, SJF is probably "think[ing]" that 0-1 is coming...

not so rowdy bomber

Pep,

Not much to report from Butterfield as far as improvements, other than the barrage of emails from Ithaca's Alumni office asking for donations and announcing their fundraising completion for the new athletic center, which NSRB thinks they will be naming Dragonslayer Stadium whenever they decide to break ground.

In the mean time, NSRB hopes someone does some recruiting to fill the ranks of the FDC, which have grown thin since the founding members have departed South Hill.

starting to get very exited for Bomber weather... you can almost TASTE IT!

E8PP at its finest in boldface! +K Rowdy....long time no post! Where are you these days, NSRB? Will you be at ButterField on Nov. 7 to see the Battle of the Bands or are you gonna join the 10,000 to see the Bombers slay the Dragons? Why not both?

Waited and waited and waited.....but it never connected. Could be a sign of things to come for the Engineers in 2009 sans Robertson under center!?! Any word whether Rensselaer will have another standout QB?

Edit: Okay, this morning it came through. Very impressive. Now that they've built it....will they come? It can be pretty discouraging to play in a huge facility to a handfull of fans. Is there designated seating for the RPI Pep Band? '86 Field of course had a sweet balcony for the band.

you bring up some good points pep... not sure if there are any plans to fill the seats, and union and hobart games are away in 09. Hopefully they will dump some $$ into a PR campaign to bring the interest level up across the capital district.

yeah - the new complex looks nice, but those emails got old fast.  My favorite was when they started counting down...."you have only 5 days left to donate..."  oh yeah?

educational institutions, right down the line to grade schools, continue to build and construct state of the art facilities all  over NYS...not what you expect from a fledgling economy.

It looks pretty nice though.

Is there any new information out there about what Fisher is looking at this year? Anyone know of some new comers that can help, or if they will turn the ball over less than 6 times a game this year?
GO FISHER!!!

Pep has published this week's newspaper....AND next week's newspaper   in anticipation of getting out of Alfred next week. While Pep is serving a life sentence in Alfred, on occasion he gets time off for good behavior!  ;)

So Pep is taking Pep Jr. and his friend on a Midwest Rollercoaster Tour, hitting five parks in seven days. Itinerary includes Waldameer in Erie, PA; Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH; Six Flags Great America in Gurney, IL (north of Chicago); Worlds of Fun in Kansas City, MO; and Holiday World in Santa Claus, IN.

En route from Chicago to K.C., Pep may make a quick stop in Whitewater, WI to visit the Warhawks' stadium, a stop in Milton, WI where Pep attended conferences as a teen and where Seahawk QB Dave Krieg played his college football, a stop in Parkersburg, IA to pay his respects to the late (and legendary) High School Football Coach Ed Thomas.

If time warrants, Pep will also be making stops at other D3 college football campuses along the way.

Pep wishes all his fellow posters a great holiday weekend, all! +K

I had two friends that drove all the way out to Ohio once to ride on the worlds tallest roller coaster or something like that.  Whats with the midwest and rollercoasters?

Pep surmises that would have been the Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point. The themed ride launches you at 120 mph....you then climb a 420 ft. tower, twist at the top, then come back down the 420 feet, all in a total of 17 seconds.

Regarding the "Midwest and rollercoasters," it's so flat out there, thrillseekers must pursue man-made contraptions to experience the "ups and downs" of life. Heck, near the hills and vales of the Finger Lakes and the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains here in Saxonville, Pep gets plenty of thrills just navigating the local terrain with the 317,000 mile bandwagon.

Fact is, Pep nearly T-boned a National Fuel truck this morning, as Pep was going down a steep grade and turn at about 45 or 50 mph when the truck pulled out from a hidden drive. Fortunately, driver of said truck quickly put it in reverse and disaster was averted. Whew!!

Pep, I was just in Chicago last week and when in Gurnee try to get a stuffed pizza at Giordano's...

It's literally right around the corner from Six Flags, they have the most amazing pizza i've ever had...
